Tiny Escaflowne Newsletter (Happy 2023! Edition)

Over the past weeks, there have been a few things I wanted to share, so I decided to make this post summarizing them all!

✨Escaflowne rerun on German TV channel Pro7Maxx starting January 3!

More info, airing times etc. can be found here. It seems to have been rebroadcast in other countries last year as well, for example, France (Mangas channel) in the beginning of this year. In Japan, it is occasionally rebroadcast on the cable Animax channel. The series can now also be streamed on Amazon Prime in several countries.

✨Hirotoshi Sano, mechanical director of Escaflowne, joined twitter.

You can find his account here, he shares mostly his genga and concept art, and you can definitely spot some Escaflowne piece from time to time!

✨Escaflowne character designer Nobuteru Yuuki, turned 60!

✨Another prolific animator, Satoshi Koike, shared a rough drawing of Van!

Again, you can view it on his personal twitter. Got a little excited because he is an active animator working on anime projects these days and it looks like a sketch for official art, but it looks like he first posted it back in 2013 already. So it might just be a personal work then. Nevertheless...
