It had been a long day for the Filisophlite, already overwhelmed by the amount of work put in front of her on day one. Already a surge of people going in and out; scans, testing, you make it. It was a busy day for the med bay and boy the pressure was on. It was shaky fingers pressing buttons- speaking about diagnosis.

Then it happened in a flash- a lot of talking. Some yelling of protests. And then Bluebird nearly collapsed due to the sheer amount of anxiety hit her; not to mention that for the most part she was working on an empty stomach. Not good. Especially for creatures such as herself that need food at some point in order to function.

Just like humans, when a Filisophlite goes without food for a while they get shakey. Clammy hands with bad coordination at times. Unfortunately it hit Cassie hard once she got a moment to breathe. And then she hit the floor. Only blinking rapidly moments later and sitting up. Blue hues meeting her higher-up's. Doctor McCoy.

"I-I don't remember, Doctor. I'm- I'm sorry-" Bluebird spoke, trying to gain full awareness of her surroundings. Did. That really just happen? Gods that's so embarrassing- and even worse. The woman felt like it was entirely unprofessional.

One of the most unfortunate parts of traveling so much was that many of the things they needed required funds that just didn't exist in their world.

Or they didn't have the correct currency and didn't want to lead to confusion.

But if one thing could be said about the former soldier, it was that he was adaptable. Off to the side of the bustling street was where he stood, guitar in hand with his bag open in front of him, with Gibbous lying comfortably under the flap and hidden from view.

The last thing he needed while playing was having to stop someone from attempting to touch the toddler before they lost fingers.

Really the only way to notice she was there was to watch the way her tail would occasionally wag while he played his guitar. The music was fast-paced, themed, and definitely done to draw a crowd. Mismatched eyes were only half opened as some of those passing by dropped the local currency inside the bag.

It wasn't out of the ordinary for the pair to be out in another world for a breath of fresh air. There were only so many times they could visit friends before it began to feel like they were overstaying their welcome. At least that was what Light thought.

So that was why they were there. A Zone they weren't exactly familiar with but had been amicable enough to Light with his cybernetics to not have to avoid populated sections of the town they were in.

He still did to a point, for the toddler by his side's sake. Since there were some that ignored her vest to attempt to pet her and forced him to scoop her up from beside his leg.

"Dah?" Jade eyes blinked, curious as he pointed to what looked like a semi more secluded spot. As they walked over, Gibbous wiggled to be put back on her feet but he held firm when a feeling of not being alone raised both their hackles.

"Why don't you drop that pretty bag on your back and we'll let you and your poodle go?" Light glanced over his shoulder, cybernetic eye glinting in the sunlight above. When he didn't move, those who had closed off the only exit took a few more steps forward.

It didn't take him long to spot the glint of a knife and send a glare to the one wielding it.

There’s a mother’s warmth in the design of her, fingers coiling about the child in her arms as she settles down despite the long night. She gently cradles Klee closer, her back chilled by the ground but never allowing Klee to lay upon it, only herself instead. “ Goodnight little Lee, I love you —— see you come sunrise, my little sunflower. “ She knows she is not the mother of this child but, for a moment, she’ll adorn the role with love.

She was a ball of sunshine bright energy, bouncing from one task to the next from the moment she woke to the moment exhaustion took hold on her. She tried so very hard to push past it, insisting again and again that she wasn't tired!

She wasn't!

Just a few more hours, a few more games, one more snack.

The moment Koto's arms wrapped around her and the warmth of her affection settled into her bones, she relented. It was quiet incantation, its effect pillowy soft and soothing against her ear. Every ounce of her energy waned, and she was welcomed into the peaceful land of sleep by the angel of a woman that embraced her.

A soft nuzzle was pressed to Koto's collar bone, while her little fists curled up against her own chest. "Klee loves you too, Miss Koto. Night, night. We'll play lots more tomorrow."
