The 90's of Prince presented us with the problems the superstars of the previous eras had despite the fact most of them had many favourable circumstances then. Still, there were some cases, such as The Beach Boys, which made you sigh then. The group I mentioned, for instance, had a reputation, though the latter was built on their past. Stars & Stripes Vol. 1 showed that and, to be honest, they did have a correct idea, i.e. they covered their own hits with some modern country singers. However, they botched this principle immensely, because the entire thing feels like a fan karaoke at some times. Sure, there are some collaborations, such as the piece you hear on the link, where you can trace the best possible version of Stars & Stripes Vol. 1. Sadly, even these settled for good enough.

The latest episode of Married to Medicine brought back a familiar face as Quad Webb made her grand return. Phaedra Parks wasted no time in updating Quad on the latest gossip surrounding her ex-husband, Dr. Gregory Lunceford, and his new fiancee, Lateasha Lunceford aka Sweet Tea. It seemed like Sweet Tea was ready to give Dr. G everything he needed, including babies! While Quad played it cool at first, there was a surprise twist awaiting everyone.
Toya Bush-Harris had two major successes in this episode. The first was having an open and honest conversation about sex with her teenage sons - on important milestone for any parent. The second success came with the launch of her wine club, which ended on a high note despite some underlying tensions.
As we approach Sweet Tea's big day, let's dive into all the details from Married to Medicine Season 10, Episode 3.
To celebrate Dr. G's upcoming wedding, Toya decided to throw him a bachelor party while simultaneously organizing a pamper party for Sweet Tea. However, Sweet Tea seemed confused about what exactly a pamper party entailed but followed instructions to dress in lingerie nonetheless.
Meanwhile, Dr. Simone Whitmore and Dr. Jacqueline Walters enjoyed smoothies together while discussing Sweet Tea's situation. Simone mentioned that Sweet Tea felt overwhelmed with wedding planning and even wanted an assistant for grocery shopping - prompting them both to reminisce about their own experience when they were younger.
Simone expressed the need for Sweet Tea to step up into "grown woman status" sooner rather than later since she had responsibilities like running a private practice and taking care of her family at that age.
Dr. Heavenly Kimes met up with Sweet Tea for dinner where they kicked things off with shots - lots of shots! As the drinks flowed, Sweet Tea spilled all the tea about her relationship with Dr. G. She revealed that he complained about paying for everything and exhibited controlling behavior, even going so far as to make up a story about being robbed just to remind her to turn on the alarm. Heavenly recognized these patterns from Dr. G's past relationship with Quad and didn't want Sweet Tea to go through the same struggles.
During a family dinner, Simone, Cecil, and their sons Michael and Miles discussed college and future plans. While Cecil encouraged them to take their time in making decisions. Simone was eager for them to graduate and move out of the house as soon as possible - leading to a disagreement between the couple regarding their parenting approach.
On another note, Heavenly's daughter Alaura expressed her desire to attend college out of state but faced resistance from her parents who warned her about potential dangers in Florida - including windstorms and banking crises! They hoped their warnings would convince Alaura to stay closer to home for college.
Dr. Eugene Harris took his sons shopping in an attempt to bond with them. However, his attempt at relating by using a Steve Buscemi reference fell flat when they asked him never to talk like that again. The boys also had some follow-up questions from their previous sex talk but quickly realized it was better suited for mom's explanation.
Meanwhile, Toya prepared for Sweet Tea's pamper party alongside Phaedra. They dressed up in fancy lingerie while spreading rose petals on the ground before several shirtless men in red boxers arrived - ready for some pampering activities rather than anything sexual. Simone, Jackie, and Dr. Alicia Egolum joined the party where they were treated with foot massages and back rubs by the attentive men present.
As Toya's event came alive with relaxation vibes, it was time for Dr. G's bachelor party! After raising a toast "to the next chapter", the boys hopped onto a party bus and were greeted by strippers. The twerking and excitement reached new heights, with Dr. G joking about his pants potentially coming down - much to the amusement of everyone present.
However, across town at Sweet Tea's pamper party, things took a turn for the worse when she received news about an unexpected change in the wedding venue that would cost an additional fourteen thousand dollars. Overwhelmed by this revelation, Sweet Tea lashed out at her sister Kaneasha, resulting in a heated argument that required intervention from others attending the party. Dr. Jackie could be seen repeatedly telling Kaneasha, "that's your sister."
