i dont like jeanne because she destroyed a family home and we've established that she was an obsessed fan who invaded dean's life,but then deana always speaks about her lovingly and called her mom which i hate cuz she literally destroyed her mom's life as she lost her husband and children, i dont think i'd lose my mom to a crazy fan then call her mom when she becomes my step mother. why does deana like her so much? and do you know if her sisters loved her like this? i know craig didn't like her

I think it's because Deana was too young to fully have experienced life with her Betty, and as a full family with Betty and Dean. Craig, Gail, and Claudia were old enough to form opinions about Jeanne from the start. Craig ran away at some point, but I think Claudia and Gail were neutral in their feelings. I really don't recall seeing anything about it.

All Jeanne did was lie about how they met, and the marital situation he was in at the time. The whole thing was sneaky and underhanded especially when they announced the wedding, and Betty wasn't even thinking about a divorce. Then the way Jeanne kept following him around after it was clear he was cheating on her with June Allyson was weird, yet hilarious. She was definitely a homewrecker, and it's worse when you know the man had a pregnant wife at home at one point during their affair. She had no shame. The same can be said for June Allyson tbh, but that was a fling, and she wasn't setting out to marry him hopefully.

But like sending the kids off to boarding school is like such a stereotypical evil stepmother thing to do, and I can't believe Deana praises her either.

I also love the fact that Dean's mom was like, one day another woman is going to steal him away from Jeanne. lol And his parents clearly liked Betty so much, that they stayed with her.

But like I have wondered and have been so perplexed about why Deana talks about Jeanne more than Betty, and like casual fans assume in the comment section on Deana's posts, that Jeanne is her biological mom, and it makes me cringe.

I don't like her. But she made Dean happyish, so it is what it is. Jeanne lied and manipulated her way to becoming Dean's wife, so it's a little different than Sandee/Sam. She followed Dean around the country and Dean was cheating on her with multiple women, so it wasn't as if he was like omg this is the one I've been waiting for. They probably got along better after their divorce it seems.

Why didn't jerry and jeanne like each other ?

I mean Jerry convinced Dean to go back to Jeanne a couple of times, so I don't think he fully disliked her. He sent her a mink coat in Dean's name once. They were jealous of each other though, and likely because of the other's time they got to spend with Dean.

Jerry and Patti didn't like her initially because she was basically a homewrecker, and they were good friends with Betty. Betty said she was basically tricked into getting a divorce. Jeanne kind of treated his kids from the first marriage not that well for awhile there. (Although Deana considers her, her mom). Sure Dean loved her, but it was sort of an entrapment marriage where she basically followed him around the country and pushed herself on him. Otherwise she likely would've ended up as one of the long string of women he slept with. Years later during their marriage she was quoted as saying that she didn’t “really understand him and nobody could”, along with other questionable things she said about Dean. Jeanne was always telling Dean he could do better than Jerry, and I would think that Jerry would have a problem with that of course. Dean married a female version of Jerry in some ways. Patti Lewis even pointed that out, and Jerry I believe said something about them being a lot alike as well. Some people that are alike can clash. I think the animosity probably started when Jerry went on Dean and Jeanne's honeymoon with them. lol

He even took Dean away on business during their anniversaries, which couldn't have been fun for her understandably.

Yes to: because of the time she spent with Dean.

Yes to: romantic feelings for Dean which equaled jealousy of Jeanne, whether the jealousy was inadvertent or not. I don't think he like set out to be jealous of Jeanne. It just came out. lol

I don't believe Dean and Jerry ever had sexual contact (unless you consider the shower photos sexual contact lol), and we can only speculate on if they did or not. I know those photos made a lot of straight men, reconsider their stance on Dean and Jerry's relationship. haha

I just think that Dean wouldn't have let it go that far, because his feelings in that area were closed off. He loved being around men, and was close to a few in his life (Jerry, Mack Gray, Frank Sinatra) but it seems he didn't often discuss feelings. Tony Curtis and Jerry would be a different thing to me, because I think Tony and Jerry totally would have experimented together. We know Tony was bisexual. Jerry at the very least was bi-romantic I think.

I'm new here but I can't stop laughing anytime I see Jeanne in a photo cause she looks like how people parody those old ads with the typical 50s housewife.
