Wyndham Championship Betting Favorites, Underdogs and Darkhorses
The Wyndham Championship is the final event of the PGA Tour regular season and one final chance for each golfer to gain a berth in the FedEx Cup playoffs and to secure their status for the 2022 PGA season.
It’s a relatively easy course, and the winner of the event this weekend should shoot better than 20-below par, with only two par-fives that are easily reachable. But who exactly does this kind of course favor?
Webb Simpson.
Favorites to Win Wyndham Championship

It’s a little simplistic to say that Webb Simpson is made for the course at Sedgefield Country Club, but he does have a pair of runner-up finishes here and a win 10 years ago. He also has been good with the putter this season, which will be key to getting your number low enough to win. He’s the deserved favorite.
Hideki Matsuyama is second, coming off his showing at the Tokyo Olympics. He missed out on a medal in his home country but was in the seven-player playoff for the bronze medal. His good play in Tokyo combined with his good season on Tour makes him an interesting play this weekend.
Underdogs and Darkhorses
Russell Henley is paying +3500, almost three times what you get for a bet on Simpson. But with a top-20 finish at the U.S. Open, the Travelers, and the John Deere, he’s played very well this summer. Ignore his struggles at The British Open. Henley is a much better putter on the Bermuda grass of Greensboro, and he will be in the mix when the weekend rolls around.
Si-Woo Kim is paying even better at +4000, and he has a win on this course, coming in 2016. He has struggled since The Memorial, which is why he is paying so well here. But this is one of the places where he thrives. Along with that win five years ago are a pair of top-5 finishes in each of the last two years. At +4000, he is simply too solid a play to ignore.
Keep an eye on Jhonattan Vegas at +5000. With the biggest names on Tour over in Japan, he has had quite the run, with four top-20 finishes in five starts and a pair of runner-ups. With most of the big names still missing and Vegas with a top-10 finish here at Sedgefield, give him a look this weekend. He has the game to match this course.

Lost&Found is a product of years spent touring the world, in vans and clubs, in a youthful delirium. After more than 15 years playing in one of South Africa’s most loved and successful rock bands, The Parlotones’ Glen Hodgson takes front of stage in a new project – Lost&Found.
As the name suggests, the Lost&Found EP was a journey for Glen. Not long after the birth of the band, Glen took a path of sobriety, as a part of re discovering who he was and where he was going. “Recording and performing the songs was therapeutic for me because I was getting a lot of pent up emotion out after years of pushing it down. It was a much-needed emotional release. It kind of felt like I was rediscovering myself after years of just floating through life, drinking too much etc. Glen recorded the 6-track EP at Anti-Motion Studios with David Grevler. Soul searching and therapeutic, these 6 songs run the gamut of Glen’s emotional release. It is available for purchase on iTunes.
After touring Johannesburg as a Solo act, Glen felt limited and wanted to push the boundaries of what he was creating. Enter drummer Jason Oosthuizen – a South African session drummer/musician described as one of the most explosive live drummers South Africa has ever seen. Jason also currently drums for The Black Cat Bones and has worked with Van Coke Kartel, Fokofpolisiekar & One Day Remains.
The entrance of Jason into Lost&Found is the next step in the evolution of a band that has just touched the tip of their own musical iceberg.

Five weeks after losing his father Peter to Covid, Branden Grace wins his second career title on the PGA Tour. Almost five years after his first success (RBC Heritage in April 2016) the South African player in Rio Grande thanks to an eagle and a birdie in the final match made the Puerto Rico Open his own. Important success for the 32-year-old from Pretoria who returns to the top 100 players in the world jumping from 147 / a to 83 / a position.
Branden Grace, Puerto Rico Open
On the course of the Grand Reserve Country Club (par 72), in an event that involved many of the second lines of men's golf - with the big protagonists at the WGC - Grace with a partial bogey free final highlighted by a 66 (-6) on a total of 269 (-19) outperformed Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas in the photo finish, second with 270 (-18). Third place (272, -16) for the American Grayson Murray and the Puerto Rican Rafael Campos, both in the lead after the "moving day". The feat at the Puerto Rico Open also earned Grace a check for $ 540,000 on a total prize money of 3,000,000.
Meanwhile, Collin Morikawa wins the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession in Florida and emulates his legend of all time, Woods, becoming the only player - along with Tiger - to win a Major (the PGA Championship in 2020) and a WGC before of 25 years. In Bradenton, Morikawa's show company dedicates its success to "The Big Cat", in the most difficult days for Woods, involved in a serious car accident.
"Tiger means everything to me. Luckily he is better now and I hope he can recover as soon as possible. Every time in life we lose people we love without thanking them enough for what they did. My grandfather passed away a month ago and this I want to dedicate victory to him and to Woods ". This is Morikawa's tribute at the end of the race.
After having mortgaged the success on the "moving day" the 24-year-old from Los Angeles with a partial final of 69 (-3) out of a total of 270 (-18), he crossed the line first with three strokes ahead of a trio of 'pursuers composed of compatriots Brooks Koepka and Billy Horschel, as well as the Norwegian Viktor Hovland, all second with 273 (-15). Fifth place (274, -14) for Scottie Scheffler, 6 / o (276, -12) for Rory McIlroy (for him the "WGC Slam is postponed), Louis Oosthuizen and Webb Simpson. Top 10 for Patrick Reed (defending champion) , 9 / o (277, -11) as Jason Kokrak.

Betting Odds to Win WGC Dell Technologies Match Play
The PGA Tour makes a stop in Austin, Texas, this week for the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play, the only match play event on the PGA calendar. It is a field of the best golfers in the world, with 59 of the top 64 ranked players participating in this week’s event.
Only Brooks Koepka, Adam Scott, Gary Woodland, and Justin Rose opted to skip the tournament, and Tiger Woods will, of course, also be absent.

Tournament Format
The field of 64 golfers is split into 16 foursomes, with each of the four golfers playing a round robin against one another Wednesday through Friday.
The winner of each foursome will then advance to the quarterfinals, and a single-elimination bracket will be set, with both the quarters and semifinals being played on Saturday. The championship match and the third-place match will take place on Sunday, with $1.8 million going to the winner.
Foursomes to Watch
Dustin Johnson is the number one golfer in the world and was a winner at this event in 2017, and his group includes Kevin Na, Robert MacIntyre, and Adam Long.
The winner at Sawgrass, Justin Thomas, is the betting favorite to win in Austin, but his group is far from an easy road. Louis Oosthuizen finished third at the U.S. Open in September and just finished sixth at the WGC Workday Championship.
Kevin Kisner is the third member of the group, and he was the winner of this event in 2019. The fourth member of this foursome is Matt Kuchar, who was the runner-up to Kisner in 2019, the last time this event was held.
A good longshot opportunity is with Scottie Scheffler (+4000) in a foursome that includes Jason Day, Xander Schauffele, and Andy Sullivan. Scheffler went to college at the University of Texas, so this is a bit of homecoming for him.
Also, Schauffele is the highest-ranked golfer in the group, but he finished 39th at the WGC Workday Championship and is coming off a missed cut at The Players Championship.
It’s also worth taking a look at Brian Harman (+7000) in a group with Patrick Cantlay, Hideki Matsuyama, and Carlos Ortiz. Harman is coming off a third-place finish at The Players Championship, and it’s worth noting that the designer of TPC Sawgrass, Pete Dye, also designed the course at Austin Country Club.
