Sliding into your inbox to tell you I am still thinking about your Jance nerdxbad!boy moodboard because it is SOOOO GOOD
Once I've finished my ongoing fics (I have so many lmao) I'd definitely be interested in writing something based on the moodboard 👀 In my vision it would take place in college and Jan is kind of notorious for hooking up with people but never sticking around. Though while he has a bad reputation he's still popular amongst other students for being good looking and a genius at math.
Nace would transfer to the same college after the first semester at another school to take up animal biology instead. I actually think it'd be funny for their first meeting to be kind of awkward, like Nace spilling all his books onto the floor after accidentally bumping into Jan in the library.
But (un?)fortunately for Nace, from that moment on he's caught Jan's attention 👀
Tumblr media
(Bonus: Nace plays a little hard to get and won't let Jan kiss him so easily. Jan enjoys the challenge)

Meeting the Family
The Sunfire Delegation was traveling back to their territory, plus one king and prince when her homing phoenix found her. On it's leg was a short simple note that had her heart stop,
"It's happening."
Janai spurred her mount into the air to race home as fast as Embertail could fly, leaving the travel party in the dust with the exception of Callum who used his birdwings to keep up the best he could. She heard him breathlessly cast spells behind her, but paid them no mind. She knew there was a full day between herself and Nova Aurora, she had no chance of making it in time, but she had to try.
"Queen Janai!" Kazi greeted joyfully as Janai landed in the palace courtyard, "Welcome home!"
"Where is she?" Janai grabbed Kazi's shoulders in a panic, bird wings came over her hands, transforming into human fingers as they did,
"It's okay, Aunt Janai, take a deep breath-" Callum was out of his mind to make that demand of her, but she tried anyway.
"Where is she?" Panic still came out, but at least she almost sounded like a sane person, "Is she okay?"
"She's fine, Your Radiance! She did amazing! She didn't even threaten you that much!"
"That much?" Callum asked with a grin.
"Well she did say something about...mounting Queen Janai's horns."
"I mean, it's a small price to pay, right?"
"Urgh!!!" Janai had enough of the small talk, she built up heat until she looked like living lava and bellowed, "Where is my wife?!"
"She insisted to be put back in her own bed, Your Radiance."
Servants and nobles dodged out of Janai's way as she raced through the palace to her room and burst open the door, leaving scorch marks on the doorknob as she did so.
Gren was leaning over a bassinet, singing to the little one inside while Nava (Midwife and nursemaid to Queen Janai, her siblings, as well as their mother and her siblings before them) rested nearby. As Gren jumped, Nava looked unimpressed as she got up to bow. This would not even be the fifth time she'd seen a nervous wreck of a royal barge in to meet the new arrival.
"Do not think you will meet your son looking like that, little lava monster." She reprimanded, "And you're lucky you can't wake up your recovering wife will all that noise."
"Son?" the heat faded as a dumb smile took over her face. Nava shoed the human out, Janai barely registered his hug or heard the congratulations before he left.
"Yes, girl, son. Now come sit down and meet your little prince." She gently picked up a swaddled baby, "Healthy as a hotcat and twice as feisty. Well, hold him, he won't break."
"Hello Aviv." the baby looked at the person holding him with tired interest before closing his eyes again, "Look at you, you're perfect."
"Well if you can ignore those extra fingers. I know-I know-" she held up her hands at a glare shot in her direction. They talked about this, any human features her child had were to be spoken of kindly, or not at all, "But I had to get it out once. He will never hear anything cross about his heritage from me. Nor should he hear it from anyone, in my opinion."
"I'm glad he has them, it will be easier to speak his mother's language." She continued to stare at her boy lovingly,
"Yes, we had hands flying left and right. None of us knew what she was talking about. We had to call in Kazi. The human was crying too much to help translate, poor fool. Picture of a proud uncle, that one." a split second of grief crossed Janai, not unnoticed by Nava, "Remember the boy he was, not the fool he grew up to be."
Janai sniffed and nodded, trying not to be disheartened that neither of her siblings were here, fighting to hold the baby and teasing her relentlessly. That mounting her horns comment would have given Khessa so much material.
"He'll be handsome." Nava bluntly changed the topic, "He'll favor you."
"I had hoped he'd favor Amaya." In fact she specifically requested a child who looked like her wife, not that anything could take away her joy right now. She finally got to hold their baby.
"Maybe your little golden knight or high mage will." a little snap startled all three of them in the sitting area, Amaya had woken up, "I'll be outside if you need anything."
"Yes, thank you." She slowly and overcautiously took her soon and sat next to her queen on the bed,
"How do you feel?"
"Like I've been blown up, dragged across the country, locked in a ring of fire, then thrown across the battlefield by a lava monster."
"I will not apologize for that again." she kissed Amaya's forehead, "But I'm sorry you're in so much pain. And I'm sorry I wasn't here for you both."
"You left for an important reason. And I'm the one who told you to go." Told was an understatement, she nearly had to banish Janai from her own kingdom to get her to leave. "But I wish you could've been here."
"So you could tell me about my upcoming dehorning in person?"
"Gren?"
"Kazi."
"Snitch." she glared at the door as if Kazi was hiding behind it,
"They also said you did amazing." And she was inclined to agree.
"It doesn't feel like it."
"But it's true. Look at him, Amaya. He's here and he's healthy. Aviv is finally here." they both turned their eyes to the sleeping baby, and they both started to cry, "Though I have been informed that our child will not look like you."
"Oh really?" Amaya beamed,
"No." though she'd never said anything, Janai always suspected this was the outcome she wanted, "You did this on purpose, didn't you?"
She smirked, Janai kissed her,
"Thank you." she practically sobbed with glee, "I love you so much."

13 and 22 for Janai pls :D
Thank you for the ask
22. Best physical feature
(Already said this once, and I will say it again) her muscles and her heat being mode
13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done (had to rack my brain for a good idea, so dont judge me)
When she was younger(early teens), she stumbled upon a few wild hotcat cubs without their mom, so she decided to stay near them for a bit until their mother returned from hunting and when she did she was not happy to see an elf near her cubs. Janai now has a scar on the inside of her left arm because of that.

Some of you were curious about Helical and I will use any chance I get to shove my AUs in ur faces :D
(There is a 2LDR at the end btw)(also I believe I’ve posted a few of these pictures before but that sounds like a u problem /LH)
Basic Plot of Helicaltale is the monsters weren’t sealed underground after they lost the war, they were instead cursed that if they ever touch sunlight they’ll die (Minecraft Mob style), based of the idea that ‘monsters and ghouls only come out at night’, This is also why all the Helicaltale monsters are absolutely decked out in clothing, wanting to avoid contact with the sun at all costs
So, instead of living under Mt Ebott they live in a camp in Ebott Desert, since a century have passed since the war, monsters and humans are on pretty chill terms now, River (the Desert person) helps humans cross the desert for trading with the monster camp (by camp I mean actual tents with canvas stretching over the walkways to act as shade, cause I love cities built with only tents, that aesthetic is my JAM-HXHSUDHS)
This also means characters like Gaster are still around and alive tho cause you can’t fall into the CORE is there is no CORE!!
Sans is one of the city sentry (they guard the city from wild animals like coyotes and the occasional human gang n stuff) but I’d also one of the monsters that actively trade with humans, yet, he only really deals with weird stuff like ancient magical artefacts from before the war, medicines that you basically can’t get anywhere else and HotCats
Due to a mishap (selling his right eye during a pandemic so he could afford to by medicine for Paps and Gaster when he was around 12 and the majority of monsters were dusting to this unknown disease) Sans was half blind for most his life, but eventually a human comes to him asking for medicine for his own brother, offering a Glass Eye (built for skeletons) his great great Grandfather made from before the war,
Making the trade it becomes apparent the eye is cracked and damaged, but deciding he’d rather deal with blurry vision instead of no vision, Sans uses the eye, which suddenly allows him to see and interact with things that he should ink be able to, IE: the Creators and access to the Multiverse
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then there’s also Paps, (Helical Papyrus is by far the coolest Papyrus AU I have)
Paps is Vice Capt of the Royal Guard, seeing as the Gruard isn’t designed to actually kill anyone he climbed the ranks quickly and is a genuinely loved and well respected member, he and Undyne are great friends and Sans gloats about how great Papyrus is any chance he gets, cause his brother is the coolest duh
He’s also like, the nicest person you’ll ever meet- I love him-
He and Sans share a tent together cause Gaster is currently away in Ebott city working with humans to create a cure to the curse
Paps also has a scare over his right eye from when some jerk humans used a mirror to reflect the sun on him when he was seven, let’s just say… sans decided to feed the coyotes for once
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, non contested spoilers to a possible comic idea :)
(No promises tho)
Tumblr media
2LDR: Sun = ouchie bang bang, eye = can hear god, paps = best boi
Have an amazing day/night, ty for listening to me ramble

Wish Fulfilment (Chapter 1/?)
Rayla woke up in a tiny body in a tiny bed, blinked, looked at her tiny hands, and said “Right.”
(Time travel; indulgent and light-hearted. Ao3 link)
---
Rayla woke up in a tiny body in a tiny bed, blinked, looked at her tiny hands, and said “Right.”
She spent the next few days taking stock of herself, the time-frame, her living situation, and her own abilities. She was a pipsqueak, lacking the advantages of a decade of training and conditioning, but she’d been a scrappy thing even at this age – climbing trees, making a nuisance of herself, getting hardier and more agile than most bairns did, and so on. She scrambled experimentally about some trees for a while, and assessed her stealth by mud-bombing the townspeople she disliked, and in the end decided that it would do just fine.
Her parents had joined the Dragonguard recently, and judging by her age, Callum must have lost his mother only a month or two ago. She regretted that she couldn’t have stopped that, but, well. Nothing to be done.
She spent a further week stealing supplies, testing herself, and getting ready. The Moon answered her when she called on it, even so close to its darkest phase. Magic answered too, when she begrudgingly tested the spells Callum had bullied her into learning. It would be enough.
She left a note for Ethari and Runaan that read ‘I know you’ll never listen if I tell you not to look for me, so just try not to waste too much time, alright? I’m fine.’ She took a moment to feel disconcerted at her history of leaving notes and disappearing, then added ‘Sorry. Try not to worry. I’ll see if I can send letters or something.’ With that in mind she took a brief detour into Ethari’s workshop and stole a shadowhawk. With that tucked into her pack, she did some last-minute checks of her supplies and headed out.
First on her agenda was heading North-East and breaking up her trail. Runaan would absolutely try to follow her, so she made it as hard for him as she possibly could, laying false trails, disturbing the true ones, and dunking herself in every body of water she could find to break up the chance of the family Moonstrider being able to track her. He’d probably still find his way through the first leg of her journey, but that was okay. She could live with that.
Rayla arrived at the mountainous plains on the edge of Lux Aurea a week later, finding with satisfaction what she’d expected to: vast tracts of farmland, developed for the feeding of the equally vast population of the golden city. It took a further day to find the farm itself, whereupon she broke in, ambushed the residents, and made some very uncompromising demands.
The Sunfire farmers looked so bewildered at having been hogtied and extorted by a baby-faced Moonshadow child that they offered absolutely no resistance except plaintive questions like ‘where are your parents’, or ‘are you okay’, or ‘do you need any help’. In the end Rayla departed with her packs three bags of seeds heavier, and also stole a Sunfin on her way out. She flew on the placid creature for three days due West before running afoul of the Sunfire army.
Rayla spent eight disgruntled hours in the custody of those soldiers, refusing to talk, until they finally left a twin-tailed inferno-tooth tiger to guard her while they went off to send letters to their superiors, trusting the guard-cat’s intelligence and ferocity to be equal to the task of keeping watch on a wee Moonshadow bairn. This turned out to be a mistake.
Within an hour, the animal was eyeing her with interest. Within two, it had drifted close to sniff at her. “What’re you looking at?” She demanded, in her tiny irritable child-voice, and that was when the thing instantly and very plainly took a liking to her. She spent ten minutes grumbling loudly about being sat on by a giant cat, then finally conceded to pragmatism and started using its tail-flames to burn through her ties. They’d only used rope, not wanting to restrain a child too sternly. It was very helpful stupidity on their part.
Rayla escaped on the cat and was only mildly singed by the ordeal. Later, after a day of very enthusiastic pursuit-evasion, she settled down with said cat and eyed it with resignation. “You’re not leaving, are you.” She said. It licked her with a sandpapery tongue almost as big as her entire face, and that was answer enough. She sighed. “Well, it’ll make the journey a lot faster, I suppose.” She decided. “But you’re going to be a pain to hide.”
Unconcerned, it rubbed its face against her insistently enough to push her over. But she’d grown up with a shadowpaw, so she was used to that.
Rayla, who was not good at naming things, named it Cat.
 ---
Brightly-coloured cats with two flaming tails were not stealthy. They just weren’t. Cheerfully unaware of how inconvenient this was, Cat spent the next two weeks ruining her efforts at stealth by roaring at inconvenient times, following her when she’d told it to stay put, and in general by being constantly on fire. As such she arrived in the Pentarchy and crossed the Weeping Bay with considerably more flair than she’d have preferred, but at least the tails eliminated the need for campfires. It had obviously been used to cook food before, and tolerated the experience very agreeably, if it had also been fed.
On the third week she finally figured out that the thing had been trained with Luçais commands, and muddled her way through her extremely bare vocabulary in the language to finally get Cat to follow basic directions. With the ability to tell it to stay put somewhere while she went off to do something else, things went much better. She disappeared into the mountain range on Cat’s wings, choosing the least-populated route she could manage, and in the end managed to approach Katolis castle with no one the wiser that she was there.
Finding somewhere to leave Cat proved challenging, though. She briefly considered the alcove in the cliff under the castle, but dismissed it on grounds that someone would notice the roaring eventually. Cat was a noisy bastard. Eventually she resigned herself to the fact that she’d just need to relocate it periodically, and left it in a relatively well-concealed ditch with a freshly-killed deer corpse to occupy it.
Rayla waited till nightfall for the first excursion, calling on the Moon to turn her skin to shadows, and stalked down the castle halls, learning it as it was in this time. Learning the guard stations, the patrol patterns, its rhythms and sounds. She was half-way to checking whether Callum still had the right room at this age when she stopped in the middle of the hallway, goosebumps raising up in lines over her arms, feeling a vast and familiar presence passing over her mind. She slumped with relief.
“Ezran.” She murmured, more thankful than words could say. “So you made it back too.”
Being a baby had apparently not agreed with him, because he seemed to lack the control and finesse he’d developed with age. Instead his ability brushed at her in vague sweeps of feeling and intent, saying relief and frustration and this way. She followed his lead to the nursery where he was kept, his guards pressed into sleep by his far-reaching touch.
She looked down at him in his cot, so tiny she wasn’t even sure if he could crawl, and raised an eyebrow. “Somehow, you’re even tinier than I expected.”
“Ee,” he expressed sourly, blinking up at her with eyes that looked too big for his face. Babies were so weird. His hands reached up and made grabby motions at her, so obediently she leaned in and let him slap one baby hand onto her cheek. With the skin contact, it got a lot clearer.
Been here months, he seemed to complain, along with a rush of gratitude/relief/fondness at seeing her. Couldn’t do anything/missed you/been awful.
“How many months?” She asked with interest, and after a little back-and-forth managed to surmise that he’d awakened in his body very shortly after the titan-slaying party had departed for Xadia. She winced, entirely aware of how terrible that must have been for him. “I’m sorry, Ez.”
His little baby face screwed up, as if he was going to start crying. He almost did, but then seemed to summon the will to suppress the infant-body’s powerful instincts before it actually got going. Really sucked, he managed to express, with a little echo of his helplessness and anger. Then, subverbal: an impression of the heavy miasma of grief that had hung over the castle. Harrow crying, Callum crying.
She inhaled sharply. “Callum-“ she couldn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t make it back? She thought, numbly, and that was as good as saying it, with Ezran touching her.
He blinked wide ice-blue eyes at her. Hasn't yet/getting worried, he said, tangled up in the impression he had that she’d arrived later than him, hadn’t she, so maybe, maybe Callum would join them eventually too. He hoped. But time was passing and he was afraid.
She closed her eyes. Exhaled. “Did Zym make it?” Yes, he had. “Can you talk to him the same? Reach past him?” Talking: yes, but it was hard. Reaching: no. “Okay. We can work with that.” She hesitated, steeling herself, not thinking about Callum. “I’ve got a hotcat a little bit past the castle. Think you can convince it not to make noise?” She asked, half-heartedly.
Ezran blinked again. Then he looked delighted, a wide baby grin spreading across his face. He nearly bowled her over with the wave of enthusiasm and approval for her having made a proper animal friend, and expressed his intention to begin communing with said animal at once.
Rayla nodded a little, still tightly controlling her reaction to the news about Callum, and after a moment reached into the cot to lift Ezran up under his wee chubby baby arms. He made a surprised gurgle at her, then burped contentedly when she hugged him, patting her clumsily on the shoulder. He was so bloody little. It was making her annoyingly emotional. Damn it, Callum, she thought to herself, get back here already so you can look at how tiny your brother is with me.
Ez sighed, patting her with mental impressions of hope and affection and subdued sadness. Then he told her, though not in as many words, that Cat was a terrible name and someone really needed to make fun of her for it.
Rayla huffed and set him back down again. “Shush, you.” She said gruffly, and hesitated. “I’ll…come back to see you tomorrow, alright? Maybe in the day this time.” She had to get an idea of the daytime watch rotations too, after all. She still wasn’t sure what the plan was, but taking someone hostage might well end up being part of it. That would be a lot easier, with Ez on board. A lot of things would be easier.
A little spitefully, to let off steam, she made one final stop before leaving the castle that night: she broke into Viren’s rooms and stole one each of three pairs of his boots. She took these back to Cat and watched it maul the boots in question with a great deal of satisfaction.
Cat did quiet down after whatever Ezran communicated to it, but unfortunately also decided that if it wasn’t going to announce its presence by roaring, it had to do it some other way. This was how Cat ended up spraying the brambles at the edge of the ditch in urine, and incidentally also how Rayla discovered that it was a male. Thereafter the area stank too much for her to linger in, so she had to go off to sleep in a nearby tree, beyond the warmth of Cat’s burning tails. Rayla woke the next morning with a pronounced crick in her neck, grumbled a little, then went back to work.
  ---
 Notes:
So this story exists because I made myself Really Sad about five year old Callum when writing the latest chapter (21) of piaj, and then made myself Even Sadder by promptly writing a future scene where Callum talked about said period of his life to Rayla, and then out of abject desperation I fired up a fresh document and started writing this to comfort myself.
Setting background: canon, but with worldbuilding borrowed from piaj. Future Rayla was somewhere in the region of 18+ years old, unspecified. Circumstances of the future and method of time travel left extremely deliberately vague. I have every intention of playing as fast and loose with this story as I can possibly manage; I already have one exhaustive and meticulous tdp work and I’m not interested in reallocating my brainpower from that to this.
Warning: what plans I have for this story heavily feature piaj worldbuilding that I consider pretty critical to the setting, and also unlikely to come out any time soon. Therefore, it’s pretty guaranteed that I’ll get two or three chapters in to publishing this and then have to keep the rest to myself for the next four years while piaj progresses.
 Other details:
Sunfin: a creature I came up with for piaj worldbuilding. It cannot breathe, and uses Sun magic in place of respiratory processes. If kept indoors it will die very quickly. It’s unintelligent and usually lives at high altitudes and will not generally touch the ground in its lifetime, but can be trained for use in farming, where it’s very useful in dispersing large amounts of Stuff (i.e. water, seeds, fertiliser) over a field from the sky. They’re basically crop dusters. Concept and name inspired by the Skyfin from endless legend. Looks somewhat more like a cross between an air shark and manta ray though.
Ezran: future Ezran in this setting was very, very powerful. Less so now that he’s a one year old baby. Rip.
Rayla: future Rayla learned how to use Moonshadow form at most times of the month, and in addition was eventually nagged by Callum into learning some spells. She uses them as part of her stealth repertoire but doesn’t consider herself a mage.
Callum: is baby.
Cat: a twin tailed inferno tooth tiger, highly trained, and in use by the Lux Aurea military as a war mount prior to his desertion in this story. They had a different name for him, but he rather prefers ‘Cat’.
Luçais: piaj worldbuilding; this is the in universe name for the French language as Draconic is the in universe name for Latin. Spoken by many Sunfire elves.

I haven't really asked people questions on Tumblr but I wonder what what sans looks like when he was 16 why don't you be in the comics he said he had a hot dog stand based on the fanfic it hasn't been made into a comic yet I'm thinking of making it into a comic myself and turning it into a shit post haha by the way I love your work how do you draw poses so easily?!?
Oh wow :'D Breathe, pal, it's okay :'D Good idea tho, we deserve teen-boy trying to sell some hotdogs and maybe hotcats too x)) So go ahead! >:0
And ummm? I wouldn't say it's that easy, since it took years for being able to draw poses like that and it's still far from perfect x)

Hotcattale (basic storyline)
Like every Story we have to start from the beginning of all.
Long time ago. In an AU of undertale there were monsters and humans. Both creatures needed the same kind of food to survive. The soul powers of the monsters scared The humans. The monsters were afraid of the soul energy of the humans. The fear turned into hate and a war began. In this war many lost their lives and both sides capitulated. The monsters were aware of the humans hate and so they moved out of all human villages to start a new life in peace. The only problem for the monsters in the mountains is the lacking source of food. Some of the best guards are hunting animals. The others are going to the cities to get other needed food supplies.
In these awful times of hate and rebuilding the life story of Sans and Papyrus begin. When the little skeleton opened his eyes he saw two taller skeletons in front of him. A huge smile were on their faces. They pick up the little skeleton and tell him: “My child. You made it. Of all the dead children's bodies, you made it to become a skeleton. We are so proud of you.” The surprised child looked around and saw something moving in the ashes. He started to move uncontrollable in the arms of the huge skeleton, only to tell them there was something. The female looking adult stuck her hand in the ashes and got out another little skeleton. The ashes made his bones look black and he sneezed a few times. The adults looked pleased. They grabbed their stuff and went to the forest where all the skeletons live.
Both kids grew up there and learned many new things. Even so they learned that skeletons can’t make kids like other monsters can. They need dead children in the age between 5-10 and have to put soulpower in them. Unfortunately not all kids become skeletons. That’s why the population of skeletons is looked over very careful. The two young skeletons knew they were from now on brothers and so they treated each other like. The smaller one got the name Sans, in the meaning of a calmness of the Ocean and the Sand. While the other one got the name Papyrus, in the meaning for the Power and Kindness from his soul. Sans was always the weaker skeleton of the both. He almost died of an unknown sickness and so his Heal Points (HP) went down to 1.
Papyrus and Sans often went outside to see others of their kind. But they never felt welcomed near them. When both got 15 they moved out. On that day all the skeletons in their villages said to them goodbye and wished them a ‘skeleton’ of luck. The brothers left the villages and walked many days to finally see the mountain they wanted to start a new life. They tardy walked in the entrance and asked other monsters where the king and queen were. On their way they met ,a bit younger as them, Asriel who showed them his parents. The royal family allowed the skelebrothers to live in the Underground. Toriel asked them kindly with a caring voice where they both want to live. Sans said: “I don’t mind any place. My bro should choose. He is the coolest in this stuff” Papyrus looked at the huge map on the walls of the gigantic room and pointed at Snowdin. He yelled: “There! This place should be as calm as Sans and as cool as me. Nyahaha.” Toriel looked at Asgore and both agreed. In snowdin was an old house where nobody lived. So the brother took this opportunity and made it their own.
Many years passed and the brothers grew in knowledge and happiness. While Sans found a job as scientist assistant in the labor from hotland. Papyrus made his hobby of cooking to his job in “Grillby’s”. But Papyrus' dream is to become a part of the royal guards. He wants to go outside and buy food for the monsters who need it. Sans and Papyrus are the only skeletons in the Underground. They always get from the town people rotten or spoiled food to eat and to cook with. They give this to the brothers not because they hate them. Generally because they don’t want to waste food. Even so skeletons can eat all kinds of food without getting sick.
One day the brother's knowledge about human and monster relationships broke apart.
Sans was in his room. All dressed in black and in front of his door was Papyrus in black too. He stared at the door wanting to knock but couldn't make him do it. He broke into tears.
Both had come home from the funeral of Asriel and his best human friend Chara. The brothers, Asriel and the twin sibling Chara and Frisk always have been very close to each other. One day when they were in a restaurant of all kinds Asriel and Chara got poisoned by the golden flower poison. The brothers ate the same dish. But because they are skeletons it had no effect on them. If Frisk had been there too, he would have gotten poisoned like his sister and the prince.
Sans was sitting in his room corner thinking why they couldn’t save them. Why they didn’t notice something was wrong. Papyrus otherwise was thinking how sad Frisk must be. Lost his twin sister and wasn’t able to be at the funeral because he is still ill.
A month later Sans and Papyrus are fine again. Of course they are still sad about the lost, but they need to work to earn money. Else they will lose the house and that’s what both don’t want to happen.
Sans walks nervous around in the labor and Dr. Gaster looks at him and asks kindly: “Sans. Do you think a maschine could produce all kinds of food, with water and the key atoms?” Sans stopped walking. He thinks about all possibilities and replies with yes. Gaster smiles and shows him a room which was always locked up. On the walls were plans for a food making maschine to solve the hunger of the monsters. The sketches and files amaze Sans . The doctor put his hand on his shoulder and whispered to him: “This will be your work from now on. Work on this machine and save the monsters. I will work on the core power machine in the meanwhile.” This is a huge job opportunity for Sans. After work he takes a shortcut to his home door and jumps into Papyrus arms. Both brothers walk inside the house. Walk to the kitchen, make tea and sit down on the table to talk about what happened on this day. They have no secrets from each other and speak open to each other. Papyrus tells Sans that people like the food he makes. The royal guard Undyne wants to teach him more cooking tricks. She was very impressed by his skills. Sans is happy for his brother and lets him talk for a while more until he tells him his news. At the moment Papyrus finished talking he tells him his whole day in detail. What a huge responsibility he has now. Even so he informs him that he will stay at the labor for a while. Papyrus stands up and hugs his brother.
The next day Sans walks to Papyrus and says: “Listen. I know you can stay alone for a while. Please be safe bro. I will be gone for about 2 or 3 months.” Papyrus looks at Sans and replies: “You don’t have to worry at all. The brilliant Papyrus will make sure everything is ok and safe! Be careful of your heavy bones”. With a last hug their paths split.
Stress is for Sans a foreigner word. He has never known stress until he sees the deadline for the machine to work and be ready to use. Sans calculations have to be all correct. Every mistake will take too much time to fix. So he worked fast but meticulous. Skeletons don’t necessari need sleep, so he had only 2 hours of sleep everyday. Gaster looks like a skeleton but isn’t so every night Sans is working alone in the labor. Often he gets scared that something will pop up out of the darkness. But this wasn’t a reason for him to stop working.
Day after day was hard work on his plan but 2 months later he finished the first machine of his kind.
In the 2 months Gaster hired a new assistant named Alphys. She is shy but it isn’t that bad to work with her. Sans invites Gaster for seeing and testing the prototype. Gaster sets up the maschine and pour the special liquid in the maschine. He starts the maschine and walks a few steps away from it. First all looks good but then Sans notices that the machine starts to form some cracks. He yelled at Gaster to walk farther away. But he was too late. A huge explosion is the result and Sans gets smashed to the wall behind him. He hits his head on the wall and his whole body gets covered in a strange hot liquid. He stands up and some of the liquid gets inside of his skull. The pain of the heat, how it burns through his skull and cracks it makes him faint.
When he opens his eyes he sees Papyrus and Alphys talking. He sits up and asks: “How long was I out.” Papyrus' face shows that he was sleeping for longer than 1 day. His brother jumps on his bed and gives him a strong hug. He cries in relief and Alphys goes outside to let both of them have some time for themselves. As soon as Papyrus finished crying himself out, Sans stands up. He sees in a mirror two cracks on each cheek and the almost full healed hole in the back of his skull. They go outside the room and Alphys asks Sans to do some task.
All monster kinds can use magic. Not all the same kind of magic, Skeleton uses bone magic.
She asked him to spawn some bones. Sans focuses and sees the bone in front of his spiritual eye. But at the moment he releases the power he spawns a hotdog which looks more cat-like. A hotcat? Sans tries again to make a bone but all he does is make hotcats. All in the living room are in shock. Sans runs upstairs in his room to do some more tests by himself. Papyrus walked behind him but he couldn’t enter the room in time. The still hurt skeleton tries harder than usual to make a bone but it doesn’t work. Only hotcats. He takes one and bite a piece off. It doesn’t look spoiled or anything. Warm is it too. All a sudden his back skull hole starts to heal up. Only a crack left. But cracks on his cheeks are still there. Sans calmed down and continued to test his other abilities. He still can do shortcuts and the telekinetic stuff. He can’t make bones and he is able to spawn two gaster blasters at the same time. To Sans' surprise the blasters can turn into Skelecats. He opens the door and Papyrus gets scared by the skelecats running out of Sans room. Alphys is already gone and both brothers walk downstairs in the living room to talk. Papyrus tells Sans that Gaster must have died. Not long ago a talking flower appeared after this bad event. Sans tells him that he not being able to make bowns isn’t as bad as he first thought. He can make food for other monsters and make them less starving and that he is more happier to be alive than dust.
