Papyrus: mutual friends, chat all the time online

Sans: blocks but then unblocks him periodically. He'll try to cyberbully Sans but Sans just trolls him right back in a way that feigns innocence + pisses Flowey off so bad he blocks him. Cycle repeats.

Toriel: She does not use the internet.

Undyne: Does not follow her because Papyrus forwards every post she makes to him anyway

Alphys: He sends her anon messages. At first, it was anon hate because he was in a bitchy mood (he has Opinions ™ on anime, as he spent many timelines befriending her and was forced to watch SO much anime) but then it turned into like. genuine conversations and feedback. they're friends. I'm not sure if she knows who he is.

Mettaton: has him blocked -both him and his aggressive ad campaign promoting his brand. But somehow??? (probably with Alphys' help) mettaton evades the block somehow.

Frisk: Frisk just posts photos of things they are doing without a caption except maybe like. an emoji. This would happen a few years post-pacifist as Toriel wouldn't give them internet access at first

Chara: Uses Frisk's phone to cyber bully their brother. They're best friends.

Hey idk if honourable mentions via asks are still a thing (if they are and/or you find this ask to be too long) but godDAMN Alphys Undertale should've been in this I really regret missing the submission period

Okay so Alphys is like, a mess??? Like, I don't know how to explain it all so I think I'll get a previous writing of mine that explains most of the deal with her (the True Lab stuff isn't explained but that is a Whole Mess that would make this 8 paragraph-long ask even longer):

Context: I made a comment mentioning people hating on Undertale characters after appearing to express an enjoyment for a character that I like, someone asked me to rant about it, and I did, making a third of my analysis about Alphys (the rest was about Asgore, who's on the competition, and Toriel, whose hate is fairly minor compared to the others):

"I said it a couple times that Alphys is the least popular character in the game, and it's by a landslide. Why? Well, there are a few reasons, mainly the irredeemable crime of being annoying, because Toby Fox didn't think it through fully and made it so that the Texts in Hotland and the CORE repeated after each death and replay, so you're forced to see the exact same jokes every time you die to literally anything.

That's just the main reason, though, we still have to talk about her manipulation and compulsive lying! She manipulates Frisk through the areas where she's present in a way to act as a Cool Supporting Character, deliberately delays Mettaton's Gender-Affirming Surgery body finalization because she's afraid of losing her only friend, and makes small white lies to Undyne so she can seem cooler to her. These are the main issues, and seem to come from a place of bad mental health and some sort of mental disorder, but a lot of people really dislike her just because of that and then proceed to tell Undyne that Anime is real not to hurt her feelings despite that being a dick move to Alphys because it forces her to say that AGAIN WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.

There's also the apparent incompetence of her actions in the True Lab but honestly those are like 5 cans of worms that I Do Not Want To Get Into, so basically a lot of people misinterpret Catty and Bratty's dialogue in a way that makes it seem like Alphys lied to Asgore to get the job, but that's a completely baseless assumption, and considering how Mettaton works and what was asked of her I don't think it makes much sense.

The issue here is that people are dunking on Alphys's questionable actions when Asgore has done much worse, and then completely missing the point of her character. It's annoying and pretty much omnipresent in the fandom, with a particularly bad case of it being in this video, that calls out the fandom's mistreatment of Asgore and then proceeds to literally call stuff that Alphys didn't do, or was forced to do, out, like lying to get her job (again, not true), or not warning anyone about Flowey (she was being manipulated by him). It's a huge mess that comes from a gameplay annoyance but turned into something way bigger."

Idk if she should qualify due to most of the feelings towards her being fully negative, but eh Mineta did and I'm yet to see someone who genuinely enjoys him :P

favorite neutral ending in undertale? (also if you could tell a story taking place in/after that ending what would it be about?)

ohhh, all the neutral endings are absolutely brutal, this is such a hard choice for me! but probably a tie between queen alphys or leaderless.

mostly because of the calls, those are the only neutral endings whose monologues i have fully memorized. alphys' speech sends shivers down my spine, especially as she gets more confident the more she talks before saying "i really should have killed you when i had the chance" with that vaguely reminiscent look on her face.

leaderless on the other hand just feels much more depressing. "there's a bad feeling hanging over everyone, like we're all just going to die here trapped in the dark". it's such a horribly hopeless thing that the only way i can imagine that timeline ending is everything going horribly quiet before suddenly cutting to black, as if swallowed. if that makes sense?

