I’ve also decided that I’ll be reading one book a week from now on. Between all the books and comics I’ve been purchasing recently, plus a few more I’d like to buy soon I’m reaching burnout and I’d rather not have that happen.

So unless I’m reading a mini series or listening to a short audio book, thus giving me time to consume something else, one book a week from now on.

I’ve read this chapter so many times since I as a kid (I first read the manga when I was 10-11), and even now this whole scene (particularly this moment) always gets me.

It’s just so sweet and tender. I don’t know how else to describe it.

You know, re-reading the first seven chapters of the Dark Kingdom arc really makes me appreciate the scenes that Crystal added to help flesh out character development that was already there and make it shine!

Met up with a friend of mine on Wednesday and picked up some goodies.

The Robert A. Heinlein books were from her, though. She was at a book fair last Saturday and was nice enough to get these for me. 😊

Oh yeah, forgot to show off my little haul from Monday.

So long story short, I got a few gift cards from the Writers Guild as a thank you for all the work I put into creating and launching our very first, national short story contest.

Both gift cards were for McNally and, since I wanted to get out of the house, I ran over there and bought myself these beauties!

Except for Issue 4 of I Am Iron Man, that I bought at my local comic book store.

Sadly, no Epic Collection trade for She-Hulk, but there is a copy at said local comic store, so I'll pick that up later this summer.

The first image is courtesy of one of my good friends. She likes to make little care packages for her friends in the States and she made one for me, too.

I have to show off the playing cards, though cause they’re pretty cool!

I also picked up the latest Cardcaptor Sakura Volume while visiting my friends on Saturday.

Also, what the hell is wrong with Sawa’s mom?

Ren and Rin’s mom are arguably worse, but Sawa’s mom really seems like the kind of woman who was upset she’d had a child, and is just doing everything she can to ensure the poor kid slits her wrists as fast as possible.

Or she might just be jealous of Sawa...

Either way, she’s definitely a sociopath.

Just a few things I picked up the other day on my trip to the mall. They had Volume 5 for Rose of Versailles as well, but I figured I’d finish this first and then buy a copy towards the end of the month.

It’s not like I’m any huge rush to buy the last one, anyways. I know it’s there, so I’ll buy it when I do.

I finally finished Fruits Basket Another, last week. And I must say, I really enjoyed it.

I do wish it was a little bit longer, and I wish we’d at least gotten to see a bit more of the cast from the original series, but I do get why that was done. This is Sawa’s story, not Tohru’s. So it makes sense not to show them too much (if at all).

Plus, Sawa and Shiki are adorable together and I’d like to see more of their blossoming friendship in a sequel one-shot or something.

A friend and I were reading extra material from the House of M a few nights ago, and a few questions popped into our heads.

- Why is Stephen a psychiatrist in this universe?

- Wouldn’t he want to be a surgeon, again?

- And for the Stephen x Clea shipper in me; Wouldn’t Stephen’s greatest desire be to see his wife in a regular basis!?

I don’t know, maybe creating fake versions of characters from other planets and dimensions was beyond Wanda’s capabilities.

There’s something about Akira Himekawa’s Link To The Past manga that, I don’t why but I kept picturing Romi Paku as Link.

I actually think it wouldn’t be a bad fit, TBH.

So now that the Rose of Versailles manga is out in English, you which old school manga I’d like to see get a release? Cat’s Eye.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Cat’s Eye anime. Having read six (or so) volumes of the manga, though? I wish we either had a remake that incorporates elements from the manga that didn’t show up in the anime, or just had a release in English.

It probably won’t make a lot of money, but I’d still buy it!
