Some changes for Broadway from the previous Goodman Theater production. Excellent performances from the entire cast with clear picture and great sound throughout; very good video. 2 DVDs. A War Paint - Broadway - April 29, 2017 (Matinee) (NYCG8R's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Patti LuPone (Helena Rubinstein), Christine Ebersole (Elizabeth Arden), John Dossett (Tommy Lewis), Douglas Sills (Harry Fleming) NOTES: The master gets caught during Face to Face. You can hear someone say “TURN IT OFF”. Blackout during that part. Wasted - Southwark Playhouse - 2018 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Matthew Jacobs Morgan (Branwell Brontë), Molly Lynch (Anne Brontë), Natasha Barnes (Charlotte Brontë), Siobhan Athwal (Emily Brontë) We Are The Tigers - Off-Broadway - March, 2019 (StarCuffedJeans's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Lauren Zakrin (Riley Williams), Wonu Ogunfowora (Cairo), Jenny Rose Baker (Kate Dalton), MiMi Scardulla (Reese), Kaitlyn Frank (Annleigh), Cathy Ang (Mattie Wheeler), Celeste Rose (Chess), Zoe Jensen (Farrah), Sydney Parra (Eva Sanchez), Louis Griffin (Clark) NOTES: Starts at the beginning of "I Just Wanna" and missing part of "Mattie's Lament." The theater was really full tonight so there are a good number of heads in this video, but they are worked around to the best of my ability. This is a super small theater (less than 160 seats) and at times the cast members were definitely singing to the camera and honestly giving their best performances because of it. All of the things on the upper level (the bathroom, the pathway, and the kitchen) are captured perfectly, and the zooms on the lower level (the living room and bench) look good as well. Obviously because this is a murder mystery kind of show the lighting can get a little bit dark, but my camera handles low lighting incredibly well. This is honestly the best video you could expect from this venue We Will Rock You - Germany (Cologne) - August, 2005 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Alex Melcher (Galileo), Vera Bolten (Scaramouche), Brigitte Oelke (Killer Queen), Martin Berger (Khashoggi), Michaela Kovarikova (Meat/Oz), DMJ (Brit/J.B.), James Sbano (Pop/Buddy/Bap), Harald Tauber (Teacher), Willemijn Verkaik NOTES: Multicam proshot We Will Rock You - Utrecht (The Netherlands) - October, 2010 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: John Vooijs (Galileo), Marjolein Teepen (Scaramouche), Pia Douwes (Killer Queen), Paul Donkers (Khashoggi), Floortje Smit (Meat/Oz), Ruud van Overdijk (Brit/J.B.), Rutger le Poole (Pop/Buddy/Bap) NOTES: Good capture. Very well captured with no dropouts, no obstruction, and no washout. The stage is filmed directly most of the time; the screens are occasionally filmed, usually when the actors are not onstage. No dropouts and no obstruction. NEW HEADCANON:  Captain Pike was introduced to Cards Against Humanity while serving as Captain aboard Discovery.  In the rare moments when there wasn’t a crisis and people could take time to relax, Pike, Burnham, Tilly, Detmer, Owosekun and Nhan would play.  Later sessions would include Jett , Ron Bryce, Gen, and Linus sitting in if one of the others were busy.
Ensign Tilly gifted Captain Pike with a full set of CAH cards before he returned to the Enterprise.  Now, he holds game nights with his senior staff during off-duty shifts, with Number One, Jose Tyler, Lt. Colt, and Thira Sidhu.  Una tried to teach Mr. Spock how to play, to very limited success.

Registry: NCC-1701-A
Type: Constitution-class (refit)
Affiliation: Starfleet
Captain: Admiral Christopher Pike
Year: 2293
Background: Christopher Pike’s flagship. Pike’s Crew includes Captain Spock as his First Officer, Commander Hikaru Sulu, helmsman, Commander Jose Tyler, Navigator, Cmdr Uhura, Communications, Lt. Saavik, Dr. Gabriella Carlotti, CMO and Chief Engineer Grace. Was patrolling near the Klingon Neutral Zone when the spotted a Klingon Battlecruiser attacking a Federation Freighter within Klingon Space. They attacked it, drove it off, and rescued the survivors. One of them was Pike’s former Yeoman, Kirk, and another was Mia Colt, who disappeared without a trace 39 years prior. It didn’t take long to determine Colt didn’t belong in their time and that she was slowly dying, a foreign body in the timestream. Pike agreed to take her back to Algol, where she had disappeared (and was now part of the Klingon Empire). They were met by a contingent of Klingon vessels led by General Chang, and took heavy damage, Commander Sulu killed in the battle. They were rescued by Excelsior which had orders to bring them in. Again, by explaining to Captain Robbins - Pike’s former first officer, the situation regarding Mia Colt, agreed to let him continue on but couldn’t help him further. Algol was now a staging ground, set up by Chang for an invasion of the Federation. Mia Colt, Along with Kirk’s merchantman crew, beamed down to return her to her era, while the Enterprise fended off the Klingon fleet. Pike had no way of knowing if she was successful or not and gave them as much time as he could, before his ship was reduced a hulk. On his order, the ship was abandoned before he initiated the self destruct, taking some of Chang’s fleet with it
Appeared in Star Trek: Early Voyages #13-15, Marvel Comics

Star Trek: Discovery - will we meet more characters from The Cage?