as for what story i'd tell - aftermath of king mettaton or any empress undyne ending would be perfect for a story. nothing particularly meaningful happening plot-wise - just for character exploration. i actually do like thinking about that sort of thing for long periods of time, but my thoughts on it are kind of embarrassing haha

What do you think Dess was like in undertale?

oh this is a good one! i actually have a lot more thoughts about the lightners' lives in undertale (given that the deltarune light world is, quite intentionally, extremely uncomfortable to think about for long periods of time — what with how it's a place where the lightners can look away from the personhood of the darkners, ect. deltarune's about the dark world first and foremost, and recognizing that personhood head-on, so that's what i prefer to do.)

dess is very much like the bleach-blonde sleazebag horror junkie i write her as in my deltarune stuff, but she's the mayor of the capital city in this world (rest in peace, holiday parents) and barely spends any time around noelle at all now that they're both adults. there's also a larger difference in age between her and her sister here — in deltarune, i have dess as around six years older than noelle, whereas in undertale she's over ten years older. most of my ideas for dess also center around the king mettaton neutral ending, where she's trying to bargain with said king in the hopes of using the true lab for her own ends. (i've also got the Highest Level Dark Lawyer berdly lined up in the cast for that ending, but that's a story for another day...)

Well this is my galaxyexplores!tale au, I know there are several aus with this Space theme, but this multiverse does not follow the story of the original undertale, in fact it is a non-linear open UNIVERSE full of adventures and things happening at the same time, this universe is the storehouse of magic weapons of my muitverse its main objective is to create objects, weapons, armor and other things the most magical, as if it were a great intergalactic market, I based it mainly on the Planet of the treasure so much so that Plêiades has the same personality by Jim Hawkins, and this multiverse is divided into 4 planets and I'll tell you about each one of them ^^:

this planet has a very interesting magnetism in addition to being very rich in electricity, the compotes of the planet is composed of copper, gold and silver, the abyssants were the wreckage of robots left as sulcata on this planet, one of these was mettaton and My Byite they began Seeing that the planet's metal was useful, and exposing the multiverse more, they discovered how to make machines and even their own citizens, Mettaton liked his world so much that he decided to open a place to host robots and other inhabitants who wanted to rest a little, the city is big and very futuristic and advanced with several products created by mettaon, its commerce is interstellar

the cratos live in a very crude society, let's say they have 2 species of males the alphas and the omegas, the omegas are more ineligible but weak and they don't have their genetics modified, the alphas are seen as leaders in the plant but they are more brute force that head, the problem is that when the Alphas arrived in evolution they took care of the females, the females preferred them, since the omega males they were excluded and betrayed as weak and inute, it is very rare to see a female marry an omega , then the omegas began to reproduce with other breeds, but there came a point that they evolved their genetics and now their genetics (as well as male cats) began to take over the future genetics of females, 99% were from the father and 1% from the mother (only as a genetic basis for creating the fetus and to determine whether the child would be born XY or XX) so this species was seen as a parasite in the entire universe, because it could annihilate species from other planets, now there is a law that if you are going to marry With a Cratos you need to make sure you want to keep it tenderly and accept this fate of your genetics of your species of your family being eradicated forever.

Curse Shoulder Spirits: When Frisk finally arrives, do Undyne + Alphys + Sans + Asgore become better or worse (with their Spirits haunting them)?… Will Sans actually try to keep Toriel’s Protection Promise?… Does Mettaton still want to destroy Frisk, despite knowing that if he does, Frisk will become Mettaton’s personal Shoulder Spirit? 👻👻👻

Well... Undyne & Sans I see being very stubborn & resistant. Most likely getting worse in different ways rather than better. Probably thinking that they're lying.

Alphys, I see getting worse in a very different way, but also kinda better depending on your perspective. For her, she'd get worse in a feels guilty & hates herself way. We could say that part of the reason she became so depressed in the first place was having to see a miserable little 5-6 year old girl with mousy brown hair in adorable pigtails either weeping in a corner, screaming in pain, or just quietly sitting curled up in a ball of depression against a wall.

It'd very much be like an abused child trying to keep out quiet & not make problems for her abuser in hopes of being spared. As a result, I think that Alphys would be unable to experiment on Kindra's soul or body. So Sans would have to. However, Alphys would also be unable to stop him from doing so due to her cowardice. Kindra's thing's heart would break every time Alphys would dissect another human or extract DT from another soul. This would eventually lead to Alphys having to leave that stuff to Sans. However, she would be able to bring herself to inject DT into the fallen down monsters because she really, genuinely believes that she was helping them. Which would just further crush her when they started melting together. Kindra screaming in fear & sadness would not help either.

