what was tina aumont and christian marquand's relationship like?
Hi anon! thank you very much fro your question.
Tina relationship with Christian Marquand wasn't one of equal terms. He was friend of Jean-Pierre Aumont and he saw Tina's birth.
For her, when she was a child, Christian Marquand was "Uncle Christian", and for him Tina was just his friend's daugther until she grew up.
Tina when she was a teenager had lots of problems with her step-mother and felt her dad had left her, so when she met with Christian Marquand, saw him as her saviour and fell in love with him. After JP Aumon't blessing, they got married.
Living with him, at first it was easy, he was an actor and filmmaker and she worked at home, redecorating their flat but soon saw she wanted to be an actress so he helped her launching her star career, he had contacts and friends in the cinema industry that could be happy to have Tina in their films.
Tina and Christian had a happy life as a married couple and in 1964 Tina got pregnant, and in November that year, she gave birth to a baby girl she called Maria after her mum, but the happiness soon led to tears as the baby was born with crystal bones disease and just survided one hour after birth.
Tina was heartbroken and felt she had to do something worthly with her life so she took more seriously her future as an actress ans spent lots of times far from home (as her husband did), but soon Christian felt Tina was getting away from him and he didn't like she wasn't around him anymore so he told her to stop her pursuing her actress carreer, bur Tina felt free, she loved acting and discovered a new way of life more suitable for her young and free spirit, so they divorced.
Tina kept contact with Marquand's family and even worked with Nadine & Marie Trintignant in the early 2000s, and once, than Tina knew Christian Marquand was living in a geriatric residence as he was suffering from alzheimer, she went to visit him, but after realizing he didn't recognised her, she never visited him again.
So that's all I know thanks to Jean Azarel's book about Tina, but also this information comes from vintage articles I have and information coming from internet.
I hope I have answered what you needed to know, and my apologies from my lare reply.
Your questions are always welcomed ^^
