80 éves korában elhunyt Roberto Colaninno a Piaggio elnöke

Miután augusztus 15-én bejelentették, hogy a Piaggio elnöke és vezérigazgatója, Roberto Colaninno 80 éves korában elhunyt, a Piaggio & C. S.p.A. (PIA.MI) szeptember elején új felsővezetői struktúrát erősített meg. Roberto Colaninno két fiát, akik apjuk 51,1%-os ellenőrző részesedését örökölték a Piaggio anyavállalatában, az IMMSI-ben (IMSI.MI), a Piaggio legfőbb felsővezetői pozícióiba nevezték ki. A Piaggio igazgatótanácsa Carlo Zanettit is új, nem ügyvezető igazgatóvá választotta, így az igazgatótanács tagjainak száma változatlan maradt. A Piaggio & C. S.p.A. igazgatótanácsának kilenc tagja tehát jelenleg Matteo Colaninno (ügyvezető elnök), Michele Colaninno (vezérigazgató), Graziano Gianmichele Visentin (független igazgató), Rita Ciccone (független igazgató), Patrizia Albano (független igazgató), Federica Savasi, Micaela Vescia (független igazgató), Andrea Formica (független igazgató) és Carlo Zanetti. Roberto Colaninnót egyformán csodálták és gyalázták, de kétség sem férhet hozzá, hogy ő és családja milyen mélyen pozitív hatást gyakoroltak arra, hogy a Piaggio egy híres, de csődbe jutott olasz vállalkozásból nyereséges és egyre progresszívebb konglomerátummá vált. Colaninno 2003-ban szerezte meg a Piaggiót, majd 2004-ben gyorsan lépett, és megvásárolta az Apriliát és a Moto Guzzit is. Direct Pharmacological Targeting of a Mitochondrial Ion Channel Selectively Kills Tumor Cells In Vivo

Here we show that direct inhibition of Kv1.3 using two mitochondria-targeted inhibitors alters mitochondrial function and leads to reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated death of even chemoresistant cells independently of p53 status. These inhibitors killed 98% of ex vivo primary chronic B-lymphocytic leukemia tumor cells while sparing healthy B cells. In orthotopic mouse models of melanoma and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the compounds reduced tumor size by more than 90% and 60%, respectively, while sparing immune and cardiac functions. Our work provides direct evidence that specific pharmacological targeting of a mitochondrial potassium channel can lead to ROS-mediated selective apoptosis of cancer cells in vivo, without causing significant side effects.
