Hey everyone, if you haven't played Murder by Numbers yet, now is the time to do so, as it's currently free on the Epic Games Store until July 27th
Described as a "weird little camp love-letter to 90s detective shows, Picross, and Phoenix Wright", this game has you solve Picross puzzles to find clues that you use to solve murders, with an adorable robot by your side
IMPORTANT EDIT: Massive photosensitivity warning for this game. It frequently uses an effect where the entire screen flashes white for just a second. There's no way to turn it off, or avoid it, and it happens very, very frequently (maybe once every five to ten seconds of dialogue), so please be extra cautious if you have migraines, epilepsy, anything that could be triggered by it, and I'd recommend that absolutely nobody plays in a dark room even if they aren't sensitive to flashing.

I wish I could tell the original artist that this drawing permanently changed the entire direction of my life in 2009. I want to shake their hand, look them in the eye, and admit I would not be who I am today if this drawing didn’t exist.
EDIT: Original artist is @ivynajspyder !!!!

Octavius looks genuinely so mortified that Jed is bringing up the handholding thing BFHSHAHAH
"NO, MY DIGNITY! MY EGO! HE MUSTN'T KNOW MY WEAKNESS!"
He's got leftover caginess from their time as enemies and every now and again is struck with the feeling of, "I cannot let this man know anything about me lest he think I'm a little bitch."
Please tell me if I'm posting too much about these two 💀💀 I just have so much to say

Hank, Sanford and Deimos with a Reader who does Handcrafts
Gonna post my old MadCom stuff since people seem interested in it! I didn't write too much back then, but I'll post it anyway and hope for some MadCom requests as well! What the title says! Reader knits, crochets and embroiders in this! The format is different from how I usually write, but that's because I wrote this months ago, if not in 2022! I don't remember when, but it's been a while since I wrote this!
Hank
If you get his attention while doing one of your crafts, expect him to just stare at you for a while. He knows what knitting is, since you can use those needles to stab someone with enough force, but he never really cared much for any of it. So, seeing you do those small, but precise movements has him somewhat curious. If you beckon him closer to check out what you’re doing, he will approach you, taking your piece from your hands and gently examining it, before returning it to you.
While he won’t join you that often due to his occupation, Hank will lie down next to you from time to time, watching you work until he falls asleep eventually. Doing so next to you, especially when you’re knitting or doing embroidery, takes a lot of trust on his behalf, so it’s a rather rare occurrence, but it might happen. Still, sometimes even Nevada’s most wanted can’t resist getting some sleep in.
If you give him a scarf or anything of the likes it might seem like he doesn’t like it at first. As he only grunts in acknowledgement and doesn’t wear it, it might seem disheartening at first glance. But rest assured, he’s well aware that him wearing it would only get it covered in blood, and he wouldn’t want your creation, that you put so much love into, to get sullied like that. Hank does keep it somewhere hidden where only he can find it so that it won’t get stolen as well, he truly does treasure anything you give him.
Sanford
He has helped his mother crocheting every once in a while when he was young by holding her wool for her. Sanford always thought it to be really cool how you can make something so beautiful out of something as simple as wool and yarn. Much like he did when he was younger, he’ll hold your yarn for you, making it more comfortable to knit or crochet for you. Unlike Hank and Deimos, he will try to learn it as well. It seems relaxing, so why not? But by no means is he a master. Due to his strength, he will likely rip the yarn and wool apart from time to time and come to you for help.
In order to relax and unwind a bit, he’ll likely come to you and ask if you would like to practise your craft for and with him. Having you around in and of itself already makes Sanford happy, but just getting to spend time with you without having to worry about being killed by the enemy makes it all the better. If you let him, he will hold you close, lean into you, put you on his lap, anything you’re comfortable with.
Please give him a sweater. Because he’s never wearing a shirt he gets cold fairly easily. He’ll cherish it dearly and wear it whenever he can, and whenever he knows it won’t get ripped. Another thing he’d be very happy with would be a piece of embroidery. It reminds him of better times and gives him hope, especially when your piece of art is something pleasant and sweet to look at. Because of that, he will put it up somewhere in his room where he can always see it. Even if Deimos makes fun of him for it, he will simply lightly jab at the smoker, all the while smiling at it.
Deimos
He’ll lovingly call you a grandma for having hobbies like these. Even while doing embroidery, where you stab things thousands of times, he will snicker at you whenever he catches you doing any of these things. Though, he doesn’t mind that sort of thing at all since that means you’ll be sitting still for a while, meaning you’ll give him a chance to unwind with him. Deimos will wrap his arms around you, leaning onto you or just cuddle into you in general. No fighting, no getting hurt, just watching you do the same movements over and over again.
Despite possibly calling you boring, he does have great respect for your craft, since he can’t do any of it. It’s too tedious and he can’t sit around for long enough doing something like this. It’s simply not exciting enough. But the moment you give him his first sweater, he will think it’s the most awesome thing to ever exist. Proud as a peacock, he will flaunt and taunt his new piece of clothing, especially to Sanford and Hank, declaring just what a great lover he has.
Present him with a plushie and his mind will be blown. He always thought knitting and crocheting are just for woolly hats and sweaters and scarves and all. If he sees you made him a tiny grunt, he will simply lose it, run around the Status Quo base and show everyone what you’re capable of. It doesn’t even matter to him whether or not it looks good. Your hands are magical to him and absolutely everyone has to know just how cool and epic you are.

