Been thinking about HTTYD 2 and honestly, Hiccup's theory that he can change Drago's mind is rather naive.

Like, his reasoning is that if he can change Stoick's mind, then he can change Drago's. Which, as I say that aloud, and given what we know about Drago and Stoick as characters, that comparison makes zero sense.

Like, Stoick wanted to defeat dragons because they were a long-standing threat against his community. Drago wanted to use dragons to conquer the known world.

Hiccup even tells Drago "Or maybe you need dragons to conquer people. To force others to follow you and kill those who won't."

I guess you can argue that since Hiccup gained alliances with antagonistic characters before and has a record of changing people's minds (ex: Alvin the Treacherous, Mildew, Dagur the Deranged and Viggo Grimborn) that he's pretty confident of his chances and we don't know about Dagur and Viggo until RTTE, but still, to compare Stoick to Drago, who Stoick tells Hiccup is a murderous madman is a little insulting coming from Hiccup.

Like he's saying "Well dad, you're a little insane too and you came to love dragons"

Do you see where I'm going with this. Like, I love HTTYD franchise, but even the most perfdct franchise has many flaws.

This, and the continued existence of The Nine Realms is one of them.
