وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتَأْمُرُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلَتَنْهَوُنَّ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ أَوْ لَيُوشِكَنَّ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عِقَابًا مِنْهُ ثُمَّ تَدْعُونَهُ فَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَكُمْ

“By the one in whose hand is my soul, you must enjoin good and forbid evil, or else Allāh will soon send punishment upon you. Then, you will call upon Allāh and it will not be answered for you.”

Sunan al-Tirmidhi‌ (no. 2169). Authenticated by Shaykh Ahmad Shākir in Umdah At-Tafsīr (1/715).

‘Aishah reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said,

مُرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَوْا عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَدْعُوا فَلَا يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ

“Enjoin good and forbid evil before you call upon Allāh and He does not answer you.”

Sunan Ibn Ma‌jah (no. 4004).

Action Plan:

- Spread Salām to everyone in your community (males to males & same for women)

- Enjoin good, forbid evil with gentleness.

- Give your fellow Muslims humble advice without belittling them.

Major context if you're not up to date on my Twitter, yesterday a queer Muslim woman spoke out against the rising islamophobia white leftists became preaching after the death of Eden Knight (blessed be upon her).

In retaliation, Lola (the queer muslim woman) was hacked by an islamophobic white leftist who was enraged by her words and she went missing. If the hacker isn't lying, what they did was report her for homosexuality and dissension online in the country she lives in (Egypt), effectively using hisbah laws to imprison her.

This disgusts me on such a level, I was sick and on top of that, Lola is *pregnant* with her first baby.

May Lola get the justice she deserves.

Kano Correctional Centre explains disappearance of Tiktoker Murja from prison

The Kano State Prison Command has dismissed reports that a renowned Tiktoker Murja Ibrahim Kunya escaped from one of their facilities. The authority were quick to explain that Murja Ibrahim Kunya was released on the orders of a State High Court. Kunya was declared wanted alongside five others by the Kano State Hisbah Board, the State Shari’a Police, and arrested at Hotoro Tinshama area of the city late last week. She was arrested on complaints of her neighbours over her alleged immoral behaviour which included public nuisances, attempt to corrupt and recruit young girls into prostitution and sharing explicit material and vulgar language on social media. After her arrest, she was arraigned at a Sharia Court in the Gama ward of the city, where the judge, Malam Nura Yusuf Ahmed, remanded her in prison until Tuesday, 20 February, 2024 for hearing on her bail application. Kunya was remanded after she denied the charges read to her by the prosecutor of the case, Aliyu Abideen. But on Sunday, two days before the adjourned date, reports emerged that she had disappeared from prison custody, prompting speculations on whether she had escaped. However, a spokesman for the Kano Correctional Centre, Musbahu Kofar Nasarawa, said Murja Kunya did not escape custody, but was instead released by the court, which remanded her. Musbahu said the Tiktoker was released since Thursday, meaning she spent only two days in custody instead of seven. “It was a court that brought her to us for remand, and it was the same court that ordered us to release her,” he said. The Press Secretary, Malam Bature Dawakin-Tofa, who made this known in a statement on Sunday in Kano, said the warehouse was at Sharada Industrial Estate Dawakin-Tofa said Gov. Abba Yusuf and the government officials were conducted round the isolated warehouse where the hijacked food items were kept along drum of chemicals. The governor expressed shock and vowed to punish whoever was involved in the scandalous act of diverting the palliative food items consisting of maize and rice. He immediately directed the commissioner of police to take over the warehouse and conduct swift investigation to fish out the culprits. The development occurred following a tip off from some community members in Sharada who discovered suspicious movement of unknown persons around the warehouse and reported the matter to the Sharada Police Division. While briefing Yusuf on the spot at the warehouse, one of the Sharada community leaders, Mr Rabiu Amour, said thousands of bags branded with the governor’s portrait and designed as palliatives were discovered to be re-bagged. “We know these food items are meant to be distributed to less privileged people, therefore we decided to blow the whistle. ”This is our contribution to the good efforts of the governor; he is trying his best to help the downtrodden but some people within the system are sabotaging his effort,” he said. Shortly after the inspection, the governor directed the state Commissioner for Agriculture, Danjuma Mahmoud, to brief the media. The commissioner told newsmen that investigation had commenced on the matter. Mahmoud said parts of the rice and maize hijacked were meant to be distributed to the people living with disabilities and widows of armed forces officers and other security agencies in Kano.