the fond memories i have of clearing this specific level of enemies and then just slowly wandering around the empty level for actual hours telling myself a story about being a survivor of a crashed star ship trying to survive on these chunks of wreckage and steep rock formations. i did this with a lot of ratchet and clank levels tbh? as levels in the few other video games i could get, but this one was one of the most revisited.
i'm 100% certain i'd be a different person if i had never developed this habit at all, but honestly, i'd probably be altered even if you only subtracted this oneparticular fictional spaceship wreck

This. This. This entire conversation with Morrigan actually makes me want to sob. She and my Tabris always becomes close friends over the course of DAO; that, paired with the fact that my Tabris always romances Alistair, makes everything about this hurt so much more when you take DAO's ending into account.
Her confusion over why my Tabris didn't send her away. Why she didn't abandon her after they learned of Flemeth's plans. Why Tabris went out of her way to slay Flemeth and bring her the true grimoire. She asks Tabris why, and is baffled when the answer is, "I did it because I'm your friend," as if it's that simple.
The way Morrigan looks at the warden, the way her voice cracks when she says, "I want you to know that while I may not always prove... worthy... of your friendship, I will always value it."
She knows how this will end; Flemeth sent her with the wardens with the end goal of stopping the blight and obtaining the old god soul through the dark ritual. Morrigan knows that Alistair and Tabris are the only Grey Wardens here, and assuming they don't find more, one of them will have to die defeating the archdemon unless they agree to do the dark ritual.
With that context, her asking Alistair, "And what if a Grey Warden has forced to choose between the Warden he loved and ending the Blight? What should his choice be?" suddenly has so much subtext weaved through the words that I'm gonna start foaming at the mouth. She's practically telling Alistair that a warden has to die. She's scrutinizing his reaction to find any hint that suggests he would agree to the dark ritual in order to save himself and the woman he loves. And when he doesn't choose, she has her answer.
Morrigan made comments to Tabris about him, almost hopeful that their relationship was just a physical thing between them and not actually riddled with feelings... and then gives disapproval when Tabris says she loves him.
She doesn't want the warden to die; hell, she doesn't want Alistair to die, either; whether because she does actually care about him or because she knows it'll break her friend's heart if she loses him, or both!
Things would be so much easier if the only two Grey Wardens left to defeat the blight didn't fall in love, wouldn't they, Morrigan?
She knows that in the end, no matter the outcome, she will lose the woman she called sister and it's devastating.
Morrigan, who has never known true friendship. Who grew up isolated in the woods with an abusive mother and terrible implications for her future. Who discovered said mother planned to take over her body just as she did with her other daughters. Who doesn't understand kindness as it was rarely given to her without a catch. Who isolates herself from the others in camp. Who finally has a companion she cares about... and in the end, if her plan works and the dark ritual is completed, she'll end up pregnant and alone and wearing Tabris' resentment like a tender wound on her heart.
Or Tabris will reject the ritual, and will die to the archdemon.
Or her lover will.
I just- the dynamic between the warden, romanced Alistair, and Morrigan is so good and painful and rich that I'm gnawing on furniture as we speak.

