Since you have an au where Optimus used his holoform to become a teacher, I was curious if any of the other bots have messed around with their holoforms?

Optimus was by far the only bot in base who used his holoform so frequently. Being a teacher is taxing and he often goes out of his way to spent an almost equal amount of time in holoform as out. But he isn't the only bot who spends time parading as a human off and on.

Ratchet, despite almost never leaving base, has occasionally used his holoform during quiet days to travel to bigger cities in order to sit in on lectures. He fakes whatever he needs to in order to get into lectures on subjects he wants to know more about, usually relating to medicine and all things natural sciences. He has been known to show up for math lectures too. However, he is not exactly the most subtle. Coming in with bright orange and white hair, possessing scars to mimic his facial plating seams, and always dressing the same exact way while never seeming to breathe or blink tends to draw attention.

Much like Optimus, Ratchet has gained a bit of a reputation. His appearances are so random and so varied in location that there has been a forum dedicated to him specifically. He has turned up all over the globe to listen to lectures, and as such, folks have taken pictures and begun trying to connect the dots. Many a poor fool has lamented the absolute impossibility of Ratchet being in Tokyo for a debate over quantum physics only to then be in Istanbul two hours later to observe archeologists argue over Roman relics. Ratchet has no idea that he is regarded as the "Wandering Pharmacist", in large part due to his eternally present lab coat.

Arcee does not tend to use her holoform unless absolutely required. But after heading through a seedier part of one of the larger cities in America, she has taken to heading to the more crime ridden ones on weekends to do some vigilante work. Being a nonexistent person means that she is able to get away with quite a lot. Thus far, Arcee has busted quite a few drug rings, saved dozens of trafficking victims, and dropped anonymous details to the police regarding homicides. Is is a waste of time? She would argue "maybe". Does she go out anyway? Absolutely.

Always having her holoform in black and garbed in a biker helmet ensures Arcee is never caught. But there are rumors now in larger cities of a biker called "Lady Midnight". Arcee's habit of walking scared women home on dark nights has earned her a very favorable reputation, and more than one mural has been made by appreciative artists over the years. She knows she has a reputation, but she never changes her routine. Those who meet her regard her respectfully, even criminals. She too has a forum dedicated to her. No one has been able to successfully figure out who, or rather what she is.

Bumblebee has become a very well known gamer who turns up at the local arcade every now and then. His signature mask, yellow black marked hoodie, and dread locks leave him able to be picked out from a mile away. No one knows his parents or if he even has any. But when Bumblebee comes on into Jasper's arcade, the local children revere him as if he is some sort of god. His ability to beat the games is legendary, and never once does he utter a word. He has a small fanclub who do everything in their power to learn the way of "The Masked Boy"

Thus far, only one kid saw Bumblebee's holoform vanish and be reabsorbed. Not a soul believes the poor sod. If anything, it has only cemented Bumblebee's position as the Lord of video games. Rafael is the only one out of the trio who knows that its Bumblebee who goes the arcade. Jack and Miko assume that its just some rando who drops by every now and then. Oh how wrong they are.

Bulkhead has only uses his holoform for the express purpose of talking with the older folks at the bar. He took a liking to a group of construction workers shortly after arriving to Earth. They taught him a great deal about acting human while thinking he was a foreigner. The elderly crew treated him so kindly that Bulkhead has now made it a habit to go and get drinks with them once a week if he can manage. He loves hearing the stories of these elderly humans, and despite being ages older than them, he has a fantastic time learning under them.

Little does he know that the crew know that he's not human. But there is an old understanding amongst them. If someone it polite and kind, there is no need to pry. And so they don't. They treat Bulkhead as they would any other person and tell stories as if they can't see his holoform flickering off and on. What happens in the bar stays in the bar.

Wheeljack somehow managed to build himself a club by pure accident. He was meandering about and he saw a few kids being pushed around. And so on instinct, he slaps together a holofrom and gets out to beat the afts of those who were messing with the kids. From that point onward, whenever he was on Earth he offered greetings to the local kids, calling them by fun and unique nicknames. He even began instructing a few on how to throw a proper punch, if only for self defense. Is he around often? No. But do the kids respect the hell out of him? Absolutely. By giving them the watered down version of the Wrecker rules, the local children hold nothing but absolute adoration for him.

There is a whole club dedicated to following the rules he taught them. In his absence, the small gang of kids serve as Wheeljack's replacement and help protect the other kids from bullies and other such individuals. They even have gone so far as to get matching clothes and accessories so that when they are "on duty" they can look the part. Wheeljack has never been so proud.

