Credo di non essermi mai davvero sentito giovane: i vent’anni mi stanno addosso come un vestito troppo stretto, le epoche passate sembrano più reali del presente. Perciò, sapere che un’altro anno è passato mi lascia malinconicamente indifferente; non mi pare un concetto abbastanza concreto che un istante separi due concetti così assurdi come passato e presente. Concetti che la mezzanotte tra la fine e il principio potenzia e moltiplica all’infinito, impedendo che colino l’uno nell’altro. Questa fissazione ci lascia sul baratro della fine e, come in ogni fine, la vita si ravviva di terrore, poiché solo nello sguardo inquito della morte troviamo uno specchio abbastanza onesto di noi stessi. Solo nelle piccole morti che ci accompagnano ogni giorno troviamo il terrore necessario per cambiare, ma l’unico cambiamento che produciamo è solo uno scheletro, una promessa che viene portata via nelle tempeste di realtà che ci infestano ogni giorno, un superfluo guscio vuoto. Perchè non cambiare? Perchè restare inermi davanti al proprio disprezzo? Forse perchè è più facile rimandare il cambiamento mascherandolo con i buoni propositi, fare finta che la fine sia solo un’illusione, una storia per fare in modo che i bambini si comportino bene. Purtroppo, però, quando ti ritrovi ad affrontare morti così tremendamente drammatiche da scuotere le stesse fondamenta della tua quotidianittà, da sradicare ogni sicurezza fino a lasciarti su un terreno troppo friabile perchè possa reggere il tuo stesso peso, allora, solo allora, le cose cambiano. Quest’anno, almeno per me, è stato l’anno in cui tutto ciò è successo. Ho perso abbastanza cose da restare desolatamente scosso in me stesso, le strutture su cui mi basavo sono crollate, così ho dovuto ricostruire. Non posso ancora dire di piacermi, posso però dire di esserci, di aver reagito, il resto arriverà, spero. Non ho fatto buoni propositi, quest’anno ho deciso solo di vivere meglio me stesso, di lasciar correre il disprezzo e i sensi di colpa, di smettarla di dispiacermi e chiedere scusa della mia stessa esistenza. Lo scorso anno sono dovuto sopravvivere, spero che questo mi lasci più felice. la morte concima la terra, ravviva anche ciò che non era più fertile, ciò che è appena finito ha lasciato abbastanza vuoto da permettermi di poterlo riempire di nuovo, di ricominciare. Avrei voluto fare ammenda, almeno di ciò che sono stato io a sbagliare, lì dove ho sbagliato. A valte, però, gli egoismi accecano la vista, bloccano le fessure attraverso cui passano gli spifferi della nostalgia, abbandonano le amicizie ai “basta”. Ho sbagliato parecchie cose, ero mosso dalla paura, dal dolore, spero di non esserlo più, mi spiace solo che chi ha deciso di svuotarmi addosso ogni cosa andata male non si sia ricordato del bello che c’era. Io, almeno, spero di mantenere tale ricordo. Quest’anno, quindi, per me è stato etichettato dalla parola “fine”, la comune concezione del tempo prevede che segua un inizio. Ad ogni istante ne deve seguire un altro e poi un altro ancora, così a quest’anno ne seguirà un altro, poi un altro ancora. Spero solo che il mio induttivismo si riveli per una volta funzionale e non mi faccia fare la figura del tacchino.
