Pairing: Katarina x Maria Title: The Name Is Claes, Katarina Claes

Set in an alternate version of the Black Flag DLC where Maria knew The Captain.

Maria paused at the voice she heard greeting her with a condescending, amused tone that she had definitely heard used on others before.

Turning, she was surprised to see the blue eyes of her friend shining with mischief as she stood with an imposing menace. Even without her bandages and decommissioned naval uniform, there was no mistaking The Captain for anyone else.

"Ca..." she began, only to cut herself off, realizing that whoever her friend was in this world was definitely not supposed to be recognized as The Captain.

"Lady Katarina Claes," she offered imperiously, before approaching Maria and adjusting the bow on Maria's dress, "It's a pleasure to meet such a decorated captain as yourself, Miss Pirate."

"Miss Maria Campbell, and the pleasure is mine, milady," Maria replied with a textbook perfect gentleman's bow, including taking the Lady's hand and kissing it, "I hope we can come to know one another better..."

🔑She showed us Nadezda's paintings and background story of them

REFLECTION

Through this exhibition, we learned a lot about our most important artist and how political and social circumstances effected on her work. Even though I am not interested in art so much, this activity inspired me to reflect on the value and role of art in our lives. For me this was enjoyable experience, because the curator in very interesting way and chronologically told us stories from Nadežda's life in order to better understand her artistic creation.

Sonntag 3.9.2023

Die Nacht war angenehm ruhig, nach einem Kaffee geht die Fahrt weiter.

Unser erster Halt ist Göteborg, die zweitgrösste Stadt von Schweden. Wir finden einen zentralen Parkplatz und spazieren durch die Stadt. Es findet ein Marathon statt, der mitten durch die Stadt führt. Einige Wege sind nur schwer passierbar. Trotzdem erhalten wir einen guten Eindruck vom Ort, der alte Mauern und moderne Bauten vereint.

Weiter geht die Fahrt Richtung Norden mit dem Ziel Oslo. Auf einen Kiesparkplatz im Vorort Ekeberg treffen Karhu und Nemo wieder aufeinander. Unser Bus und der Bus von Katarina, Sonja‘s Schwester.

Die kommenden zweieinhalb Wochen werden wir gemeinsam (inklusive Wilson und Pepsi, Katarina‘s Hunde) durch Norwegen reisen, unter der erfahrenen Reiseführung von Katarina, die Teile des Landes schon bereist hat, und seit ca 20 Jahren in Skandinavien wohnt.

Ein kurzer Spaziergang bringt uns noch in eine Pizzeria wo wir das Wiedersehen feiern und den Abend geniessen.

Are there any non-canon/non-endgame ships in your story that you'd ever expand on in an AU?

What a great question! I have this bad habit of playing around with cas genetics of couples when I'm bored. A lot of times it's the "what if" combos.

I couldn't answer this without starting off mentioning the Archer/Eleanor AU that I did for this very reason lol. It was a lot of fun to see how key points in the story changed all because they ended up together.

The other couples that I've played around with and can share are Ryland and Rochelle (@atreanroyals) and Donovan and Katarina. I've already shared the Ryland/Rochelle photo of their potential children and how their life would have ended up (aka Trashland stays Trashland). The Donovan/Katarina photo is them with their three girls. This is what would have happened had Kristopher not made Ryland break up Don and Katarina.

I also played around with genetics of Kristopher's older brother (the one that died). He would of had a son and two daughters with his oldest being the ginger beauty pictured. I think it would have been really fascinating to see how this story would have played out had Kristopher not become king.

I've played around with and have screenshots of a couple more non-canon/non-endgame couples but I can't share them with you yet because of SpOiLeRs.

Honorable mention: It would be interesting to play around with how things would be different had Donovan been betrothed to Eleanor instead of Ryland. I honestly think they would make a horrible couple.

Det Gula Huset

Konstnärerna träffades under sommaren för att känna av rummen i det idylliska gula huset, det var varmt och luften stod stilla. Gula villan eller Rektorsvillan som den också kallas är placerad på andra sidan av en lång gräsmatta mittemot Wiks slott. Region Uppsala firar 100 år på Wik med en kulturfest för folket och det är startpunkten för årets Konst tar plats 2023. Projektet som nu är inne på sitt sjätte år syftar till att skapa möjligheter för konstnärer att ställa ut sin konst på platser som i sin tur saknar tillgång till samtidskonst.

Forslund och Staffans är medlemmar i Uppsala konstnärsklubb och är verksamma i Uppsala sedan länge. Forslund har sin ateljé i Hospitalet i Ulleråker med sin konstnärsgrupp Haka. Staffans har sin ateljé tillsammans med RackarArt i Rackarberg.  Eliska är från Slovakien men bor och är verksam i Stockholm med sin studio i Ateljéföreningen Detroit. Alla tre är verksamma i konstnärsgrupper, sammansatta i olika konstellationer med utställningar och projektprogram, både nationella och internationella arbeten.

Som projektledare och curatorer för Konst tar plats 2023 har Katarina Sundkvist Zohari och Helena Laukkanen valt ut dem för att de tycks ha något gemensamt. Deras färgpalett är dov med starka grafiska linjer, en påtaglig svärta och något distinkt. Men deras konstnärliga språk och innehåll är helt olika vilket vi tycker är spännande! Det finns ett sökande och ett tillbakablickande i utgångspunkterna men gestaltar det på ett mycket påtagligt och närvarande sätt. Var och en för sig, på en plats.