Ultra Magnus has only used his holoform a few times, and all of which were to go meet Optimus at school. He has largely been the one to come bring Optimus things while the Prime is at work, or to otherwise look big and intimidating to cover for Optimus more subtle tactics. The students murmured about him possibility being Optimus's spouse, but those claims were dismissed with Ultra Magnus refusing to call Optimus anything other than "Commander". Now the class firmly believes that he has to be one of Optimus's kids or a fellow fae creature subserviently to Mr. Pax. The rumors are amazing.

Smokescreen can never keep his holoform straight. His is always changing appearances. And so whenever he goes out and promptly does something he really shouldn't be able to, he is often recorded and promptly lost to the ether. He is always the one breaking human biological limits through pushing his holoform more than it really should, often by accident too. All he wants is to go enjoy human culture and he almost always gets recorded doing something just strange enough to count as supernatural, but not odd enough to really warrant any attention.

Like Ratchet, there is a forum for him dubbed "The shapeshifer". He doesn't know about it, but the forum enjoyers are actually quite intelligent and have long connected Smokescreen's various holoforms together.

I've been thinking about an au where Makeshift lives so.. The premise i thought about is basically:

Instead of Team Prime throwing the Shifter throught groundbridge to explode they put him in a cell (Wheeljack still throws the grenade)  Cons assume he's dead

Makeshift gets visits in form of overly curious kids (Miko discovered vents and is gonna make it everyone else problem) he talks with them about Cybertron & war stuff Bots didn't share with them and finds himself getting pretty fond of them (he likes how humans are able to mimic so well, he teaches them probably some cybertronian) and really worried because those are sparklings for Primus sake.

He does some deep thinking while autobots manage to just forget about him.. Then when the bombing of first base happens he survives but before he's able to make the big decision his fellow Cons take him back to Nemesis.

He's the one who's put in taking care of Predaking instead of Starscream so in short it means predacon Makeshift

OOO Imagine like Miko comes in with some Crawl when she goes for a sleep over. Like Jack and Raf know she's not rlly human. She's like half in half because of her mother getting her infected with it at a young age. And the Bots just stare in shock. Like they can't recognise it as a human food. And are just paniking.

ANOTHER THING, what if Miko like her ocean enity au has a feral mode. Like her fingers grow sharp and her eyes dialate. Like the decepticons will be freaked out as a small red being tears into the servoes of a veichcon.

With this, I had to draw it, I like to imagine that she eats like a mimic sometimes, either it’s instinctive or she does it to gross out Jack and Raf, and the bots are looking at her worried and terrified for her (even Ratchet cause grandpa Ratchet for the win) thinking she has like rabies or something- she just does this without wondering what the bots think, clueless that she looks like an eldritch horror character.

Also while Entity Miko doesn’t have sharper claws, they stay as paws with small claws, her pupils DO split and dilate to the point you cannot see the white of the eye sometimes, she knows it freaks knockout out, but anyone else? She doesn’t know

YEAH!

Miko swiped the wrench off the counter as the flesh meat sack ran at her at full speed.

Bits of meat falling off it's body as it chased after the young girl. The sounds of screeching echoed through out the air as Miko sprinted towards her brothers. Who were already climbing the stairs.

"MIKO!" Jack yelled in fear as a Mimic tried to take a chunk out of her.

Miko felt a hot boiling rage rise from her gut as she glared at the meat thing.

"RIGHT YOU SAG OF MEAT! THAT'S TOO FAR!" Miko screamed as she hurled the wrench at the Mimic smacking it square in the face. Making it stop.

The Mimic stood still trying to comprehend what the hell had just happened. It's eyes gone wide. Realising nobody had ever hit it before. It was just unbelievable.

Miko stared back before another Mimic ran at her. Prompting her to begin to run again, leaving the Mimic contemplating life alone.

*On Cybertron*

Ratchet stared at his new project as a familiar tingle shot through his body.

"Something just happened" He thought.

"BULKHEAD!" He yelled.

A loud crash could be heard.

"PRIMUS RATCHET WHAT NOW!?" Bulkhead shouted.

Ratchet growled and placed a hand on his hip.

"WHAT DID YOU BREAK!?" He replied.

Bulkhead groaned as he stormed into Ratchet's lab.

"Nothing" He replied sharply.

Ratchet looked him. A glare plastered on his face.

"Bulkhead, don't lie, I know you did something, you either broke or threw something" Ratchet stated trying to calm himself down.

"I DID NOTHING!" Bulkhead shouted.

Ratchet sighed.

