Sul sul laddies, femmes & gents! Welcome to my official simblr!

I'll be doing the #upgrowthchallenge by HollieBB with a bit of the updated rules from the #DecadesChallenge by Cutecoffeegal, starting in 1890 and then ending in 2080. I will try to keep this simblr updated as much as possible with all the wackiness that it entails and post lookbooks of each character, including all the CC links used. There will be a separate post for all general mods & CC used in gameplay.

**DISCLAIMER**

I am a bi/demi pale Puerto Rican femme married to a straight white American male and in no way a fashion historian or historian in general. I'm mostly interested in playing these challenges to enrich my gameplay and to be able to expand on the legacy concept, since I've never been able to make it past 1 or 2 generations in regular gameplay. I'm trying to challenge myself to stay committed to this and I will try to do my research in order to portray every ethnic group represented in my stories in the most respectful way possible. If you spot any historical inaccuracies in terms of fashion, buildings, environment, behavior, etc., kindly point them out. Though, please note that I will probably mostly play for funsies and not strictly for historical accuracy.

I also mean to play this game as realistically as possible so there will be light NSFW scenarios such as Teen Pregnancy, Race/Ethnicity, Period-Typical Sexism, Gendered Language, War, Death, Suggestive (but not explicit) Content, Infidelity/Cheating, Religion, Menstruation, Infertility, Alcohol, Smoking, Period-Typical (mild) Homophobia, etc.

The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this simblr are fictitious, unless indicated otherwise. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, etc, blah blah blah disclaimer this and that, you know the drill.

This project will probably take a while to finish, but I'm willing to take on the task. Thank you to those who are staying to follow me on this upcoming weirdly exciting journey...and so long to the 80% of bots that are just gathering dust in my followers section.

The Queen’s Revenge

So you want to be a Pirate eh? Got a hunger for buried treasure do ya? Well Matey it's not all stolen gold and pieces of eight for the crew of the Queen's Revenge, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up.. So start swabbing the decks and spit polishing the brass fixtures until the Captain can see himself in them. Then maybe the Cap  will let you make yer mark in the crew's log, and give you a share of the booty.

Way back in 2015 I did a Pirate Ship build collaboration with the lovely @tinkeringtinkle and her amazing custom content called Buccaneer’s Bay.  Back in those days ship builds were landlocked, but those times are gone now.  While I had always intended to eventually get around to converting my old Pirate Ship build for use in Sulani, it wasn’t until I saw @drgluon and his pirate takeover game play, and @HollieBB created her “Dock and Roll” build challenge that I knew the time had come.  

I’ll post more pictures of this build tomorrow (I’ve got a bunch), but in the meantime you can find The Queen’s Revenge in my SimDoughnut gallery (user id: simdoughnut).  This NoCC build sits on the 50x50 water lot in Sulani and is set up as a residence for would be Pirates.  I had a ton of fun with this build, and I hope you have as much fun with this build in your game.

A quick note about the Upgrowth Challenge

For those of you who may not have heard about the Upgrowth Challenge: you can find everything here. I just tweaked the rules a little bit to include the newest packs and stuff (omg soon the Island Living pack’s gonna be released, and I can’t wait to play with my 60′s sims at the beach ⛱🧜🏻‍♀️)

It was created by HollieBB and was inspired by the well-known Decades & History Challenges. Except that this one goes from the 1900′s to the 2080′s!

I seriously had a blast playing this the first time, that's why I wanted to share my new save with you guys!

Took part in the HollieBB Summer Vacation challenge, and rolled the dice to get the number which was a rustic recess. I decided to go the log cabin route and this was the end result. Gotta say I feel kind of proud.

For those of you who know me, you know that I am a self-proclaimed Custom Content addict. I’ve done many different types of saves and many different types of stories that required different types of CC. The common solution to this is to have a folder that has that specific CC that you pull in and out. HOWEVER, I have found that it occasionally causes problems because I may forget to take it out, use it on a sim or in a build and then when I do remember that item is missing. UGH. So annoying. You could leave it all in there, but then you are faced with excessive load times, lag, and heaven forbid you to try to the find that one piece of CC clutter or that cute top you just downloaded. 

Is this your life? Well, I have news for you. I’m here to make your life easier. 

You can make separate occurrences of The Sims 4 that is SUPER easy to switch between, keep game load times down, and protect your saves.

How do you do this, you ask? It’s really a super simple trick! Each time you boot your game up for the first time the game automatically creates a “The Sims 4″ folder in your documents.

It’s usually under this pathway Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4

But here’s the thing. You can make as many of these as you want without affecting your game. 

It works a little like this:

If you take a look at that picture, I have 5 different versions of The Sims 4! They all have all the files they need but are broken down by whatever save they have in them. 

The way this works is that you make each folder and then you rename it. I add a - + whatever save that instance contains. 

How do you switch between them?

Say, looking at the photo, I decided I wanted to open my Mimic save file I would do these steps.

1 - Rename the folder called “The Sims 4″. That one is my Trichotomy save so I would name it “The Sims 4 - Tri”. Now the game no longer recognizes it as it being a file folder for The Sims!

2 - Select the folder I want to use, in this case “The Sims 4 - Mimic” and remove the second part. I would delete “- Mimic” and now my folder would just be named “The Sims 4″

3 - Boot up your game! You should now have everything you need for that save in it!

Setting it up and organizing may take a little while, but TRUST ME, it’s worth it. It protects your saves, keeps clutter out of your library, and makes sure you’re only using the CC you need. I went from having it all together with a load time of 45 minutes to over an hour to having all the CC I need for each save and my game loading in just minutes.

And thank heavens for no longer having to delete/quick makeover sims that pop up with Alien details in my all human Teenage Drama save.

Just for funsies. Again.. no rhyme or reason and insanely lazy editing and no posing. The challenge I’m currently working on is what I really want to put more effort into, so.. yeah..

Here we have the newly weds, Charles and Elenora Dalton. Charles is a farmer and wood carver of comfortable means while Elenora has a passion for painting and reading where she finds time. Most of her younger years, Elenora would sneak books into bed whenever she could and dare to have fictional adventures within it’s precious pages. Charles, head over heels with his lovely bride, has given her all the freedom to read to her heart’s content. No more squinting by candlelight for Elenora! In turn, Elenora makes a huge effort to keep Charles well fed and his home pristine while longing for the day she can give him children of their own to love. 

*Note* The home that the Dalton’s are currently occupying was made by the sweet @ivyandink who is currently doing videos of her Upgrowth Challenge! The challenge itself was created by HollieBB.

Hey, lovely! I saw your post a bit ago about wanting two sims games with different CC styles in each. If I'm understanding you correctly, that's actually totally possible! I have one game file for playing and one for building, that way my CC doesn't glitch out my building save. I found out how to do this from HollieBB; the title of her tutorial vid is "Upgrowth | Folders and Modding" on YouTube. I don't know if it'll let me send a link, but regardless I hope this helps a bit!
