Time to let the man enjoy his new adventure in US arent we. Just following feeder series last years but immediately falling love because the competition is more exciting. But at the end of last season it hit me so hard, the fact that more than 95% of these junior driver will not end up in f1, and sooner or later i should accept that they will competing in another series (maybe also follow and watch those series, and yes i start watching indy and dtm because of christian, callum, and liam).
guess so i hope he knows what he's doing and hope it works out well for him, also hope he's not doing this bc he things it can get him to f1 cause it won't
i really like some other series and definitely didn't think he (or any of my favs tbh) would end up in f1, its indy that gets me 🥲 i'm not new to the series cause its very popular where i live so i've watched plenty of it already and the thing is i still don't like it much 😭
i wanted callum to end up in wec honestly but he's made his choice, so enjoy the united states callum hope it treats you well

BMW one-two-three in Sunday race at the Hungaroring
Marco Wittmann (GER) claimed his first victory of the season at the wheel of the BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM in Sunday’s race at the Hungaroring (HUN). Timo Glock (GER, DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM) and Philipp Eng (AUT, SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM) followed him home for a BMW one-two-three. However, the race result was of minor importance at the end of a chaotic sixth race of the season. Several people were injured in incidents in the pit lane and had to be treated in hospital.
Seven laps in, the race stewards suspended the race after several incidents occurred in the pit lane during a shower. A number of cars coming in for their tyre change were unable to stop in time on the wet and extremely slippery concrete in front of the garages. Several people working in the pit lane were injured as the cars struggled to stop. Spengler’s BMW Bank M4 DTM was one of the cars that skidded too far, hitting a BMW Team RBM mechanic who, according to the team doctor, suffered slight bruising on his foot. He was already back working on Spengler’s car by the time the cars took their place on the grid for the re-start.
Spengler eventually came home seventh. Like all the BMW drivers, he benefitted from the fact that the six BMW M4 DTMs had already completed their mandatory pit stops by the time the race was suspended. When the previous leading group came in for their tyre change after the re-start, Wittmann moved into the lead and controlled the race from that point, going on to claim his tenth victory in the DTM. Glock was second and returns to the top of the Drivers’ Championship with 90 points. BMW Team RMR leads the team competition with 131 points.
Behind Eng, who achieved the second podium finish of his fledgling DTM career, Joel Eriksson (SWE, BMW M4 DTM) and Augusto Farfus (BRA, Shell BMW M4 DTM) came home sixth and eighth.
Rudolf Dittrich (General Manager BMW Motorsport Vehicle Development):
“The race action is of secondary importance today. The most important thing is that the people involved in the incidents in the pit lane were not too seriously injured and will hopefully be back fit and well soon. Bruno Spengler’s stop was a close thing. I am very happy that nothing serious happened to anyone at BMW Team RBM. From a sporting point of view, the weekend was an emotional rollercoaster. We had a poor race on Saturday, but turned the result on its head today – thanks to our aggressive race strategy and the particular circumstances. Congratulations to Marco on his win, and to Timo and Philipp on their podiums. The way the race panned out obviously played into our hands, but we also saw that our speed was much better today than on Saturday.”
Stefan Reinhold (Team Principal, BMW Team RMG):
“We would obviously like to dedicate today’s win to everyone who was hurt during today’s race. Our thoughts and best wishes are with them. On one hand, we are pleased that yesterday’s hard work paid off today, and that we were able to claim a one-two with Marco and Timo. On the other hand, you would rather win under different circumstances. Despite that, it is obviously a very good result for us.”
Marco Wittmann (#11 BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM, BMW Team RMG – qualifying result: 14thplace, race result: 1stplace, points: 51):
“My team brought me in for my tyre change on the right lap when it started to rain and the conditions were deteriorating. The pit lane was very slippery. I too went slightly too far. I saw photos and videos of the accidents afterwards. That obviously takes the shine off the win. I hope the guys are doing ok, under the circumstances, and that they have not suffered any serious injuries. That aside, my team pulled off a masterstroke with the timing of the pit stop. In the end, the race suspension and the re-start played into our hands. To score 25 points from 14thon the grid today, after yesterday’s result, is mega.”
Augusto Farfus (#15 Shell BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMG – qualifying result: 12thplace, race result: 8thplace, points: 6):
“We stopped too early, which possibly cost us an even better result. One positive we will definitely take with us is that we were quick in the race. It is a great shame, but at least we picked up a few points. I’d like to send my best wishes to everyone who was hurt in today’s incidents.”
