I have a past life connection with Kashmir . I’ve had past life regression done twice , once in 1996 and then in 2013 ( Lourdes Perez, Alcie Arora, Kashif Farooq remember ?) . And both times the EXACT same thing was told to me by two different people as is obvious. The strange birthmark on my back suddenly made sense . Every time I’m in Kashmir, I’m not exaggerating, I feel totally at home, random people come up to help, strike up a conversation and make me feel welcome . I wanted to start 2021 by acquiring a new skill and in the context of what I’ve just said, what better place than Kashmir and what better than learning to Ski . Skiing isn’t easy, one needs to have strong legs, the boots are bloody heavy , your knees need to be strong as your entire weight is put on your shins to gain speed and on your ankles to change direction . Gulmarg was heaven, had a good ski instructor so managed to learn and do the beginners slope . Jetskiing was of course more fun . Stay in Srinagar was beautiful at the uber luxurious Mascot Houseboats (stayed here in 2015 too) on Nigeen Lake with the warm hospitality of Hanji Yaseen Tuman, who is now a friend . I can’t get enough of Kashmir and will be back in Summers to explore some ancient Shaivite sites and Sufi shrines as promised by my friend Mohit Bhan, who is the national spokesperson for PDP Party and full of enthusiasm and fire 😊.