I see it going either way with Mettaton. Though, I think that it's more likely for him to try to find a way to unbind his Clarice from Undyne & to him, then try to convince Alphys to try & research a way to create a body for Clarice the way she created one for him. Doesn't mean it would work as I don't actually see ghost monsters as actual ghosts, more so monsters who heavily resemble ghosts as otherwise would indicate that they'd once been alive & human.

I feel the same way about skeleton monsters because if they were true skeletons then they wouldn't immediately crumble to dust after being killed, they'd simply fall inert, the bones still there.

In this way, ghost monsters are innately different from actual ghosts. However, I do believe that ghost monsters are keyed into, let's say... the same wavelength as actual ghosts.

Either way, it depends on you whether Alphys would make a change & try to befriend the girl. If she does, it'd take a long time but it's possible. Like, no matter what, I see her remaining a coward & being unable to tell anyone else about it because, at first, she's convinced that they'd call her crazy.

Asgore, however, I see becoming both better & worse too. And much like Alphys, he worse due to the guilt. However, I also see him being better because he's got a better relationship with her from the get-go. Now, the ones that were actively killed were, in order, Patience, Justice, Integrity, Bravery, & Perseverence & all of them were at least 12-13 at the times of their deaths. And, like I said before, at the time period when Patience was alive, that was considered being an adult.

Likewise, before the monsters were sealed, they too would likely have believed the same. As such, depending on whether this changed over time like it did with humans, the monsters might not have even considered them kids.

The only one that could've conceivably been seen as one was Kindness & that wasn't intentional. So, it's likely that both Asgore & Patience simply viewed that as a terrible tragedy. That doesn't excuse the fact that Asgore did not change the law or that Patience didn't try as hard as she should've to convince him to repeal it, but it goes a long way to explaining why they were able to let it keep happening.

In this way, I can see Patience getting uncomfortable with the fact that someone she considered a child had died. Asgore as well.

Just thinking about how a situation like in this comic would come about and (talking about neutral ending angst)

Given the way people talk about their memories in canon I feel like there’d be a period of time where the gang comes to realize the significance of their feelings of deja vu and finds out they’re real memories and that would be a hell of a process I think

Like imagining Undyne waking up one morning and freaking out because it’s already 7am and her first class is at 7:30am and alphys is half-awake and is like “Huh what class?” “My gym class! Toriel’s gonna have my head!” “Undyne you work for Asgore???” And once Undyne’s convinced that she’s not actually a gym teacher, she’s like “agh sorry Alphys I guess I had a weird dream last night!!” and Alphys thinks back to her dream where toriel was the queen and Undyne was…. and mettaton…… she can’t remember? And it feels too specific to be a coincidence and Alphys knows the theory about multiple timelines so she has a crazy idea and calls up sans who just that morning went to feed his pet rock and was surprised to see that papyrus had already fed it and he’s got some thoughts about this. Meanwhile Undyne calls up asgore who is like “yeah I have vivid memories of killing the six humans who fell before Frisk and some of them don’t match up, and I have memories of killing Frisk, that’s normal.” and toriel is trying to work out why she can’t handle seeing frisk buttering their toast with a butter knife, and papyrus falls out of the habit of texting Undyne because he always subconsciously feels like he won’t get a response from her and

Eventually the truth comes out, Frisk confesses, and they’re forgiven of course because no one should EVER be in the situation they were in and the others are not exactly innocent from the sounds of it. And really, it’s not Frisk’s fault that they all betrayed each other when things got bad… and they all move forward. They all have dinner together that night and drink hot chocolate by the fire before going to sleep and they aren’t laughing or joking as much as usual but they tell embarrassing stories and long-winded jokes and just live in that moment which is so full of love despite everything

Not much evidence for this, but I think monsters age weird in Undertale, but like humans in Deltarune. 

In Undertale, the timeline is kinda all over the place. We know that swords and magic were used by humans in the war against monsters, we know that Chara fell in the year 201x, and we know that Frisk fell an indefinite period of time later, but we don’t know how long-- in fanworks, I’ve seen the time range wildly from ‘six souls were collected in the space of about ten years’ to ‘six souls were collected in the space of a few hundred years’. The amalgamates and Mettaton probably happened somewhat recently, but a lot of monsters, especially younger ones like Monster Kid, imply they’ve never met a human before in their lifetimes. 

