The Wedding We Should Have Got (one of them anyways)

There’s only some things I would change from this lovely art (ertacaltinoz on instagram) and that is that Rhaenys and Corly refused to attend Viserys wedding to Alicent bc they took it as a slight against their daughter Laena.

And I’d add this crown to Rhaenyra’s design:

A nod to the jade tiara Daemon brought back for Rhaenyra, the tiara having allegedly belonged to the Empress of Leng.

So just to clarify, we’d go from this:

The reason I find the dress design so appealing is bc I think it reminds me of a more fitted, more appealing version of this dress in some of the artwork of Queen Rhaenyra:

we shouldn't be so hard on Alicent… we have to put ourselves in the poor girl's place, the only ones to blame for the Dance are the men in their lives… It's Otto and Daemon pushing Alicent and Rhaenyra away every time they can and Viserys in the middle, like a giant wall of ice between them, it's sad, very sad, if Alicent and Rhaenyra had chosen each other above all else the Dance would never have happened because they would never have betrayed each other, with that in mind it's easy to understand why Alicent comes to hate the green color

It's so telling that TG and Alicent stans constantly undervalue the lives of Rhaenyra's children. They scream feminism and progressiveness until it comes to the Medieval hatred of bastards. Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey are children who died because the Greens usurped their mother. Lucerys was thirteen when he was eaten alive by Vhagar, Jacaerys was sixteen when he was killed by crossbow bolts, and Joffrey was 13 when he fell from Syrax and ripped to shreds by looters. How is this horror so easily excused by TG in the name of their rapist king, his power hungry mother and grandfather, and his war mongering brothers? Of course the deaths of Helaena and her children are tragic, none of the Team Black characters deny this (except maybe Daemon). Rhaenyra condemned the actions of Blood and Cheese and gave Maelor a Targaryen burial. She never discounts their deaths because they are the usurper's blood. Also how are Lucerys and Joffrey not innocent children? They didn't fight in any battles, they never killed anyone, Lucerys' greatest crime was protecting his brother. Fuck, if they count Alicent as a child bride at 16, then Jacaerys was child too. None of Rhaenyra's children deserved death and their lives are no less important because their parents (in the show) weren't married and it's monstrous to believe that.

Team Black

Daemon: grooming, murder (2x excluding the stepstones), theft, abuse

Rhaenyra: murder (she was complicit in the murder of that random dude at Driftmark)

Rhaenys: murder of many smallfolk, her wig

Lucerys: slashing Aemond's eye (out of self defense)

Viserys: marital rape, marrying a child, letting his wife get cut open while she was alive without letting her know

Team Green

Otto: murder, encouraging his teenage daughter to marry an adult man, breaking his oaths

Alicent: assaulting Rhaenyra

Aegon: rape, supporting children fighting each other to the death

Aemond: murder (he didn't mean to??), basically saying Rhaena looks like a pig, attempted murder (self defense??)

Crispin: gruesome murder (2x), being a salty b*tch

Larys: murder (3+), feet

New Ideas for HOTD pt.3

So for this dress, I’m not exactly sure which scene I’d want the dress replaced for:

She wears this dress twice, once when she was meeting with the Lords for her hand, and again when she was meeting with Laenor to discuss their betrothal.

It’s hard to decide bc for one I can’t really tell where Rhaenyra is at when she’s meeting with the Lords. Some say it’s storms end, but a lot of people are saying she’s on Dragonstone. I like the idea that she was on dragonstone but my only issue is the fact that the original season finally was supposed to take place in Dragonstone’s throne room, but they didn’t get the chance to build it…

That doesn’t make sense if this is Rhaenyra on Dragonstone. So when trying to decide which dress suits which climate I’m just…idk man, I’m confused

Continuing on, the dress in question is this:

As you can see it appears to be a little warmer fabric which I originally thought might better suit her walk on the beach due to the oceans breeze, but now I’m starting to think a stone room might require more warmth.

She also appeared a bit colder in that Great Hall with the Lords and in general, bored even. I image her reflecting this in her appearance. A darker Targaryen Red, dragon scales embroidered into the frantic like some of Danaerys’ dresses in GOT. It still a similar design style as well, with the off the shoulders design, and I do believe that at that time she’d be wearing more silver or steel colored jewelry to match Daemons Necklace. And again it would fit her defiance against marriage in her reflecting both her house colors and sigil.

Also I find that when earrings hang they frame the jawline better, giving her an even more colder appearance as she stares down judging at them.

I’m unsure about the hairstyle though, as Alicent and Helaena have been seen with these hairstyles a number of times, not saying she’s petty but 👀

So perhaps something like this:

(W/ Straight hair obviously)

With this as her circlet tiara (before Daemon gifts her the Jade one) as a testament to her father:

I know it’s her Crown in the book but since they’ve changed the crown I think we can change it a bit more. So instead of the crown just having the gold sigils of the great houses, we bring the jewels back and let the be a representation of the seven realms and the seven gods:
