Coming back to this previous ingo×irida-ish post because my job gives me an unfortunate amount of time to think and anyway, an alternative version:
While in the modern day, maybe Irida sees something online, or maybe some kind of traveling history museum exhibit visits Pasio etc, but the point is she sees old historical photos of Warden Ingo. And most of those photos aren't anything new or super surprising for her- hell, she literally remembers Laventon taking these exact ones. She's even in some of them.
The part that surprises her is that there are photos from later years that include Emmet.
Because at the point in time that Irida left Hisui through the rift, she had no idea who Emmet was. Ingo had told her about his Man in White, but that was all they knew. Emmet wasn't in Hisui.
But judging by these photos and documents, he eventually will be.
So Irida still takes Ingo's hands and promises to find him later. And she still sadly tells both brothers to make the most of their time here together, and make sure to live life without regrets.
Irida goes through the closing rift back to Hisui, and she tells Warden Ingo what she learned from her trip to the future. Ingo can't thank her enough; he just needs to wait, and they'll be reunited...eventually. At some point. Just no idea when.
And it lasts years. Irida goes out to the highlands one day, and she can tell this is a Bad Day because Ingo is just kinda sitting there, up near the peak, staring out over the vastness of Hisui and dissociating. Like he's trying to watch for something, just waiting for it to happen. Irida almost regrets telling him on days like these, but it's not as though she can take it back now.
Ingo doesn't particularly acknowledge her greeting, so Irida sits next to him. Still nothing, so she sidles over and presses up against Ingo's arm until he finally presses back a bit. He never stops watching the sky, though. Close enough.
"This waiting is...difficult."
"I know." Irida follows his tattered black sleeve down from his elbow until she can find his hand, grips his cold fingers between hers and squeezes. She's sure he'll arrive soon, though. As much as it hurts to see Ingo like this, watching him give up would be so much worse.
"Just keep waiting patiently...just hold on a little bit longer, ok?"

The reveal that Adaman and Irida ending up in Pasio really marks Pasio as a weird location with a lot of space-time shenanigans going on, mostly due to Hoopa. I won't be surprised to find that it exist in its own pocket dimension or something.

I cannot wait for more Hisui characters to end up on Pasio and also for Masters EX to just completely avoid the Ingo problem by being like "Oh ha ha this guy from Hisui looks just like you and you share a name he must be your ancestor and you're named after him ha ha!" (probably) dshgjkfnsgfdh

zoroark mama emmet on pasio is not having a good time. There's tons of other hims here, but they're all cooler than him, and worse, seem to be on good terms with that guy who Must Not Be Named who STOLE HIS FACE and is prolly some weird zorua! If only he could be someone else. Someone cooler, whose... identity... Wouldn't be questioned... *sees nobori running past, on the run from multiple ingo's and emmets, like he has multiple times in the past* wait! That's it!
That nobori is a really strong battler, from the times emmet has faced him in the past, and he's always running around with barely a moment to stop and talk to the people on this island! And his family is mysterious, other than that other emmet who hangs around him sometimes... So nobody will question it if nobori suddenly gets a "twin" who "only recently landed in pasio"! Plus he can get tips on battling from the other ppl always chasing him WITHOUT them knowing he has a weird zorua doppelganger! It's perfect (he ignores the question of whether the other emmet often seen w nobori would know and refute the twin thing, and also the question of how he's going to explain having eelektrik when nobori has a totally sinnohan partner Pokemon)!
So emmet gets some hair dye and reinvents himself as "kudari", nobori's long-lost brother who is so happy to be here and is totally not nervous and has never had overprotective parents! Just parents who never told him he had a brother! Nothing to see here, and he's totally not emmet you guys!
Emmet. Emmet please. This is not a viable solution, namely for the fact that Nobori will clock you right away!! But thankfully it manages to not blow up in his face, since Nobori does the adult thing and sits Emmet down and has a a long talk with him about why he felt the need to do something like this in the first place, and proves to be really helpful in working through his issues!
He also points out that all these other Emmets have Ingos, so maybe this Zorua isn't actually a Zorua but is actually his twin? Why not give getting to know him a shot? You might be pleasantly surprised by the results! And Emmet thanks him for the help, and vows to try and get to know this weird kid with his face, even though he's not TOTALLY convinced he's not a Zorua yet.
Meanwhile, Nobori's Emmet has been watching the whole thing from behind a bush. Nobori has been aware he's been watching the entire time and just tells him to come out already, and when he does, he just has the biggest shit eating grin on his face. LIke... that was some verrry good advice, Ingo. Verrry like you! But also verrry funny to hear coming out of a 14 year old.
Nobori just throws his shoe at him.

Ok, idea for the PokeRus!AU...
Something happens to the timeline, and the pokerus affects only a select few. So while the villain team leaders are affected, the only one unaffected is Cyrus.
Or Red becomes hjs Mega Charizard and is terrified of hurting his cousin Blue.
Or even the chance of a fusion transformation, with Lusamine being a pheramosa and nihilego fusion, or Emmet being a galvantula with some features of gliscors and chandelures.
Just a neat thought.

Obsessing over the new ingirida / nobokai possibilities in pokemas after the pla update because oh my goddddddddd
Just. Irida hanging out with the twins for a few days in Pasio, getting to spend time with them and even become friends, and realizing that this really is Ingo, but it's not her Ingo, at least not yet. But she doesn't really have any way of knowing what to do about this, and she can't stick around long enough to figure it out. She has to go back.
Irida very seriously taking Ingo's hands in hers and looking up at him and telling him that if he ever finds himself at a loss somewhere and with nowhere to go, come to the pearl clan. Come find her. She'll help him, she swears it.
Ingo finds it a little odd, but she says it so sadly (plus there's a cute girl holding his hands dbkxjske) and so sincerely that he can't really bring himself to ask about it. Ingo nods and tells her yes, ok, he promises he'll come find her someday, they'll see each other again.
And Irida looking as though she might cry as she stands in front of the rift, telling Emmet to please, please, take good care of Ingo, spend lots of time with him... Treasure all of it, don't take it for granted, ok?

Silly little idea but what if Volo in the masters timeline meets someone who looks just like his S/O from the past
so do you mean like they were pulled through a portal or like their descendant. going for former but latter is interesting too
cw: short, pasio volo,
pairing: Volo/Reader
Many things in life made curiosity swell within Volo's mind. It was why he was often scolded by Cogita and Ginter about abandoning his duties to explore old ruins or investigate artefacts that he found lying around the region. This sense of wonder only would increase in such a land as Pasio. That portal truly had brought him to a place that seemed almost mythical in its existence. Powerful trainers abound in droves, legendaries were almost as common a sight as their regular counterparts, conspiracies, and organisations devoted to various beliefs found their way to this strange place. It was truly little wonder that Volo himself had ended up here.
His desperate prayers for a place to finally extract the will that he so desperately wished for were answered. Arceus would likely appear here sooner than one might think. All three of its creations were here, after all. In possession of trainers that he would not dare poke alone… No, Volo would have to tread these waters carefully. Rei had been pulled here, too. Foolishly, it seemed that he had not alerted anyone to the meeting they had on Mount Coronet. Volo had more than enough room to act and gather the information that he needed.
It was as he strolled through the city square, observing conversations among the people around, that one person particularly caught his eye. That hair colour reminded him of someone… He blinked as he turned to observe the person from the front. For a moment, he truly believed that his heart stopped. You…? What were you doing here? Had you pulled here? He stood stiffly as the wind blew through the area. You gazed back at him with eyes that held no strong emotion.
You… It was you, was it not? Did you not recognise him? He was not in any disguise… He was plainly himself. There were a few people who had resembled those of his time around the island, but he knew that they were entirely separate people. This person before him was without a doubt his lover, however. Too many small details aligned perfectly with his recollection of them. He swallowed. But… That Rei and Lucas… Their similarities were chief in his mind as he contemplated his thoughts. They barely had few things that separated them. Only memories.
This you… A version of you before you had fallen into Hisui. One that had no idea of the plans Volo had — One that lacked the relationship that he had with you. Part of the blond wanted to yell about how cruel the creation continuously was to him, but another knew that this situation was partly on him. He shook off whatever negative feelings wanted to consume his mind and brought his friendly smile to his lips. “Hello,” his hand waved at you, “Sorry for staring, I thought that you were someone I knew!”
Those words seemed to make whatever distress you had vanished.
Volo easily would worm his way into this you's life. He truly had been missing his partner… Perhaps, this was his wish granted again.
You, foolishly, were just happy that a handsome man clearly wanted your time and attention.

AZ was one of the most interesting characters ever in a Pokemon game and I want more info on him!
Tumblr media
The Ultimate Weapon he built is probably one of the craziest things from Pokemon lore. It was originally built with the power to restore his Floette's life that had been taken in war, at the cost of draining tons of other Pokemon used as living batteries of theirs. That's horrifying.
Then, to end that war, he converts the device to a Legendary-powered death ray capable of splitting entire dimensions when fired. It's at this point Floette realized what depths he sank to to bring her back and leaves him, horrified by his actions.
As a fun tidbit: It's believed by Sycamore that when he fired it, the Weapon's light created Mega Stones.
He built this with the technology he had on hand 3000yrs ago. Meanwhile, in Hisui, something like PokeBalls are a fairly recent invention. I kinda wonder if the Weapon's use caused so much destruction it ended up setting the technology back.
We never see a Floette like his (we know the flowers they liked don't really grow anymore tho from Pokedex entries, so perhaps they just died out?), but his was programmed in as an event Pokemon and only actually got cut in Gen8. She even had the special event move Light of Ruin and everything.
Tumblr media
Him and Lysandre are related, with Lysandre being a descendant of his brother? Shame we don't really get much interaction between them tho, we don't even really know how or where they captured AZ in the first place. (Also, I feel him and Sycamore could have had some interesting interactions too if the Professor had been a bit more actively involved in the story...)
I feel like it was a missed opportunity we didn't get him in Legends? Like, he doesn't really have any ties to Sinnoh but given his age and wandering the world in search of his Floette, it still would have been cool to see him again or get some kind of reference to him. (We did get a nod to him in ORAS, that big tree in Sootopolis was planted by him.)
Tumblr media
(I hope he finds his way to Pasio eventually, at least! Or that we get a Legends game set in Kalos one day, either before the war or shortly after it ends.)

The insistence that that Irida is a minor is wild to me because that would mean Adaman spent the entire main storyline beefing with a teenager, and Adaman doesn’t waste his time on stupid things.
Anyway, she’s an adult—Rei literally, canonically refers to her as a “woman” early in the game—and there is nothing weird about speculating she and Adaman eventually end up together and have children that branch off into descendants like Barry and Perrin.
GF seems to be pointing in that direction anyway, as Irida suggests she and Mai (Adaman’s sister) talk about Adaman frequently, and Adaman himself starts to make more friendly overtures toward Irida postgame, including him arranging that the two of them should take a photo together (as a “symbol” of Hisui’s bright future — good lord, I could do up a whole post about the implications of Adaman thinking he and Irida being together means good things for Hisui and is a subtle hint at eventual clan unification) and the strong possibility that he asked her to come perform in the Diamond Clan Settlement. (Really, who else but Adaman would have invited Irida to perform the flute among the Diamond people?)
And look at this art from Take, the person who designed Adaman and Irida:
Tumblr media
The tension. The closeness. It is easy to read the pair as falling into the enemies to lovers trope by design.
This toes into noncanon land, but I’ll also talk about Masters because it gives us more insight into what their relationship is like postgame. In story mode, Adaman and Irida argue, sure, but there’s also a level of synergy between them that’s very interesting. They finish each other’s thoughts. They bounce ideas off each other. They consult with each other (off screen) and decide to stay on Pasio and place their Pokémon into Poké Balls.
And then, in the trainer lodge, their favorite conversation topics include each other. For those who don’t play Masters, the lodge is an area where you can interact with and build friendships with various characters through conversations. In short, you select from a randomized list of conversation topics, and each character has a three-tier list of possible conversation topics; the more the character enjoys the topic, the more points you score. “Irida” is a top-scoring conversation topic for Adaman, and “Adaman” is a top-scoring conversation topic for Irida. The game makes it obvious that in spite of their bickering, they’re now friends!
In conclusion: Ship away, my friends. The fanfic practically writes itself.