Heavenly then shared with the group that Sweet Tea had mentioned Dr. G's controlling behavior and expressed doubts about their readiness for marriage just two days before their wedding. Simone felt Heavenly was being shady by bringing up these concerns so close to the big day.
But amidst all this drama, another bombshell dropped as Quad unexpectedly arrived at the party! Toya was not pleased with her presence and questioned how she got invited in the first place. Phaedra admitted to inviting Quad due to everyone's curiosity about her whereabouts.
Quad and Sweet Tea engaged in friendly conversation as if they were old friends - further fueling Toya's frustrarion. Toya made it clear that Quad wasn't welcome there or at the upcoming wedding either.
While tensions escalated between Toya and Quad, Heavenly recognized it was a lost cause trying to mediate between them giben their history of accusations against each other. As tensions rose further, Toya asked Phaedra to escort Quad out of the party - leading to an intense exchange of words between them.
In her confessional interview, Quad declared Toya as her enemy but chose not to escalate matters further during this eventful evening before bidding farewell with a simple "bye now". However, it seems like we haven't seen the last of Quad just yet!

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
Song by Gil Scott-Heron
You will not be able to stay home, brother
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and
Skip out for beer during commercials
Because the revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In four parts without commercial interruptions
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
Blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John Mitchell
General Abrams and Spiro Agnew
To eat hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be brought to you by the
Schaefer Award Theatre and will not star
Natalie Woods and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs
The revolution will not make you look five pounds thinner
Because the revolution will not be televised, brother
There will be no pictures of you and Willie May
Pushing that shopping cart down the block on the dead run
Or trying to slide that color TV into a stolen ambulance
NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32
Or report from 29 districts
The revolution will not be televised
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
Brothers on the instant replay
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
Brothers on the instant replay
There will be no pictures of Whitney Young
Being run out of Harlem on a rail with a brand new process
There will be no slow motion or still lifes of Roy Wilkens
Strolling through Watts in a red, black and green
Liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
For just the proper occasion
Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, and Hooterville Junction
Will no longer be so damned relevant
And women will not care if Dick finally got down with Jane
On "Search for Tomorrow" because black people
Will be in the street looking for a brighter day
The revolution will not be televised
There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock news
And no pictures of hairy armed women liberationists
And Jackie Onassis blowing her nose
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb
Or Francis Scott Key, nor sung by Glen Campbell
Tom Jones, Johnny Cash, Englebert Humperdink or the Rare Earth
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be right back
After a message about a white tornado, white lightning or white people
You will not have to worry about a dove in your bedroom
The tiger in your tank or the giant in your toilet bowl
The revolution will not go better with Coke
The revolution will not fight germs that may cause bad breath
The revolution will put you in the driver's seat
The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised
Will not be televised, will not be televised
The revolution will be no re-run, brothers
The revolution will be live

Methane emission on a cold brown dwarf
Using new observations from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), astronomers have discovered methane emission on a brown dwarf, an unexpected finding for such a cold and isolated world. Published in the journal Nature, the findings suggest that this brown dwarf might generate aurorae similar to those seen on our own planet as well as on Jupiter and Saturn.
More massive than planets but lighter than stars, brown dwarfs are ubiquitous in our solar neighborhood, with thousands identified. Last year, Jackie Faherty, a senior research scientist and senior education manager at the American Museum of Natural History, led a team of researchers who were awarded time on JWST to investigate 12 brown dwarfs. Among those was CWISEP J193518.59–154620.3 (or W1935 for short)—a cold brown dwarf 47 light years away that was co-discovered by Backyard Worlds: Planet 9 citizen science volunteer Dan Caselden and the NASA CatWISE team. W1935 is a cold brown dwarf with a surface temperature of about 400° Fahrenheit, or about the temperature at which you’d bake chocolate chip cookies. The mass for W1935 isn’t well known but it likely ranges between 6–35 times the mass of Jupiter.
After looking at a number of brown dwarfs observed with JWST, Faherty’s team noticed that W1935 looked similar but with one striking exception: it was emitting methane, something that’s never been seen before on a brown dwarf.
“Methane gas is expected in giant planets and brown dwarfs but we usually see it absorbing light, not glowing,” said Faherty, the lead author of the study. “We were confused about what we were seeing at first but ultimately that transformed into pure excitement at the discovery.”
