"We are the children of Fritz Lang and Werner Von Braun. We are the link between the ’20s and the ‘80s. All change in society passes through a sympathetic collaboration with tape recorders, synthesizers and telephones. Our reality is an electronic reality." - Kraftwerk

oh my god. and at the same time planet rock samples KRAFTWERK.....
(the hook can be heard around 2:25)
"planet rock" (1982) is considered a pioneering song in the history of hip-hop along with the sugarhill gang's "rapper's delight" (1979). its influence can be directly traced to 21st century electronic movements, such as house, techno, breakbeat, afrobeat, drum and bass, and jungle.
afterwards, a number of electro oriented groups and recordings followed suit, though none came close to the vision of "planet rock" - except perhaps, afrika bambaataa's own follow-up "looking for the perfect beat".
more recently, in 2021 city girls sampled planet rock in their song twerkulator.
