A lil AU to get back in the groove! Princess keeps showing up to see her brother, and the clans are Concerned that this very autistic woman keeps walking the woods alone, so Bluestar assigns Sandpaw to guide her back each time. Turns out Princess' special interests are survivalism and kitten care, so when Princess' owners move and leave her behind, she becomes a perma queen - she brings Smudge and his son Cloudkit with her too.

Sand and Princess have the kits same as canon, but Maplepaw, a healer apprentice, goes on the Quest. She still discovers the Moonpool, but also a smaller pool of dark water hidden under tree roots. She meets a spirit with her prefix, and while trying to corrupt her, Mapleshade is influenced to admit her women's wrongs and be reborn - in Squirrelstalker and Shrewleap's litter, as a little dark brown tortie molly...with a pale grey brother and a golden sister...