But we do have three certain examples of really ancient monsters. We have Gerson. Gerson is an elderly turtle who states he’s ‘been around a long time’, and that ‘studying history is easy when you’ve lived through a lot of it yourself.’ He’s also quite knowledgeable about the Delta Rune, prophecy, and how boss monsters age, being the only one to explain these things in depth, though even he knows little about the Delta Rune in the end. It’s popular fanon that he earned his moniker, ‘Hammer of Justice’, in the War. It’s also known that in real life, turtles and tortoises are extremely long-lived animals. 

It’s also popular fanon that Toriel and Asgore were alive during the war, due to how the King of Monsters in the cutscene heavily resembles Asgore. We know from Gerson that Boss Monsters only age when their parents or child are still alive. Without parents, and with Asriel dead, both have been stuck in a sort of stasis for an indefinite period of time. 

But in Deltarune, Asriel never died. So it could simply be the case that boss monsters still age Weird. If not for two minor things-- 

One, Gerson is dead. Two, the Light World, despite being populated by monsters, is painted as extremely mundane to contrast with the fantastical nature of the Dark World. Lightners seem to lack magic, as Noelle mentions one of the positives of the Dark World being magic that easily heals injuries-- the implication probably being, there is no such simple cure that can easily save Rudy. Other smaller examples include how Toriel seems to use a stove to bake, while Undertale specifically noted she used fire magic and her stove was clean, as well as the debates over whether or not monster Lightners dust upon death, and whether or not they have blood. 

Since Asriel never died, and since no one’s specifically explained how all monsters age in Undertale AND Deltarune, only boss monsters, this is gonna be kinda hard to prove, like proving a negative. Maybe Gerson’s a boss monster who never had a kid in Undertale, but did have on in Deltarune. maybe there was a tragic accident in Deltarune that led to Gerson’s death, rather than it being of old age. Maybe he never really died, and instead disappeared into some Dark World. Some of these questions may be answered in later chapters, but there’s a good chance that monster ages will be left really ambiguous, I feel like. 

Edit: I forgot that Undyne claims UT Gerson actually did fight in the war. So if this is true, Gerson lived from when humans commonly used swords and magic, to an indefinite number of years after 201x. Not actually fanon. Whoops.

Alright, I’ve been playing video games instead of sleeping again, so here’s my Deltarune post-Chapter 2 speculation. Based on Chapters 1 and 2, here’s what I can guess about Chapter 3:

1. The next Dark World’s main antagonist is always foreshadowed in advance (Susie’s “quiet people piss me off” speech, Jevil’s “soon, the Queen returns”), so the main antagonist is probably Spamton’s “Mike,” a “criminal” who you can “see on TV.” This tracks with the end cutscene.

2. If we assume the King, Queen, and Knight are chess symbols, the next most powerful pieces below Queen are a tie between the Rook and the Bishop. The Bishop would probably be more connected to Hometown’s church, though. And a Rook is a castle tower, which ties in somewhat to this Dark World being the home of our fluffy goat royalty from Undertale, so Mike is quite possibly the Rook.

3. Each main antagonist is tied to the character arc a party member needs to take to grow (Susie’s bullying, Noel’s Angel awakening), so Mike’s TV Land and his personality in turn will probably reflect Toriel’s character arc. He might be a criminal, but he could also be sad and Asgore-like on top of that, or perfect and dazzling like Asriel, or a wild alcoholic partier like Toriel in her college days.

4. The previous Dark Worlds have both drawn a lot of inspiration from the Persona and Chrono Trigger series, with the latter having nods to its “middle ages” and “futuristic” time periods, so we can guess that Mike’s TV Land will have at least a small nod to the last time period in Chrono Trigger, “prehistoric,” while also having nods to Persona 4′s Midnight Channel. This ties in to Susie wanting to be a giant dinosaur monster while watching TV. Possibly a post-apocalyptic/backstage theme mixed with an overgrown/primal theme?

5. Each Dark World has a boss that’s motivated by feeling neglected by the Lightners, and has a fight that parallels one in Undertale (King Spade’s fight paralleling Asgore, Spamton paralleling Mettaton NEO). The TV at Toriel’s house IS dusty, but since it’s actively being watched and enjoyed, Mike is probably not feeling very neglected. However, each Dark World also has a secret boss. And that same room DOES have a trash can full of flowers that were lovingly picked out and then bluntly thrown away. And we already know of a boss in Undertale that has a lot of themes related to TV screens and flowers that have gone mad with power... 

TL;DR THEORY: Chapter 3 will be about Mike Rook the TV Tower helping Toriel address her divorce in a backstage Dark World that’s full of giant monster dinosaurs, with a secret boss that’s an overgrown and pissed-off flower.
