Recently I visited the winery “Il Conte Villa Prandone”, in Monteprandone (Ascoli Piceno). This producer was recently awarded by @wine_spectator for his wine “Marinus” Rosso Piceno Superiore. “A rich, medium- to full-bodied red in a well-tailored frame, knitting saturated flavors of crushed boysenberry, pomegranate, black licorice, toast and spice to fine-grained tannins and a graphite-laced underpinning that echoes on the finish. Montepulciano and Sangiovese. MONTEPRANDONE – Parte la distribuzione gratuita di mascherine protettive lavabili e riutilizzabili a cittadini over 50, residenti o domiciliati a Monteprandone, che non sono ancora riusciti a reperire i dispositivi di protezione.
Per richiedere la mascherina va inviato un messaggio WhatsApp al numero 3791985147, con la foto di un documento di identità (necessario per l’autorizzazione al trattamento dei dati personali per le finalità del servizio) e l’indirizzo di consegna. Chi non usa WhatsApp, può telefonare allo stesso numero, da martedì 7 aprile a giovedì 9 aprile, dalle 9 alle 12 e dalle 16 alle 18.
La consegna a domicilio partirà da venerdì 10 aprile, dalle ore 9 alle ore 12 e dalle ore 16 alle ore 18, e verrà organizzata in base alle richieste che perverranno. L’operatore suonerà il campanello e lascerà la mascherina a disposizione del richiedente. Non è previsto alcun contatto tra i destinatari e l’operatore.
Le mascherine sono realizzate in materiale igienico stratificato. Prima e dopo l’uso vanno lavate e sterilizzate. Si raccomanda l’uso strettamente personale e di leggere attentamente le caratteristiche sulle confezioni.
“Con questa prima dotazione di mascherine, in parte donate al Comune da alcune aziende del territorio, in parte acquistate dall’Ente – spiega il sindaco Sergio Loggi –cercheremo di rispondere alle esigenze di quanti ancora non sono riusciti a reperire i dispositivi di protezione. Ringrazio le aziende CCCP, Dal Trading, Elit Manifatture, Femac, Il Conte Villa Prandone e Tiziana Confezioni”.

Drinking this at cellar-temp: it doesn’t need ANY chilling to be wonderful. Gracious and mouth-filling, the nose a strong sauv-blanc-ish sort of vegetal ire–beautiful and shocking at the same time. Thick and rich of bouquet, musty plum and green strawberry point to a depth of fruit from its medium-canary color un-tainted by the slightest oak influence.

Black and nearly impenetrable with blue-purple edges, this is a ridiculously ripe sangio in the nose with layers and layers of deep, concentrated berry highlighted with a mineral-vegetal rim. Plentiful air is key here, as it is rather closed-in on pop-n-pour but blossoms nicely into splendor I did not originally predict.