Computer modeling yielded another surprise: the brown dwarf likely has a temperature inversion, a phenomenon in which the atmosphere gets warmer with increasing altitude. Temperature inversions can easily happen to planets orbiting stars, but W1935 is isolated, with no obvious external heat source.
“We were pleasantly shocked when the model clearly predicted a temperature inversion,” said co-author Ben Burningham from the University of Hertfordshire. “But we also had to figure out where that extra upper atmosphere heat was coming from.”
To investigate, the researchers turned to our solar system. In particular, they looked at studies of Jupiter and Saturn, which both show methane emission and have temperature inversions. The likely cause for this feature on solar system giants is aurorae, therefore, the research team surmised that they had uncovered that same phenomenon on W1935.
Planetary scientists know that one of the major drivers of aurorae on Jupiter and Saturn are high-energy particles from the Sun that interact with the planets’ magnetic fields and atmospheres, heating the upper layers. This is also the reason for the aurorae that we see on Earth, commonly referred to as the Northern or Southern Lights since they are most extraordinary near the poles. But with no host star for W1935, a solar wind cannot contribute to the explanation.
There is an enticing additional reason for the aurora in our solar system. Both Jupiter and Saturn have active moons that occasionally eject material into space, interact with the planets, and enhance the auroral footprint on those worlds. Jupiter’s moon Io is the most volcanically active world in the solar system, spewing lava fountains dozens of miles high, and Saturn’s moon Enceleadus ejects water vapor from its geysers that simultaneously freezes and boils when it hits space. More observations are needed, but the researchers speculate that one explanation for the aurora on W1935 might be an active, yet-to-be discovered moon.
“Every time an astronomer points JWST at an object, there’s a chance of a new mind-blowing discovery,” said Faherty. “Methane emission was not on my radar when we started this project but now that we know it can be there and the explanation for it so enticing I am constantly on the look-out for it. That’s part of how science moves forward.”
IMAGE....This artist concept portrays the brown dwarf W1935, which is located 47 light-years from Earth. Astronomers using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope found infrared emission from methane coming from W1935. This is an unexpected discovery because the brown dwarf is cold and lacks a host star; therefore, there is no obvious source of energy to heat its upper atmosphere and make the methane glow. The team speculates that the methane emission may be due to processes generating aurorae, shown here in red. Credit NASA, ESA, CSA, Leah Hustak (Space Telescope Science Institute)

( scott speedman, cisman, he / him ) — 🎬 just announced, mason townsend has been cast as clay morrow in the upcoming sons of anarchy reboot. the forty six year old is trending as people are debating if the trying to find amends in the bottom of a bottle, losing the star shine in a sea of forgotten faces, a deeply rooted passion that begs to take flight, braving new worlds long cast aside, worn flannel and designer denim and a smile that can charm that they are known for is enough to make them as good as original. a quick google search shows that their fans call them outgoing, but internet trolls think they’re more obsessive. i guess their newest interview for variety where they talk about their shocking return to acting after his indefinite hiatus will let people to know them better.
basics:
tw: drug/alcohol problem mentions
this is under co.
traits: reckless, romantic, flirtatious, charming, flaky, inconsistent, selfish, forgetful, addictive, intense, generous, hopeful, clever, sarcastic, insecure, earnest, independent, patient.
relationship status: it's complicated, but he's a flirt, so buckle up.
sexuality: heterosexual, unless on mdma.
religion: fuck it.
date of birth: february 2nd.
zodiac sign: aquarius.
skills & hobbies: socializing/schmoozing, drinking (day or night, oops), memorization, romantic movies, arguing, video games (retro ones, mainly), acting, watching movies, binging netflix shows, spending time with others, meeting new people, flirting, marketing.
dislikes & fears:
quirks: romance flicks make him cry. he loves the smell of fresh paint.
fun fact:
pets: none currently.
family: not necessarily in contact anymore.
credits: that 70s show (michael kelso), in the land of women (carter webb), and a few indie thriller flops no one remembers.
backstory:
tw: drinking, alcoholism, addiction
it was a cookie-cutter, white-picket fence life for middle-class mason towndsend, growing up in a close-knit community in connecticut, close enough to nyc that he felt connected to the world. he wasn't left to want for much, though due to being the middle sibling, mason was most frequently left to his own devices && sources of entertainment.
