I feel like people miss the point of the finale. Buffy was closure of Sunnydale. Angel always had the message to continue to fight. Angel was never supposed to end on a happy note like Buffy. I guess I have baby brains.

Song Review: Grateful Dead - “Not Fade Away” (Live, Oct. 31, 1980)

For all of the Grateful Dead’s rancorous performances of “Not Fade Away,” the one from Halloween 1980 is scary-tame.

Petering out just before reaching the five-minute mark, it has a distracting echo on Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia’s voices, finds Garcia playing directionless leads on his axe and betrays the desire of drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart to move on to whatever was next.

Often a monster, this “Not Fade Away” - the latest addition to the Dead’s “All the Years Live” video series - is more like an NYC ’Head in costume.