'The Cage' was the first episode of STAR TREK.  The pilot, that Gene Roddenberry made to sell the show.  It starred Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike, with Majel Barrett (Gene's wife) as 'Number One', the pilot and first officer, and Leonard Nimoy as the Science Officer, Mr Spock.
Tumblr media
The network liked it, but asked Gene to make a couple of changes.  Get rid of the pointy-eared, satanic looking character, and the female in command (because it was unrealistic).
Instead, Gene changed everything... except for Spock, who he kept, but made him Half-Human.  Majel Barrett was recast into the recurring character of Nurse Christine Chapel... and we were given a new commanding officer - James T Kirk, played by William Shatner, as well as the recognisable crew of Uhura, Scotty, McCoy and Sulu.  Chekov wouldn't be added until the show's second season.
'The Cage' went unaired, although the footage was used to make up the two-part episode 'The Menagerie', which saw Sean Kenney recast as a now-crippled Pike.
Otherwise, the pilot was largely forgotten.  When JJ Abrams made STAR TREK (the 2009 movie), an older Pike - played by Bruce Greenwood - was brought in as a mentor to wayward James Kirk.  The character was then killed off in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.  Those films are set in an alternative timeline though, Pike and co aren't referenced in the prime timeline... until STAR TREK: DISCOVERY came along.
Tumblr media
Season two is warping towards us for a 2019 premier, and it's going to give 'The Cage' a whole new lease of life.  Captain Pike is back, in the prime timeline, now played by Anson Mount (Marvel's INHUMANS), set to be a major player in the story, and main cast member, as he takes command of the USS Discovery.  Mount, in turn, announced that we'd be meeting 'Number One' again, now played by X-MEN star Rebecca Romijn.  The trailer that made it's debut an SDCC showed that some of the plot would definitely revolved around Mr Spock... and sure enough, this week found out Ethan Peck had been cast in the iconic role.
As stated, Mount will be a main player.  Expect his name to on the credits (will he get the 'and' credit, Jason Isaacs received last season?).  I should imagine Rebecca Romijn will bookend the storyline.  As Pike takes command of the Discovery, 'Number One' will likely stay in command of The USS Enterprise, and I reckon will only be in two, maybe three episodes.  As for Peck's Spock?  That's hard to say.  I doubt he'll be main cast, I'd be surprised if we find Peck's name on the titles, but I would say he'll get more action than Number One.
So, that's the big three for 'The Cage', but they weren't the only characters in that pilot.  Will we get to see more characters brought to life?  Who could we see?
JOSE TYLER
Tumblr media
Lt. Jose Tyler was played by Peter Duryea.  He was the ship's Navigation Officer, sitting towards the front of the bridge, next to the Helm Officer.  We don't know yet if we'll get to see the bridge of the USS Enterprise, but if we do, it's certainly possible we might get a glimpse of Tyler.  In fact, of the supporting cast, his position on the ship, I think Tyler's the most likely to be seen.  He doesn't necessarily need to speak, so just someone that looks like him would be nice. (Although a speaking part would be nicer)
DR. PHIL BOYCE
Tumblr media
As Spock is the focus of the storyline for season two, it's possible they might need to see his medical records... and they'll have to go through Boyce for that!  John Hoyt played the chief medical officer and probably got more screen time that Spock in the pilot.    It would certainly be a nice inclusion, but probably less likely that Tyler.
