The feud was settled by Bolaji Amusan, president of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria.

5. In 2017, Lizzy Anjorin converted from Christianity to Islam and adopted the name Aishat. Moreover, in August 2023, she renounced Islam and asked her fans to stop addressing her with Islamic titles during an Instagram live session.

If you aren’t an artist, musician, or someone in an “artsy” field, you might wonder why creativity is important. If it’s something that doesn’t come easily, is it impossible to be creative?

To Zack Yanni, a globally acclaimed award-winning Nigerian movie Star, but who was born and raised in the Benin Republic, that’s not the case!.

He believes that creativity is something that grows with time and effort, and it’s worth exploring.

He is of the conviction that being able to see the big picture is important in many areas of life. Whether it’s one's personal life or a work project, it’s easy to get bogged down and lost in the details.

Said he ," being creative and letting your mind meander a bit is like taking a walk in the forest. Rather than stopping to focus on one piece of moss, keep wandering down the path and open up the forest. You’re able to see past the trees, in a way" .

Zack Yanni's film, " TREES of PEACE" won the Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay awards from international premiere at the 2021 Africa International Film Festival in Lagos, Nigeria!.

The Movie was Premiere at the 36th Santa Barbara International Film Festival Zack Yanni Also attended recently the 75th Cannes International Film Festival.

The TREES of PEACE film is based on events during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, where four women found unity, hope, and strength through one of the world’s darkest tragedies.

Zack Yanni was born and raised in Cotonou, Benin. His grandparents were from Yoruba and Hausa tribes respectively, and precisely from Oyo and Niger State in Nigeria.

After completing his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at Drexel University in Philadelphia, he began his career as an International Tax Consultant at "Big Four" USA accounting firm, Deloitte.

After some time in the corporate world, he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for film acting.

He began by studying the Meisner Technique at the Baron Brown Acting Studio.

Zack is an active member of SAG-AFTRA and has worked in multi-award winning Netflix Original film Trees of Peace written and directed by Alanna Brown and produced by RR Film Production.

Zack has also appeared in various music videos such as Jennifer Lopez (On The Floor) and Kendrick Lamar & SZA (All The Stars, from the Black Panther soundtrack).

Zack's education and experience in both corporate finance and the entertainment industry have made him an invaluable associate producer with RR Film Production.

Zack is also a passionate fitness and wellness coach that received the 2010 Fitness Model of the Year Award by the Fitness Model International (FMI) and Clark Bartram.

Speaking with FREEDOM ONLINE Zack said, "creativity has really motivated me. Feeling discouraged and frustrated about something? Mo. Doing something creative has really lifted my spirits and helped me to shake off a bad mood.

"When I am trying to find the solution to a problem, thinking creatively opens up the possibilities. I look at the situation from different angles. Oftentimes, people get stuck on solutions that they’ve always used in the past. While it might still get the job done, it could be done better if it was more creative. That’s how I get unique ideas and how innovators set themselves apart".

Zack went further, "creative people have open, active minds. They’re usually buzzing with ideas and soaking up inspiration from the world around them. This often makes them more productive because they’re bringing more to the table than someone who doesn’t open their mind to what’s around them. Creative people are always looking for new ways to solve problems, as well, which sparks innovation and increased efficiency. It’s a valued skill in any field.

"It elps you see the big picture, stay motivated, and solve problems. What could be more confidence-boosting than that? When one thinks creatively and overcome all kinds of challenges, you’re proving to yourself that you’re a capable person. Very few good things in life come without some efforts. CINEMA Exhibitors Association of Nigeria, CEAN, has announced that Funke Akindele-Bello’s blockbuster comedy movie ‘Omo Ghetto’ (The Saga) has become the highest-grossing Nollywood film. The association said in a recent report that Akindele-Bello’s latest movie, released late 2020, was the first in Nollywood to cross N500 million in the Nigerian box office. “Omo Ghetto has officially broken a four-year record by knocking off Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 Comedy movie: The Wedding Party,” CEAN said. “The movie (The Wedding Party) had been Nollywood’s highest-grossing movie with N453,000,000, while in third place is ‘The Wedding Party 2′ with N433,197,377,” it stated. CEAN’s report disclosed that ‘Omo Ghetto’ has maintained the number one spot for six weeks in a row, amassing a cum revenue of N501,449,050. The movie, which is a sequel to the 2010 trilogy ‘Omo Ghetto’, the story of Shalewa aka Lefty (Funke Akindele), was released on Christmas day 2020. Mrs. Akindele-Bello, who produced and co-directed the film, played the dual role of Ayomide and Lefty. Battle on Buka Street, Avatar, Ijakumo top highest grossing movies in Nigeria on New Year’s weekend

Nollywood movie Battle on Buka Street grossed a whopping sum of N67.99 million on New year’s weekend topping the list of movies with the highest weekend gross in Nigeria. 

This is according to data from the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN). 

According to the data, movies aired in Nigeria’s cinemas grossed a sum of N183.02 million between 30th December 2022 and 1st January 2023. The list was topped by Battle on Buka Street, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Ijakumo: The Born Again Stripper. 

The movies had also topped the chart box in the Christmas weekend as Nigerians in their usual fashion during festivities trooped to the cinemas to entertain themselves with blockbuster movies.  

Nigerian movie industry: The Nigerian film industry is recognized as one of the largest film producers in the world, contributing about 1.1% to Nigeria’s real GDP and valued at over N780 billion in real terms (2022 estimates). 

Several Nigerian blockbuster movies have topped the chart in recent years, as more producers invest heavily to produce cinema-worthy movies. 

It has also been a trend in recent times for movie producers around the world to premier cinema movies during festive periods, considering most people have more free time to visit the cinemas for relaxation. 

A total of N183.02 million was earned from cinema movies over the New Year weekend, compared to the N166.98 million recorded on Christmas weekend. 

Also, seven of the top 15 movies were distributed by Film One Studios. Notably, the top fifteen movies have recorded a cumulative revenue of N1.87 billion since they premiered, with over 681,000 people viewing them.

Battle on Buka Street – N67.98 million

Battle on Buka Street, produced by the Nigerian filmmaker Funke Akindele and starring the likes of Mercy Johnson, and Sola Sobowale grossed a sum of N67.98 million on New Year’s weekend, surpassing the N48.21 million recorded in the previous weekend. 

The movie debuted on 16th December 2022 and has raked in a sum of N361.36 million, with over 132,500 viewers in just less than three weeks.

Avatar: The Way Of Water – N41.9 million

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a sequel to the 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The movie was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Film One in Nigeria. 

Black Panther raked in a sum of N30.45 million on New Year’s weekend, bringing its total cumulative revenue to N956.7 million, with over 343,000 people viewers so far.

The attack on the Bethel Baptist High School in the state of Kaduna was the 10th mass school kidnapping since December in northwest Nigeria carried out by Islamist militants and more recently, criminal gangs. Nigerian authorities have attributed the kidnappings to what they call armed bandits seeking ransom payments.
