TDI Names changes and a quick explanation of why these names were changed :

So I made some small post about those name changes so Im just gonna make one big post.

I just like to share these differences because they're fun.

Audrey, is the french name they gave Courtney, it's quite similar because of the end syllable. I think they did a good job for this one because of this little similarity.

Berthe, is for Beth. Beth is a very weird sounding word if you don't speak a word of english so they changed it to a pretty rare name, but still a more understandable one for the kids who watched tdi. Bonus Point for also being similar to the original one.

Brigitte is Bridgette, that one is easy since Brigitte is literally the name Bridgette in french. Wooohoo !

DJ stays DJ. Yeah he's one of the few characters to keep his name.

Édith, is the name they gave Izzy. Édith as the same number of syllable and that's all. They just didn't think the og name would do.

Éva is Eva, yup they just added the accent, it's the same name. The pronounciation is just french, it makes sense.

Ézékiel. Yup accents once again. The french "e" doesn't have the same pronounciation as the english one and the accent actually influence it's pronounciation.

Gontran. Is a very uncommon name. But that's what they called Owen. No effort on that one. But Owen would have sounded weird in a french dubbed cartoon I guess.

Harold stays Harold. Guess we can had "keeping his name" on his list of mads skills. Also his french voice is atrocious.

Hugo. Guess who it is ? Well it's Duncan. Duncan is absolutely not a common name in french, neither can it be pronounced in a credible way, so I guess they just took a random boy name. It was a bit of a popular name at the time.

JF -> Geoff. JF sounds like a contracted version of Jeff. Nothing more to say about it. I guess they could have kept his normal name.

They named Gwen Joëlle, it's a pretty name sure. But Gwenaëlle, Gwendolyn or just Gwen are actually pretty common in France, especially in Brittany. So it's just weird they changed it.

JORDY is what they called Cody. It doesn't sound anymore french, I don't think it's an actual name. I don't know.

Justin is just pronounced in french.

Katrine is the name they gave Katie, it makes sense since Katie is litteraly a diminutive of Katrine.

Leshawna stays Leshawna, good for her.

They didn’t keep Gwen name but they sure did give a popular breton name to Trent. They named him Loïc. And it's actually a name of germanic origin. The bretons just like it.

They gave Noah the name of Lucas. Noah is a name that is used in France. I don't get why they changed it but I guess Lucas was more common at the time.

Marilou as I said in a previous post is the name they gave Heather. Heather doesn't have a non-ridiculous sounding french pronounciation so boom new name !

Sadie ? Naaaah in french they got Sandrine. At least it's a bit similar. Bt that's all.

Tyler is Simon. That is because Tyler doesn't do well in fthe french language.

And finally they named Lindsay Tania. I guess it fitted here vibe but it sure as hell isn't a very common name in french.

And Chris becomes Louis Mercier because Chris is actually a diminutive of Christophe or Christian but I guess they didn't like that name.

Chef stays Chef.

Also the team names are :

Les Rongeurs Malins (The Ingenious Rodents)

And

Les Carpes de l'Enfer (The Carps from Hell)

🗯 Argumento: Nuevo cuento de las "cuatro estaciones" de Rohmer. El joven Gaspard llega de vacaciones al balneario francés de Dinard, con la idea de encontrarse con Lena, la muchacha que lo tiene loco. En aquellos días soleados y calmos conoce a otra chica, una morena atractiva y sensual que le sugiere nuevos rumbos a su corazón. Sin embargo, tal vez la respuesta no esté en ella, sino en Margot, la dulce camarera con la que Gaspard hace amistad sin darse cuenta.