"Bulk-" He tried to say.

Bulkhead threw his hands into the air before stepping back to the door.

"Listen, Ratchet I know how paranoid you are without the kids, but I swear on Optimus's grave, I didn't break anything, now if you don't mind me Ratchet, i'll be going back to my building which by the way Wheeljack is helpin' me build so don't go blamen him either" Bulkhead replied as he left the room.

Ratchet watched he left. Leaving him in a state of shock.

"If Bulkhead and Wheeljack didn't do anything, who did?" Ratchet muttered.

His thoughts cluttered about as he scanned for someone or something he might of left he behind.

Suddenly to images popped into his head.

"MY WRENCH" He yelled.

The other was Miko.

He panicked. It was the only small wrench he had. He would sell energon for it.

"Seems like i need to visit earth once more" He muttered as he removed himself from his desk.

Also I love Angel and husks song. Loser Baby is now one of my favs

A thing I imagine with the Mimic Miko Aau is that since she's half mimic and likely grew her skin on later as she aged. Would she have thin skin?

Like so thin that a simple scratch could bleed insanely? But despite that she has super strong muscle and bones underneath?

Also glad you like the AU! This one is more freeform because I am working more on the ocean entity and animatronic one for Miko, so you and others are free to write and talk about it or whatever lol. If I make a fanfic for this it might just be a oneshot

EVEN MORE WHAT IF! Like theirs this one scene. That could be animated. (I can't animate btw) I replayed it so many times in my head how it could go down. Basically theres two ways.

One she's in the lair (Old one didn't get destroyed as it's the only one i can remember properly) And She's sprinting up the stairs skidding side to side as a mimic chases after her. JAck and raf are ahead of her slamming the elevator button screaming for Miko to hurry. She's so close when she gets hit by another Mimic. Suddenly the elevator door closes with the boys destraught.

Cut back to miko, loosing her arm in the process. It lays in the Mimics teeth as she screams in pain. The other Mimic slowly walks to her to finish her off when she suddenly spots a replica of the apex armor. She pushes her legs to the apex armor right as a Mimic launches itself at her.

She grabs it as her leg gets torn by it's claws. The armour surrounds her creating a huge safe haven. The differenc with replieca is that instead of a weapon it creats whatever the user needs at the moment inside.

The song would perfect by exceeder.

the other idea is that she's homealone and she hears the doorbell. She opens it to see a Mimic and slams it shut. The door busts down as she skids into the kitchen. The sound of glass and thumps crawl towards the kitchen as Miko hides in a cupboard with a machete. The Mimic spots a tuff of her hair peeking out the cupboard and tears the hindges off grabbing miko's arm while tearing her out.

Miko panics and stabs the machete right into the Mimics head. Repeating the action over and over and over. Ulitmatley killing it. She then slowly sluggilshy calls Jack. Who rushes her to Ratchet. Who panics, leading the kids to explaining the horrors of earth.

Also the fact it knocks on the door is kinda funny to me 😭 just imagine it standing there waiting for miko to open the door like what alastor does in hazbin hotel- but yeah. I truly love thinking of the bots reactions to Miko's injury, the reason, and then learning about the creatures. The distraught on their face would fuel my writing inspiration for a LIFETIME.

I love happy endings, Also i'm laughing about how i made you go through that documentary LMAO. Also I agree! I can imagine Raf having one as a pet.

Also it's funny, my parents told me to do the dishwasher and i was listening to music and the idea popped into my mind

Ideas come to us at the most random moments dont they?

As I was watching the documentary, i had the short idea of Miko (of course) being an incorrect mimic of sorts, except when she was 'born' from a Crawl in Japan she was less hostile, only feasting on animals. Maybe the government decided to keep her under watch, at first being locked up in case she attacked, but she only did in defense, she ends up being sent to Jasper and shared between different agencies. With Jasper being a small town, she is the only known 'mimic' and looks much more human than the others. Sometimes.. She becomes friends with Jack and Raf, and shares all the abilities as the regular mimic except for her hostility being replaced with her outgoing attitude and looking a bit more normal unless it's at night or you looked closely at her during the day.

Now that I think about it, this idea is throwing the canon idea of the species way out of whack so nvm lol

But yes Raf would own one and it would even sneak in his bag and come to the base at some point, to which all of the bots freak the hell out thinking its an earth version of a scraplet lol

So i drew this today. Basically anew intern joined Agents Fowler group and sees Miko. He pulls out a gun and tries to shoot her but Agent Fowler pulls the gun out of his hand as he fired. Making it miss
