from this wip game! soooo its a mshakarian, post-war fake dating au. basically, as an aid to Victus, Garrus gets an arranged marriage and shepard offers himself to be Garrus' boyfriend so Garrus doesnt have to go through with it

“You look like shit,” Shepard comments a mere second after the vid comm connects. “And here I thought you liked my ruggedly good looks.” Shepard raises an unimpressed eyebrow. “I do,” Garrus irrationally preens at that. “But I don’t like seeing you stressed. I thought all your projects were going well?” “They are. That’s the problem.” Shepard looks like he’s trying not to laugh. Garrus will take it because as soon as Shepard hears why he’s all twisted up he’s gonna laugh his ass off. “How is that a problem?” he indulgently asks. “Well, we’re improving relations between Apien Crest and the outer colonies, right?” Shepard nods with a hum. “And well, some of the more ah, traditional Houses would think an arranged marriage would help smooth some rough edges more. The idea is gaining traction.” Instead of the laughter he’s prepared himself for, Shepard’s face falls into the familiar scowl that means he’s gonna charge his problem. “They’re marrying you off?” “Trying to,” Garrus soothes, confused in the face of Shepard’s anger.