this entailed a lot ruckus, and he was an athletic, happy-going child with a flare for the dramatics. he was well-liked, and extremely popular throughout highschool, and preferred to be surrounded by people. it was evident, very quickly, he was girl crazy, and had a handful of girlfriends throughout his high school years.
after graduating (barely making it to the ceremony, having been out partying the night before and barely passing with a low grade average), mason jetted off to california, and started sleeping on couches && scamming cash when he could to pursue a dream of acting.
it took some work, but in only two whirlwind years, mason had landed his break-out role as michael kelso in that 70s show at just twenty years old. while this was a genuine dream come true, and mason was over the moon to "stick it to his family", who had always doubted him (especially good old pops), in the end, it was never his acting role that changed his life thanks to the show.
it was rose, his co-star who played jackie. as the show progressed, and they grew closer, mason fell head over heels in love with her, moreso than his long, complicated, overlapping string of girlfriends && flings before. for him, there was only rose.
then he starred in a rom-com, gaining more traction in his fame as a hollywood heartthrob. there were parties, there were interviews... then things slowed. no one sent scripts, or if they did, they cast other actors. fights with rose started, whose trajectory went only upwards. she shone, and he continued to dull in the spotlight.
he turned to drinking, and within years, a couple of failed thrilled indie films that were massive flops (if they even made it to box office) and his agent quit, claiming his career as dead.
mason went overboard, and things with rose disintegrated, as he found himself more and more miserable out of the spotlight. things soured worse with his family, friends abandoned him, and mason avoided press like the plague, eventually falling out of sight... and out of mind.
his life was a dark time for awhile. rose continued to glow, so he stopped watching tv. there were a couple of health scares, and eventually, mason couldn't recognize the man he was in the mirror anymore. when he made the decision to hire an agent, in the middle of the nostalgic revolution, watching all these other formerly silent stars come back... he felt hope again, for the first time ever, but he'd changed. mason was no longer going to be recieved as michael kelso, as he once had been. but his new agent promised this was a GOOD thing, and now, mason could be anyone.
he chose to be rose's on-screen husband, clawing his way to get there, going as far as to lie, cheat, and sabotage the competition, and snatching the role after it was officially cast as someone else. now, he's made it back to the spotlight, and he's got big plans on what to do with it.
wanted connections:
cast mates: self-explanatory! some may be bothered or suspicious how he got the role, or have been fans of that 70s show in the past and remember him?
former friends in the industry: anyone he knew before going dark && disappearing for years! so like, probably 2012/2013 was the last major contact together.
someone he slept with/casually dated during his indefinite hiatus: he'd have them sworn to secrecy by now, and probably avoids them/is embarrassed now, to have them know what he was like at his lowest. he wants to rebrand and rebuild - this will be awkward.
any other "burnout" stars returning: anyone who will accept/understand/support/encourage mason, or especially those who will relate to his struggles with drinking, failure, etc.
"sobriety" buddies: even tho mason will break his a few times...
taken connections:
his ex: rose, co-star on soa, and love of his life.

Silently floating through the universe are cosmic objects that are both too large to be planets and too small to be stars. Called brown dwarfs, these substellar objects are among the most captivating objects in the universe, and their low surface temperatures mean that most of the light they emit is infrared and thus can only be observed and characterized using infrared telescopes. Fortunately, the joint NASA/European Space Agency/Canadian Space Agency James Webb Space Telescope is an infrared-sensitive observatory, with the telescope’s powerful suite of instruments primarily observing in the near-infrared and mid-infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Recently, a team of astronomers used Webb to observe a brown dwarf called W1935 and found an infrared emission from methane in the upper atmosphere of the brown dwarf. While this isn’t an uncommon detection, W1935 does not orbit a star — meaning there isn’t an obvious source behind the emission. The team does have theories as to what could be causing the methane emission and one of the leading theories involves the production of aurorae in the upper atmosphere of W1935. The team believes that excess energy within the brown dwarf’s upper atmosphere could be what’s causing the emission, and after investigating the upper atmospheric environments of Jupiter and Saturn, the team found that the upper atmospheric heating that powers methane emissions from Jupiter and Saturn is linked to the production of aurorae. Graph