HE WAS GREEN FIRST #YOU CAN'T CLAIM HIM. NO DOUBLES. #but she's mostly grown out of it now. Mostly

If there's one thing I really hate in the newests Power Rangers series and in the comics is their insistence in want fit a stereotypes in every color.

Like "Blue Rangers are the techboys, the mechanical geniuses, expert in every high tech stuff" well, what's truth for almost all the teams except for:

Zeo, since Billy was out of the team and Rocky continued with the charisma of... Well, a rock

In Space, where all Rangers had the same knowledge of the Astro Megaship systems, except for Andros, who was the one to teach them everything

Lost Galaxy, where 3 out of 5 Rangers were enoughly qualified people to be part of Terraventure's crew, and the Green Ranger was the one among these three to be most fit to this description

Lightspeed Rescue, where all the tech stuff was made by someone out of the team

Ninja Storm, where all tech stuff was made by someone out of the team

Dino Thunder, where all the tech stuff was made by someone out of the team

SPD, where *gasp* all the tech stuff was made by someone out of the team

RPM, where the geniuses in team were Gem and Gemma, the Gold and Silver Rangers

Samurai, where the genius in the team was Antonio, the Gold Ranger

Wow, it seems a lot of exceptions, too much Ranger Teams going against the the universal laws hm...

It just is not worse than their insistence in bring Zordon back, but I'm not getting in this yet

“Regarding this cover, which was revealed through news from RANGER ACADEMY, I really want to say that I had a lot of fun drawing it. As there are not many opportunities to focus on the background and complete the painting, it was a new attempt, but I still learn that there is a fun new approach to painting. Personally, rather than well-drawn pictures, as much as the person who draws likes pictures where you can feel how much fun they have drawn on this subject, I hope you feel that you approached the work with affection and joy beyond simply leaving the work.”

Been working to catch up on all the Boom Studios Power Rangers comics after falling behind for a few years... and it seems like folks are sleeping on Ranger Academy?

But like, I'm a fan of High School AU's and, more specifically, seasons of things that make it a school. Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Turnabout Academy, that whole sorta thing. And the cover?

It's a great covers! These characters look cool! The pink-haired one has Vibes™

So, one issue in...

Oh dear sweet Zordon I love this art style and this character's Vibes™ are strong

It's a bit cliche, but damn they're fun cliches and I'm loving the execution and the art style

Ranger Academy #1

That was interesting! I'm very excited for a new Power Rangers comics not about the Mighty Morphin team. Don't get me wrong, I love those guys. But there's a lot of other stories to tell. And this feels like it can be something of note. I wasn't completely sold on the character designs, but the characters themselves have my attention. The writing was a bit repetitive and predictable, but there was enough charm to it that I didn't mind. Unlike Sage, I am cautiously optimistic about this new series!

BOOM! Studios Announces “Ranger Academy”

There is a school where Power Rangers are made. Huh. Ranger Academy hails from writer Maria Ingrande Mora, artist Jo Mi-Gyeong, and colorist Fabiana Mascolo.

“13-year-old Sage lives on an isolated lunar colony with her adoptive father, but her days on the farm will change forever when she comes across a wreckage with wounded passengers, people from an academy training to be something called… POWER RANGERS.” (BOOM! Studios)

Ranger Academy #1 goes on sale on October 4, 2023. The fist issue features a main cover by Miguel Mercado, two variant covers by Jo Mi-Gyeong, and a variant cover by Ejikure.