J M COLT
Tumblr media
Played by Laurel Goodwin, Colt was Pike's Yeoman.  He was often snapping at her, despite her just doing her job.  She had a sizable role in 'The Cage' but is probably the least likely to appear in DISCOVERY, as the only series to include a Captain's Yeoman' was THE ORIGINAL SERIES.  The character could always be retooled into another function though, possible the Communication's officer?  Just a suggestion.
I would attempt to guess at potential casting for these roles, but I doubt I'd be anywhere close. Whilst I had cited Mount as a potential (and favourite) choice for Pike, I hadn't thought of Romijn for Number One, and I didn't even know Peck existed.   Those a big important roles too, I wouldn't have a clue for the supporting roles.
Tumblr media
I do hope these character's get a nod, but right now, I'm excited to see what STAR TREK: DISCOVERY has for Pike, Spock and the criminally underused Number One.

Some thoughts on Star Trek Discovery Season 1 finale
Just in case the headline hasn’t made it obvious, this post has spoilers for the just-released first season finale. So I’ll put a break here to begin.
The tl;dr - after an extremely rough start, Discovery managed to pull itself together midway through the season, and delivered a great season finale that actually made me cheer.
It was almost as if the twin F-bombs that annoyed so many people (including yours truly) during the 5th or 6th episode triggered an internal reboot of Star Trek Discovery, because almost immediately the show did a 180, upgrading many of its characters, making its plots smoother, its Klingons more interesting and becoming more recognizable as Star Trek (albeit still a dark take). And the season 1 finale, I think, showed how the show’s pivot has resulted in it feeling more like Trek after its first half-dozen episodes led many - including myself - to turn Seth McFarlane’s The Orville as “real” Star Trek.
Don’t get me wrong - given the choice I’ll still watch The Orville first, but the last half of season 1 of Discovery was terrific and felt more and more like Star Trek the closer it got to the season finale, culminating in the cliffhanger appearance of no less than the Cage-era Enterprise 1701 itself. (And then, as if that wasn’t enough, Alexander Courage’s original theme - opera singer and all - played over the closing credits. A proper version, too, not the middle 8-less version used in the current movies that is always grating to hear because it’s like the theme from Doctor Who being rendered as nothing but repeats of ooo-weee-ooo, without the rest of the melody).
This is not to say that Discovery has suddenly become a perfect Trek series. It has lots of issues that remain unaddressed. The technology issue is the big one, especially as they are trying to sell this as taking place in the prime universe. Even the Enterprise, even though it’s clearly meant to be the prime version and not the film version, has bells and whistles that were lacking in the original. This wouldn’t be that much of an issue if not for the fact DS9, TNG and Enterprise went out of their way to replicate the 1960s look of tech and design. Unless they play a timey wimey trick and suggest this is an alternate universe or give us some reason why Starfleet tech reverted, it’ll be a hard sell. And yes, it is nitpicky. Welcome to Trek fandom (a fellow named Phil Farrand published an entire series of Nitpicker’s Guide books in the 1990s listing literally thousands of things fans spotted in TOS, TNG and DS9; my name is even listed in one of them as a contributor).
There’s also the matter of the characters. So far the only real standouts for me are Tilly (who finally becomes - for me - a great character in the finale; she even gets away with swearing this week because, whereas the earlier F-bombs were forced and unnecessary, having her utter “shit” - which, to be fair, Kirk uttered in Star Trek IV - felt natural for the scene), Saru (who is the new Odo), and Ash Tyler (give that guy an Emmy nomination, someone), at least in terms of ongoing characters. Stamets is interesting too, but still a bit uneven. And Lorca was my favourite, but... yeah.... The rest are still rather character-less - we don’t even know the names of half the regular bridge crew. Empress Phillipa is a great character who I can imagine is being set up to be a recurring big bad-who-may-not-be-completely-bad; basically, Discovery’s equivalent of Q. Rainn Wilson was good as Mudd, but better in his second episode.
And Michael has yet to grow on me, which is concerning since she’s supposed to be the lead. I appreciate the fact that she’s embodying the Starfleet ideal, and her “find another way” attitude when dealing with Starfleet’s gambit to destroy the Klingon homeworld puts her on the same level with the likes of Picard, Sisko and Janeway. And I like the fact she got a pardon. So from a character perspective she’s great. But I’m still finding her a bit too dry, which may be more an issue with the performance than the character herself. To be fair, Patrick Stewart was stiff as a board for the first few years until he found his rhythm and stopped playing Picard like a character in a Shakespeare play. Similarly, Avery Brooks didn’t really become Sisko until - ironically - he started playing him more like his other famous TV character, Hawk from Spenser for Hire (after keeping the shaved head and beard from filming a Spenser reunion film during a DS9 hiatus). So Sonequa Martin-Green is in very good company.
