The Review:
Over the summer, Kai and some of our friends have been watching movies together over a website called rabb.it. So you might be thinking that Kai and I watched this movie together right? Nope, not at all. In fact, no one wanted to watch this movie with me. I had to watched it by myself. ಠ╭╮ಠ
Despite having no one to share the experience with, the movie was pretty good. Lately I’ve found myself really enjoying movies with the “gaslighting” trope. To explain what gaslighting is, it’s basically “a form of manipulation that seeks to sow seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or in members of a targeted group, hoping to make them question their own memory, perception, and sanity.” The definition is in courtesy of my good old friend wiki here. Now, back to my review!
Usually I hate to give my own summaries but since this is a short one I don’t mind. Our protagonist Christine is an amnesiac who wakes up and forgets everything she’s learned the day before. All she knows is that she’s married to a man named Ben and he has to remind her of their marriage every morning. A doctor calls her without Ben’s knowledge and they meet to try and help her regain her memories. He gives her a camera to record everything each day in order to help her remember. I don’t want to give too many spoilers of the movie, so now I’m going to be moving onto our yandere Ben.
Ben is the type of yandere you see coming out of nowhere. I didn’t find out that Ben was a yandere until almost the last 30 minutes. The reason why I rate him a 4/5 is because of what he did to Christine throughout the entire movie. Seriously, this movie is definitely a gaslight. If I had to say anything negative about Ben, it’s that he’s abusive to Christine towards the end of the movie. Physically abusive yanderes are really my least favorite types of yanderes in general, but that falls under my own personal taste.
A neat little detail is that the actress for Christine, (Nicole Kidman) also acted in one of my all time favorite movies, Stoker! A review of that movie will be post by Kai soon enough. From what Kai tells me is that, she didn’t like the movie as much as I do... Ehh, well we are different people so what can you do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also the guys that play Ben and the Doctor are the same actors from the movie Kingsman (It’s so weird to see them switch perspective roles).
Overall, it’s a great gaslight movie.

Star Trek: Discovery (CBS All Access)
CBS dio luz verde directa en noviembre de 2015 a una nueva serie de Star Trek para su servicio de streaming. Amazon’s latest drama ‘Tin Star’ premieres September 29th
Tin Star, a new drama coming to Amazon Prime Video, just got a premiere date and a trailer. The show stars Tim Roth who plays ex-British detective Jim Worth who recently moved his family to a small Canadian town called Little Big Bear. But a big oil refinery moves into town shortly thereafter, bringing with it lots of problems including organized crime, and the company's corporate liaison -- played by Christina Hendricks -- seems to be the strong, unwavering front of an even stronger, unsavory corporation. However, Wright is no saint himself and after a family tragedy, his violent, alcoholic alter-ego Jack is awakened.
The show is written by 28 Weeks Later writer Rowan Joffé and features Genevieve O'Reilly of Rogue One and Episodes, Christopher Heyerdahl of True Blood and Kevin Hanchard of Orphan Black. The show premieres September 29th on Amazon and you can check out the trailer below.

“Supercine” exibe o filme “Antes de dormir” neste sábado (16), na TV Globo
A TV Globo exibe neste sábado (16), após o “Altas Horas”, o filme “Antes de Dormir” na sessão “Super Cine”. A emissora estima iniciá-lo às 00h33.
De acordo com a sinopse, todos dias, Christine acorda ao lado de um homem que ela não sabe quem é, em uma casa desconhecida. Desde que sofreu um grave acidente que afetou seu cérebro, ela desperta sem se lembrar de absolutamente nada que aconteceu em sua vida nos últimos 20 anos. Cabe ao seu marido, Ben, por meio de um mural de fotos e detalhes do passado, relembrá-la de sua vida. Em sigilo ela faz terapia com o dr. Nasch e, aos poucos, vai descobrindo que nem tudo é o que parece ser.
O filme é um suspense cujo titulo original é “Before I Go To Sleep”. No elenco estão Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth, Mark Strong e Anne-Marie Duff. A direção é de Rowan Joffé.

Of all the horror genres, I’ve always liked the zombies the best. The prequel to this film, 28 Days Later, directed by British filmmaker Danny Boyle three years prior, was such a big box office hit, that (of course!) Fox queued up its sequel soon after.