A few weeks later Sans and Papyrus start to work together for Grillby and have a nice time. But then Sans got the idea to make his own little restaurant with papyrus. Papyrus agrees. With the help of their friends they build a little eating place which can move around hassle-free. The skeleton brother wants to become a travel food bistro. When they both are about to leave the underground, the royal family give them both a little present. A red scarf for papyrus and Sans gets a book full of jokes, to make them both laugh hard. This is a heartbreaking moment but the two boys know that this isn’t a goodbye forever. They walk away with the little bistro. Sans uses his telekinetic powers to move it around while papyrus is looking at the map where to go first. They decide fast where a good spot is to begin to earn money and a reputation. Sans walks around the small town offering humans and some monsters his hotcats. First they didn’t know what to think about this but soon everyone fell in love with these. It looks like the taste of hotcats varies from person to person. Some say it tastes sweet, some spicy and some salty. It depends on the person's preferences. The two make good money from them. Papyrus buys some food to cook healthy and taste food. Many humans and monsters love the taste of his dishes. The skeleton’s little restaurant becomes downright famous overnight. A few days later they closed the shop for the first time to get a small break. They walk around the town and talk a lot about what to improve and fix. In an alley Papyrus notices the talking flower he saw once in Snowdin and walks to him. The flower monster looks confused and a bit scared. Papyrus sits down in front of him and says in a kindly voice:”Hello little golden flower, why are you here in town? Are you following us?” He gets more confidence and replies to him:”Maybe. But I am here to see if you and the potato are doing fine.” The eye sockets from the huge skeleton become bigger and you can see sparkles in it. He hugs the flower and offers him to go on his shoulder so they can walk together around. The golden flower agrees and introduces himself to them as Flowey. Flowey tells them how he came to life and how confused he was first. Sans notices that the soul of the flower is awful similar to Asriel’s and asks him if he knew him. The bright yellow color from his blooms turns minor darker and he replies with a sad face: “ Yes and no. I somehow have his soul and heard his voice a few times. He told me one day that I am my own person and since then I haven’t heard of him.” Papyrus puts his hand on his head to make him feel a bit more comfortable. Sans starts to think and comes to the conclusion that the flower must be a by-product of the explosion he caused.
The sky went from a light blue to a red, violet color. The brothers arrive at their restaurant. Papyrus makes a movement to flowey to say that he can stay with them as long as he wants to. In Flowey’s face is happiness. Flowey became the mascot of the shop and is the first waiter too.
The next day the shop is booming. Many customers want to eat the special hotcat from Sans. Others some fresh made dishes from Papyrus. A human with brown hair and a yellowish skin comes to Sans and asks for the manager of this shop. He responds that he and his brother are the owner of this all. The human asks kindly if he can work there. Sans walks to Papyrus in the kitchen and asks if they should hire the human. Papyrus goes with Sans to the front and looks at the human diligent. He gasps and says that the human is Frisk. Frisk smiles and says: “Hehe. Long time not see you two. Sans to be honest, what happened to you? Did you fight with a dog and lost? hehe.” Sans explains all and both skeletons decide to hire Frisk in their small business. The not so tall human is already 19 and so he can legal work for them. At the end of the day all 3 monsters and Frisk help to clean the shop and set up a sleep area for Frisk.
They stayed 2 months in the small town and then continued their journey to another town.
After a year Flowey and Frisk discovered the other AUs. They told the skelebrothers about this. Since that day they are known as AU travel Restaurant “Hotcattale”. Which stays in every AU at least 1 week.
The end.
(I know. The story is not good. but it gives a good view about this AU and what makes it unique ^^)

gentle hugs
After finishing the crackledrake, the queen flew the Amaya back to the camp. The general wasn't ready to say goodnight just yet, and stalled for more time by asking about proper hotcat care. She ignored the fluttering in her chest as she watched rider and mount bond over brushing and playful headbutts. But all good things must come to an end, both of them had demanding roles to play, and so much work to do in the morning.
Ever the chivalrous not-date, Janai escorted Amaya to her tent and thanked her for the company. There was a moment of awkwardness, normally this would be the time for a kiss goodnight, but Janai was still healing. An attraction was there, but she was not ready for anything more than a little mild teasing, which left the pair wondering how to end what was clearly a romantic evening.
Amaya settled the issue by taking Janai's hand and placing a soft kiss upon it. She couldn't help but smile when she felt the elven skin heat up under her lips as the queen blushed.
-I'll see you tomorrow.- Amaya signed slowly.
"Yes. Well...goodnight." She said looking at the ground. Amaya had to ask her to repeat.
She put her arms around the taller woman's shoulder and gently pulled her close. Strong arms hugged her firmly, and they stood, locked in an embrace for as long as Amaya could stand it. She had to pull away or risk asking her to come in.
-Goodnight.-
"Goodnight." she instantly regretted it, realizing she'd already said it, "...Again."
-Goodnight again.- Amaya smiled and put Janai out her misery by walking into her tent. Gren was waiting for her.
-Hey General, you're back late.- His smile was somehow both very supportive and hopeful...and had a trace of a brother just waiting to tell their parents that big sister didn't get back until after midnight.
-I didn't realize the boss had a curfew.-
-Of course not, I'm just insinuating that your date must've gone well.-
-She said we were friends.- Such a strange statement to go starry-eyed over, but here she was.
-Yes! Progress!- He gave two thumbs up. -Tell me all about it."
