I drew a coelacanth a while ago so here they are! :)

I think I might redraw them soon!

Some fun facts about the coelacanth (I could go on for a while so I will limit myself to 5, but let me know if you want more facts and I can make a separate post about them later!)

They have a vestigial lung! It’s all shrivelled and wrinkly because they don’t use it anymore, but it’s there!

They have been around for more than 300 million years!

They were rediscovered in 1938 after they were thought to have been extinct!

They have a hinge in their skull that lets them open their jaw REALLY wide to fit food in :)

They can live to be 100 years old (we think), give birth to live young, and can be pregnant for up to FIVE YEARS!

So uh yeah, they’re pretty cool and I like them a lot, and that’s just scratching the surface of all the cool things about them!