showing the spectra of W1935 and W2220. Note the methane emission on the W1935 graph. (Credit: NASA/ESA/CSA/L. Hustak (STScI)) If aurorae are indeed present on W1935, they wouldn’t be the same as aurorae seen on Earth. Aurorae produced within Earth’s atmosphere are created when Earth’s magnetic field interacts with solar wind that is ejected into space by the Sun. The energetic particles that make up the solar wind are caught by Earth’s magnetosphere and fall magnetic lines near Earth’s poles. The collision of these particles with Earth’s atmosphere is what creates the iconic green swirls of Earth’s aurora. However, earth is not the only planet within our solar system that experiences aurorae. As mentioned, Jupiter and Saturn regularly experience aurorae at their poles. The processes by which Jovian and Saturnian aurorae are created are similar to those of Earth, with surrounding moons, such as Jupiter’s Io and Saturn’s Enceladus, contributing to the gas giants’ aurorae. See AlsoJWST Mission UpdatesSpace Science CoverageNSF StoreClick here to Join L2 However, in the case of W1935, there is no stellar object to produce stellar wind that could interact with the brown dwarf’s atmosphere to produce aurorae or excess atmospheric energy. The team explains that, for W1935’s methane emission to make sense, either unknown internal atmospheric phenomena or external interactions with interstellar plasma/material have to occur. So, what is so intriguing about this methane emission? Why is the team investigating its source? W1935 was investigated as part of a project led by Jackie Faherty to use Webb to investigate 12 brown dwarfs. Another brown dwarf investigated by Faherty et al., called W2220, was found to be a near clone of W1935 in composition, brightness, temperatures, and spectral features of water, ammonia, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. However, the only major difference between the two brown dwarfs was the methane emission from W1935, with W2220 showing an absorption feature. “We expected to see methane because methane is all over these brown dwarfs. But instead of absorbing light, we saw just the opposite: The methane was glowing. My first thought was, what the heck? Why is methane emission coming out of this object?” said Faherty. Brown dwarf W1935 posed a mystery. Webb found that methane in this object’s atmosphere was emitting infrared light, despite no obvious energy source. Using clues from our solar system, scientists found a possible explanation in aurorae: https://t.co/Wh2m7OTssT #AAS243 pic.twitter.com/cklsay1ZNL — NASA Webb Telescope (@NASAWebb) January 9, 2024 To further investigate the methane emission, Faherty et al. utilized computer models that modeled both W1935 and W2220. The W2220 model showed an — expected — distribution of energy throughout the entire atmosphere of the brown dwarf, wherein the atmosphere gets increasingly colder with increasing altitude. However, the W1935 model results showed the exact opposite — an unexpected and surprising result. On W1935, atmospheric temperatures get warmer and warmer with increasing altitude; a phenomenon known as temperature inversion. “This temperature inversion is really puzzling. We have seen this kind of phenomenon in planets with a nearby star that can heat the stratosphere, but seeing it in an object with no obvious external heat source is wild,” said co-author Ben Burningham of the University of Hertfordshire in England. As mentioned, given brown dwarves’ similarities to gas giants like Jupiter, the team turned to Jupiter and Saturn to investigate possible causes for the temperature inversion within W1935. Faherty et al. found that temperature inversions are prominent within Jupiter and Saturn, and current theories suggest that external heating from aurorae and internal energy transport are responsible for them. Interestingly, the aurorae theory for W1935 is not the first time aurorae has been used to explain observations of brown dwarfs. From warmer brown dwarfs, scientists have detected radio emissions and used aurorae to explain the emissions. No telescope is as sensitive to infrared light as Webb, though, and thus further observations of these radio-emitting brown dwarfs to characterize the potential aurorae have been inconclusive. However, W1935 is the first brown dwarf auroral candidate to feature the methane emission signature. What’s more, it’s also the coldest auroral candidate, with a temperature of about 200 degrees Celsius, which is around 316 degrees Celsius warmer than Jupiter. Future observations of W1935 and other auroral candidate brown dwarfs with Webb will allow scientists to better understand aurorae on brown dwarfs. In the case of W1935, further investigation into how aurorae could form without stellar wind is needed. “With W1935, we now have a spectacular extension of a solar system phenomenon without any stellar irradiation to help in the explanation. With Webb, we can really ‘open the hood’ on the chemistry and unpack how similar or different the auroral process may be beyond our solar system,” Faherty said. Faherty et al.’s results were presented at the 243rd meeting of the American Astronomical Society in New Orleans in early January. (Lead image: artist’s concept of W1935 with aurorae.
