Guys. I can feel it already. THIS is the year. This is the year that Jonathan Harker will go on his business trip with no issue. Just a lovely train ride through Europe where he collects paprika recipies for Mina, meets some friendly, living people looking to buy properties in England, and then returns home safely.
Some art for @see-arcane 's stupendous Blood of My Blood Novella "Never Loved", which ya'll should go read it first and the come back here and scream like I did
I made this last year when reading Dracula Daily, but I was too much of a coward to post it. Now I am no longer held back by earthly matters such as "reputation".
This is the original text from the book, but wildly misinterpreted. enjoy
(Mem., get recipe for Mina.) I asked the waiter, and he said it was called “paprika hendl,” and that, as it was a national dish, I should be able to get it anywhere along the Carpathians.
I had for breakfast more paprika, and a sort of porridge of maize flour which they said was "mamaliga," and egg-plant stuffed with forcemeat, a very excellent dish, which they call "impletata." (Mem., get recipe for this also.)
Recipe blog casually interrupted by nightmares and the howling of wild dogs. I’m sure it’s nothing.
Obsessed with the idea that a modern Dracula reimagining could have Count Dracula tossing Jonathan’s smart phone out the window, declaring it to be a “foul bauble of man’s vanity” and the bit would still work. XD