oughhuofhh *violent sobbing* <-still not over the juanaflippa days
SHE LOVED THEM TOO💔💔 AS TERRIBLE AS THEY WERE SHE LOVED THEM SO SO MCUH BECAUSE SHE KNEW HOW HARD THEY WERE CONSTANTLY TRYING FOR HER
There's just. something about this little girl who's first day is spent being ignored because your caretakers are already getting fucking divorced and any other time its them putting your life at risk <//3 They make the shittiest cave room because both of them cant build for shit and tell you its your new home.
They still let you decide your name, even if you can't properly talk yet.
By the time you see one of your parents again you've already lost a life because of their absence. Still, your father measily fights off the approaching monsters for you. He accomodates for your needs and lets you eat first, even though he's starving too.
Your first toy is a gun. Your first proper time spent with your dad is watching him make a pact with the devil. What is it like to witness someone unable to afford the bare minimum? What is it like knowing that the reason he is putting himself in these situations is because of you?
Your first toy is a gun because your father can only measily defend you. Your first murder was in the middle of a lullaby inside your burning home - except it's not as serious as it sounds. Your father's lullaby is an improvised rap, dedicated to you. You are dancing and jumping around, the glowing embers dont hurt either you or him and only bring more light into your tiny, tiny room that slowly starts to feel more like a home.
The next time your parents reunite they argue again.
It's weird how they bring out the worst of each other. You spend your rare few times with your mother and you understand that she loves you too. He makes you cake, you go fishing together and she gives you armor and a chainsaw as a gift for Easter. You go to sleep soundly that night because your mother is right there with you in your room.
The next time you wake up, it's to their happy tears and warm embraces because they missed you too.
.
You know your parents are good- even if theyre not. They're good because they are trying to be and you get to be the center stage, witnessing all of it.
So you watch as your father kills your best friend
and you see the swinging blade belonging to your mother approaching you,
you love them anyway.

// this is a stright up rant, not gonna bother wording it well
"Give Meredith and Orsino time to work out their differences..." man,, there's just so much to unpack here like
1. They're not a married couple to work out their differences ffs
2. "No good can come of showing favor to one side" bitch when one side is oppressors and the other is oppressed, not showing favor is siding with the oppressor. Simple as that. Especially when you're part of said oppressors
3. There's no working out differences when one wants to commit genocide and the other, shockingly /s, does not want that. What differences are there to possibly be fucking worked out??
4. You're supposed to keep Meredith in check, what the fuck are you even here for if you don't step in when there has been blatant disregard for Chantry law (nevermind that even if that's followed, it's still an oppressive system) for at least 7 fucking years??? Oh right, you're here to let Meredith (and the Chantry as a result) slowly take over Kirkwall, bc that's what it's all about apparently
Fuck this shit. I'm supposed to think that Anders finally blowing the lid off this dumpster fire of a city is the worst thing to happen? I don't. Things have been shit in the city and would've continued to get worse and worse and worse. Way more would've died if nothing was done and things still would've remained shit as an added bonus. At least after a revolt, there's a path to healing. Meredith would've annulled the Circle, then would've continued to lead a regime that got people killed for imaginary slights, and would've continued to raze through the city. A revolt was coming. Better sooner than later.
