there just wasn’t enough joy in those episodes to balance out how heavy they were…..

#I dunno I can’t stop thinking about it yet I haven’t been able to rewatch anything #like the wedding has been mentioned in every episode since the second scene of the season and what we ended up getting didn’t feel #like the payoff it should have #weddings are supposed to be joyful and a celebration of love and I bet everything that would’ve made it feel more joyful got cut #for all the grief. three separate heavy heavy plot lines against something so happy just…… was so unbalanced #I dunno I think if they had instead paralleled owen watching a loved one die by choice vs andrea watching a loved one die by force #to close out the season would’ve worked better and would be a cliff hanger to hook people for next season #and then explore carlos’ grief and exploration into gabriel’s murder to start off next season #the wedding wouldn’t have felt so overshadowed and just shoved in at the end then #what made me fall in love with lone star was their ability to balance heavy vs beautiful vs dumb/funny stuff and that balance was missing #anyway I’ll rewatch the episodes soon and hopefully feel better about them and be able to feel more excited about the wedding #hope you enjoyed my tag essay lmao