Timo Glock (#16 DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMR – qualifying result: 8thplace, race result: 2ndplace, points: 90):
“We had good pace out on the track, and the racing gods were on our side in the end too. It was all very chaotic from the start. It all started with the spin on lap one. That dropped me to the back of the field and is why I stopped so early. Then we had the rain, which we were actually no longer expecting. Then there were the accidents in the pit lane. I hope the marshal, who is here as a volunteer and a big motorsport fan, recovers quickly. The same goes for everyone involved. That kind of thing is particularly tragic, and nobody wants to see bystanders get hurt.”
Bart Mampaey (Team Principal, BMW Team RBM):
“Fortunately, none of our mechanics were seriously hurt during Bruno’s pit stop. I hope that all the other people who were hurt get well soon. We knew that the pit lane here can be very slippery, but when it rains as heavily as it did then, the drivers do not have a chance on slicks. You can see how professional my team is: despite the incident, they still performed a normal tyre change on Bruno’s car, and we even went on to score points. Congratulations to Marco, Timo and Philipp on the BMW one-two-three. We could not have seen that result coming.”
Philipp Eng (#25 SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RMR – qualifying result: 15thplace, race result: 3rdplace, points: 41):
“The most important thing is that, given the circumstances, everyone involved is doing ok. I wish everyone involved a speedy recovery. The race itself was a tactical masterstroke from us – particularly the engineers. We stopped on exactly the right lap and fitted the right tyres. After that I had good pace. In the end, it was good enough for third place.”
Bruno Spengler (#7 BMW Bank M4 DTM, BMW Team RBM – qualifying result: 18thplace, race result: 7thplace, points: 29):
“First of all, I would like to apologise to my mechanic. Although I was already driving much slower than usual, the wheels locked. As a result, I could not avoid hitting him. I am very sorry. Fortunately, nothing serious happened. We should probably have come in a lap earlier and switched to wet-weather tyres. Maybe the pit lane would have been drier then too. However, it is not easy in those chaotic situations. After Saturday’s result, it was important for BMW to score heavily today.”
Joel Eriksson (#47 BMW M4 DTM, BMW Team RBM – qualifying result: 17thplace, race result: 6thplace, points: 23):
“The circumstances of this race were obviously far from pleasing. We ultimately benefitted from having already stopped when it started to rain. As a result, we were able to score valuable points, although we did not actually have the pace to finish sixth.”

Pole position and podium for BMW driver Glock at Hockenheim
Timo Glock (GER) and the Hockenheimring (GER) once again proved to be a lucky combination for BMW Motorsport in the 17th race of the DTM season. Having shone at the season-opener on the same track back in May, the BMW Team RMG driver impressed again in the penultimate race of the year. At the wheel of the DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM, Glock initially secured the fourth pole position of his DTM career, before finishing third to take his place on the podium at the end of a hard-fought race. Maxime Martin (BEL) qualified second to make it an all-BMW front row, but narrowly missed out on a podium finish in fourth place. Bruno Spengler (CAN) picked up one point for tenth place. Marco Wittmann (GER), Tom Blomqvist (GBR) and Augusto Farfus (BRA) were 13th, 15th and 17th.
Before the race, fans at the Hockenheimring were treated to a unique spectacle, as three cars from the manufacturers currently represented in the DTM took to the track alongside a Nismo and a Lexus racing car. The Japanese guests had previously completed a number of demonstration laps.
The qualifying:
In glorious autumn sunshine, Timo Glock set the fastest time of 1:30.648 minutes in the DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM. In doing so, he secured the fourth pole position of his DTM career and the eighth of the season for BMW Motorsport. Maxime Martin, in the SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM, was just 0.037 seconds slower than Glock in second place, and joined his fellow BMW driver on the front row of the grid. Glock received three points towards the Drivers’ Championship for his pole position, while Martin picked up two points for second place. Marco Wittmann was eighth in the Red Bull BMW M4 DTM, while Bruno Spengler qualified 12th in the BMW Bank M4 DTM. Augusto Farfus (Shell BMW M4 DTM) and Tom Blomqvist (BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM) were 14th and 16th.