Wik har både ett slott och en folkhögskola med både anor och närtidshistoria där man frestas att blicka bakåt. Gula villan är en pittoresk villa som får vem som helst att leka med tanken på hur det vore att leva där nu. Tänk att få inta sin frukost på balkongen en solig morgon.

Att sätta samman tre konstnärer i denna idylliska scen behöver en tyngd, en slags kraft och kontrast. Forslund, Staffans och Kovacikova och besökarna får tillfälle att berikas och mötas genom konst. Ett möte där det som är bortom orden ändå blir en gemensam sinnlig upplevelse.

Another new character that I’ve not done much with: Katarina ‘Rina’ from my Magical Crime Story.

1. When is the moment that you are the most happiest?

‘Surrounded by friends and doing something together, even if it’s just chilling,’ I admit, a small smile curling easily onto my lips.

2.Do you have any guilty pleasures?

‘Do salt and vinegar crisps count?’ I ask, before gently tapping on my teeth. ‘Because those things are good, and I should probably eat less of them.’

3. What do you look in a partner?

‘Someone kind and thoughtful,’ I say simply. ‘Taller than me simply because then at least one of us can reach high things, but it’s not the end of the world if they aren’t – heels are a thing. Just, as long as I like them in general.’

4. what is your relationship with your family?

‘Decent enough,’ I say, though I can hear the uncertainty behind my own voice. It’s because of them that I’m here, really. But, they do write to me and stuff, which is better than could be said for some.

5. When did you make your first friend?

For a moment, I’m silent as I try remembering the first that isn’t somebody else’s memory; a story shared because it’s too far back and I was too young for it to stick.

‘I remember playing in the park when I was about seven, and basically joining myself into a game with people who looked like they were having fun. Ben was there, and he let me tag along without so much as batting an eyelid. So, I think then.’

6. Where you ever betrayed by someone you loved? Did you betray someone you loved?

Betrayal is a difficult thing; for some the worst ones are the little things that shouldn’t matter but they really do.

‘I don’t think so,’ I say after a few moments, not even able to dredge up something small and so insignificant that it might be funny. ‘Unless being sent here – the school - counts, but I don’t think it does.

‘And I don’t I’ve betrayed anybody myself.’

7.Are you a leader or a follower?

‘Leader,’ I say without a moment’s hesitation, and then feel a slight blush flooding my cheeks. ‘Only because, I hate indecision, and following sometimes means that that happens without you having the choice to stop it.’

8.Do you have someone that you ca talk your problems?

‘Not really,’ I say, but even as the words come, I know there are a few people I could talk to. There was a time when it was my father, but it’s become harder to find the time to speak to him recently. ‘I guess Tamsin?’ Though, I’m not sure if that’s because she was the first name I could think of, or because I actually think she’d offer good advice.

9. What do you like to do in your free time?

‘Nothing,’ I say, a soft chuckle behind the word. ‘I guess I like relaxing, and if that means having a book or watching a movie or something, then so be it. But, I also like days with friends, exploring and stuff. I guess it’s really mood dependant.’

10.Do you lie often?

‘Not too often,’ I say, because little white lies are all too easy to come tumbling out, and there are some things that are best left unsaid in the school if there’s any hope of getting out of it.

11. Have you ever manipulated anyone?

‘Not that I can think of,’ I say, mulling the question over nonetheless. But nothing obvious comes to mind.

12. Would die for your friends?

I exhale slowly. ‘It’s a romantic notion,’ I admit, thought part of me knows that I probably would, that I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from running headfirst into danger if it might help save a friend. ‘But probably not the best of ideas.’

She enjoyed participating in the women’s ski program at Jiminy Peak with her “ski buddies” well into her 70’s. Skiing has always been a family passion, one at which Lucia excelled. Her photographic journals show her keen eye and her curious nature. Undeterred by her husband’s refusal to fly, Lucia traveled intrepidly with her friend Barbara to experience animals in their habitats: to Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana and Namibia several times to Antarctica for the penguins, from both South America and then Australia and New Zealand and to Churchill, Manitoba for the polar bears. She and Jim would go to the horse races at Saratoga several times a week, where her bets would always be on the gray mares. She rode for years her last and favorite horse was Ivory Lad. Lucia herself was an accomplished horsewoman. Their wedding celebration included a horse-drawn carriage ride to the reception at the Plaza Hotel. In her early career, Lucia worked at American Heritage in New York City, where she met and married her husband, Jim. Lucia attended the Madeira School, graduated from Vassar College and then went to the Yale School of Drama. More widely, family members fought with distinction in the Mexican, Civil and Spanish-American Wars as well as in World War I. Her family helped shape the city with their involvements in its legal, political and business activities. and Lucia Manneschmidt Coulter, Lucia was raised in Greensburg, PA where her Scotch-Irish ancestors settled in 1791. (Jim) Scala, her granddaughters Maria, Emma and Katarina, all of San Francisco, CA, and by her sister, Joan Pittman, of Sullivan’s Island, SC.īorn on Mato John H.
