No, but seriously. They're friends. They care about each other. I keep seeing takes where people think that Miguel resents Peter for having a daughter, or that Peter secretly likes holding the fact that he has a daughter now over Miguel, or that they're only tentatively amicable co-workers, or that they only barely tolerate each other, or that Peter is actually Miguel's brainwashed abuse victim, and they're just all wrong. They are friends. They like each other. Peter says as much right off the bat.

Peter was there with Miguel trying to help save Gabriella and her dimension. Miguel made child sized dimensional stabiliziation bracelets so that Peter could bring Mayday for visits. Peter refers to Mayday as a "magical child" and believes that she causes peace and happiness, and wouldn't you know it, the person Peter is most excited to bring Mayday around (besides Miles) is Miguel. And Miguel lets him.

Miguel let's Peter give him a hard time about being too serious, he let's him sling an arm around his shoulders while he tries to show him baby pictures, and he let's Mayday crawl around wherever she wants, including across his shoulders and onto his head, and he allows all of this in front of other people, people that he wants to be taken seriously by. And he has no reason to allow any of it. If he thought Mayday was too much of a distraction, he'd tell Peter to leave her at home. If he thought Peter was a nuisance, he'd just kick him out. He has no reason to let them hang around him, other than he likes having them around.

They're friends.

now, i’m not suggesting that he met up with her after the merge, or that she partially caused his amnesia, or that she knows what the element of lightning could do and wants it back under her control, or that she might be a part of the administration, maybe even be the leader of the administration… yeah, i’m suggesting that.
