#I played this game on my after school programs old second hand gameboys lmao and u had to pray #that someone didn’t reset ur game #I’m still not in the habit of naming my Pokémon cuz of this. baby byte age 7 trying to speedrun #furthest we ever made was the fourth gym leader agsjskka #taking out the cartridge when the game stopped working & blowing on it…. #I rlly thought pikachu was The og starter for the longest time #like yea ofc ash has one. finding out the game was based on the anime was shocking #I also played gold or silver on a shitty game boy something with no memory ?? #so the only portion of that game ive actually played is the apricot fetch quest bit. Over and over #bc/ all progress wiped as soon as u powered off #I say we because it was multiplayer in the sense that it was 3 kids huddled around one gameboy #god knows what sort of patience I must have had to watch other kids play games?? #I STILL do the superstitious button mashing for catching pokemon #god I miss the days where games would break in ways that were funny & still totally functional #where like yea if you do the wrong shit in just the right way you CAN get a ghost story #swapping dubious tips on the playground is part of the experience!!! #now you go on the internet & just get scammed. #bytebun rambles #maybe I’ll cave one day and [redacted] it but -_- it’s about the feeling of the buttons and the tiny screen