One more though: I think it’ll be a mistake giving the captain’s chair to someone other than Saru. Why can’t we have TV Trek’s first truly alien captain? He was amazing during the Mirror Universe, is the only character other than Michael to get a really detailed backstory, and I don’t really want to see some big name brought in to be the new captain just for the sake of having a big name.
Finally, we’re left with that cliffhanger. Clearly we’re going to be introduced soon to a new Mr. Spock, unless they convince Zachary Quinto to come in. Similarly, we may be lining up to see recast versions of other Cage-era Trek characters; Pike for sure, but also Number One (maybe she’ll finally get a name), Dr. Boyce, Yeoman Colt and (I can’t imagine they won’t try to make a connection here) one Lt. Jose Tyler.
I’m certainly looking forward to seeing where the show goes. I admit the show was trying my patience; I did not really like the first half dozen episodes. But once Tilly and Stamets shared that F-bomb around episode 5, things turned around and now it’s a show I’m looking forward to seeing again, whenever they get around to filming Season 2.

2020 NFL Draft Big Board
For years I’ve been tracking NFL Draft websites and their big boards and aggregating their boards to make 1 master big board. Unfortunately, earlier this year I decided to shut down the site but since I still have the information I figured I would continue the tradition right here on Packernet. Below is my board. the full board has 717 prospects which have been cut down to only players with 2 or more rankings bringing us down to 381 prospects, and then sorted based on highest average rank.

(CNN)One of the two women who survived a deadly small plane crash in southern California on Monday was found in the bedroom of a home the plane crashed into, Riverside Fire Department Capt. Tyler Reynolds said Tuesday.
The woman, who was on board the plane when it went down in a neighborhood near Riverside Municipal Airport, suffered third-degree burns to 90% of her body, Reynolds said.
The other survivor was found near the crash scene and aided by residents who assisted firefighters with the rescue, Reynolds said. Both women are in critical condition.
Three others on the plane were killed, fire officials said. The victims include an adult male, an adult female, and a teenage female, Reynolds said. No one on the plane has been identified and officials weren’t sure if they were all part of the same family. Officials had said four were killed, but later corrected the number.
The Cessna 310 crashed about a half-mile northeast of the airport Monday afternoon, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said Monday. It had departed Riverside en route to San Jose.
Four homes were damaged in the crash, Reynolds said. Two were destroyed by fire, while two others sustained minor exterior damage.
No one on the ground was hurt, fire officials said, though more than a dozen residents were displaced, according to Riverside City Councilman Mike Soubirous.
Those on board the plane had been in southern California for a cheerleading competition at Disneyland, Riverside Fire Chief Michael Moore said Monday.
“This is supposedly a happy time and then just to have a tragic incident like this, and into one of these Riverside residences, it’s really a sad case for us,” Moore said.
The investigation
A team from the National Transportation Safety Board, which arrived at the scene Tuesday morning, is investigating. The agency began gathering perishable information from the site, including witness statements, said Stephen Stein, an NTSB air safety investigator.
Stein said the investigation is in the early stages. Making a determination on the cause of the crash could take more than 18 months.
Once the wreckage is recovered, he said, investigators will gather archived information related to the pilot, the plane and environmental conditions.
At this point, investigators don’t know who was flying the plane, Stein said.
The aircraft had a full tank of fuel, causing the fire to burn fiercely. Investigators also want to assess the neighborhood in case of dropped plane parts, as debris was scattered in the impact.
“The airplane itself … it’s in quite a few pieces spread over a debris field,” Stein said. “It spreads about 100 feet, maybe 150 feet.”
The crash happened at 4:41 p.m. Monday (7:41 p.m. ET) on Central and Streeter avenues, Lt. Charles Payne of the Riverside City Police Department said.
Witness Brian Marsh told CNN affiliate KTLA that he saw the plane fall from the sky.
“As soon as it turned, it almost stalled,” Marsh said. “It just turned and went straight toward the ground. It looked like they tried to pull out of it, but it was too late.”
Traci Zamora, who lives in the neighborhood, heard the crash.
“I was inside the house and it shook our whole house like an earthquake,” she told CNN over Facebook. “It is all so surreal.”
Another resident, Chloe Hirohata told CNN in an email, “I heard an explosion, witnessed a large plume of smoke coming from the scene and rushed over.”
