Power went out in the rain last night, the crippled substation under repairs apparently doesn't like getting wet anymore. Neighborhood's back on portable generator for the foreseeable future...
Water's still flowing at about 35 psi at the tap, at least we have it and don't have a boil advisory...
Like, I DO infrastructure for a living. I get it. And living in the suburbs, I pay good money for every service we get; I don't have a well or septic to maintain, I don't have to drive my garbage to the dump, I don't have to get a propane pig filled twice a year to have gas. There is luxury in convenience. But when you pay for a service, you reasonably expect them to be reliable. As always, it could be worse; we're not in third world county territory just yet, but damn though! Lot of clocks to reset on a weekly basis as of late.
Back to basics, about to try my hand at the first experience canning those tomatoes I prepped, and the equally bountiful harvest I obtained yesterday from the garden. Waste not, want not. Tomato time! 👍
