#took a trip down memory lane. and my brother and i watched the fucking kurko no basket movie we never saw before #it was awful #midoriama kisa and tako (im definitely spelling all of their names wrong. probably also mispelled the title) are still the best though #my brother and i basically forgot a majority of the characters' names too but we still had our nicknames for them #after that we watched the magical boys anime #'Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!' ...yeah. #we've seen all the seasons + the movie except the newest one because they tried to push new characters??? #and they all sucked #ANyway #miscellaneous #my parents are in flordia until tuesday so we uh. did nothing today except play civ and rewatch anime we watched when i was in high school #work starts on tuesday so ........ #the fucking cute high earth defense club second opening is stuck in my head #*slaps face* anyway.. laundry in the morning and then i'll force myself to drive to the nearest state park to take a walk lol

1. How were you introduced to the series?

More than 10 years ago, I was visiting my cousins’ family for part of the summer. My older cousin brought me to the public library and provided some book recommendations that we borrowed and read through together, including the Fruits Basket manga! :D (I also got introduced to anime that summer ^^)

Really, she introduced me to it at the perfect time—I was going through a very rough time, and (similarly to Yuki and Kisa) found a lot of comfort and wisdom in the Furuba characters’ words and actions.

8. Favorite manga chapter?

(Spoilers below)

Haha this is cliché, but chapter 136 because it’s THE happy ending, where we get to see all of the zodiac and how happy they are for Tohru and Kyo and the love and joy they wish for them and the steps they are taking towards their own happiness. It’s so clear, for instance, how much Hiro has matured (from the time we meet him) in that chapter! And it’s a trip down memory lane, coming full circle from the start of the series, bitter and sweet just like graduation (fitting, considering the main trio + Arisa + Saki graduate at the beginning of the chapter), and Yuki finally says Tohru’s name, and we get to see Tohru and Kyo still so happy even two generations later, and I’m just always a mess by the time I reach the end of the manga ^^;;

I also really like chapter 72 (go Yuki, Ayame, and Mayuko!!) and chapter 130 (bittersweet reactions to the curse ending, but also like yay they can finally hug people without transforming!!!!) ^-^