  The race:
Timo Glock made a good start from pole position and immediately pulled clear of the pack on the opening lap. Maxime Martin lost second place to Jamie Green (GBR, Audi). Green then steadily reeled in Glock, and the pair became embroiled in a spectacular duel for the lead, with Green coming out on top in the end. Martin briefly conceded third place to Edoardo Mortara (ITA, Mercedes), but retook the position once the two cars had made their pit stops. The second half of the race saw Mike Rockenfeller (GER, Audi) work his way through the field, overtaking first Martin and then Glock. The two BMW drivers ultimately crossed the finish line in third and fourth place. Glock claimed the ninth podium of his career. Bruno Spengler overtook Mattias Ekström (SWE, Audi) shortly before the finish, and was rewarded with one point for tenth place. Marco Wittmann, Tom Blomqvist and Augusto Farfus came home 13th, 15th and 17th.
The reactions:
BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt: “As expected, that was a tough race today. We had a very good qualifying, but our guys had to fight for every position in the race. In the end, third and fourth for Timo Glock and Maxime Martin, and tenth place for Bruno Spengler, were the most we could get out of the race. We will definitely give it everything and push hard again tomorrow.”
Stefan Reinhold (Team Principal, BMW Team RMG): “We did not really expect to end the race in the same positions as after qualifying but Timo did a super job. Unfortunately, we had a technical issue during Augusto’s pit stop. In Marco’s case, we have to do everything we can to find more pace tomorrow. There is definitely room for improvement.”
Marco Wittmann (#11, Red Bull BMW M4 DTM – Grid position: 8th place, race result: 13th place – 73 races, 8 wins, 19 podiums, 9 pole positions, 657 points, 2 drivers’ titles): “Unfortunately, we were simply lacking pace today. The car was slightly damaged by a bump with Mike Rockenfeller on the opening lap. I then found myself dropping back through the field instead of making up positions. All in all, it was a disappointing race, and I hope we have a better day tomorrow.”
Augusto Farfus (#15, Shell BMW M4 DTM – Grid position: 14th place, race result: 17th place – 83 races, 4 wins, 12 podiums, 6 pole positions, 374 points):“We obviously expected more than that. My start was good, but we then lost too much time during the pit stop. These things happen in motorsport. Who knows, we could have been on for a top-ten finish otherwise.”
Timo Glock (#16, DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM – Grid position: 1st place, race result: 3rd place – 73 races, 4 wins, 9 podiums, 4 pole positions, 346 points): “That was quite a race. My reaction time at the start was awesome, and I was able to pull away from the field at first. After that, it soon became apparent that Jamie Green simply had far more pace over the race distance. He overtook me, although I did try to fend him off – but that only worked for a while. He was ultimately far quicker than me. Losing another place to Rocky on the final lap obviously hurts a bit, but I had no grip left and could do nothing about it.”
Bart Mampaey (Team Principal, BMW Team RBM): “I think we did as well as possible. We finished fourth with Maxime, which is a good result. Unfortunately, the start was not ideal. However, we gave it our all, fought hard, and tried to defend our positions. Bruno came through from the back-end of the grid to finish in the points. All in all, it is not a bad result for us but we will try to do even better tomorrow.”
Bruno Spengler (#7, BMW Bank BMW M4 DTM – Grid position:12th place, race result: 10th place – 156 races, 15 wins, 48 podiums, 18 pole positions, 833 points, 1 drivers’ title): “Before the race we knew that it was going to take quite an effort. And we definitely fought hard. Fortunately, we were able to do a long first stint. That meant I had fresh tyres at the end, and was able to go on the attack again. That was very important, as I was able to pick up a point that way. I would obviously have liked to pass Gary Paffett too, but he shut the door on me. To score a point from 12th place on the grid is okay.”
Tom Blomqvist (#31, BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM – Grid position: 16thplace, race result: 15th place – 53 races, 1 win, 5 podiums, 2 pole positions, 194 points): “That was not a good race. There was not really much we could do today starting from that far back. We tried to stay out as long as possible but that did not help us either. We will go again tomorrow, and will push hard again.”
Maxime Martin (#36, SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM – Grid position: 2nd place, race result: 4th place – 63 races, 3 wins, 10 podiums, 3 pole positions, 355 points): “It was a tough race, and we fought hard, however Audi is simply too strong at the moment. We did our best, but that is about as much as we can hope for at present. We’ll see what we can do tomorrow when we will obviously try to score as many points as possible again.”
  The standings:
  Drivers: 1. Mattias Ekström (172 points), 2. Jamie Green (163), 3. René Rast (159), 4. Mike Rockenfeller (152), 5. Lucas Auer (135), 6. Marco Wittmann (134), 7. Timo Glock (133), 8.
