One of the most important monuments in Palestine: The Israeli occupation bombed the Great Omari Mosque During its ongoing aggression against Gaza Strip!
The IOF bombed the Great Omari Mosque in Gaza City, the oldest and largest mosque in the Gaza Strip. It is one of nearly 200 mosques destroyed by the IOF since October 7th.
First built as a church in the 5th century, the mosque has undergone centuries of repeated renovations: destroyed by earthquakes in 1033 and 1260, by the Mongols in 1260, the British in 1925, and the IOF in 2023.
April 1, 2024. Samidoun Network - "Reports that Palestinian political leader, writer, intellectual and freedom fighter Walid Daqqah has been martyred as a prisoner of the Zionist regime. He has been subjected to deliberate medical neglect for years, denied release even as he was terminally ill...
He was prevented from accessing livesaving care and subjected to a slow assassination. Walid Daqqah's writing, thought and contributions to the struggle are immortal.
Our deepest condolences to his wife, Sana Salameh, who struggled tirelessly for his liberation and that of Palestine, and their daughter Milad, born of smuggled sperm as a child of freedom, and the entire Palestinian people. Glory to the martyr!"
ONE HOUR AGO: our comrades at ucla's gaza solidarity encampment have started the refaat alareer memorial library, full of revolutionary literature. i cried seeing this, such a beautiful way to honor his legacy.

Sat down tonight to start reading the first Wings of Fire book that my nieces lent me and very nearly made it through the entire thing in one sitting. (I'm only stopping because it's almost sunrise and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open lol)
... Honestly, this feels almost like experiencing Guardians of Ga'Hoole for the first time all over again
LAST NIGHT: our comrades at columbia took hamilton hall, which they are now calling hind's hall in honor of the six year old girl hind rajab who was martyred in gaza back in january after calling for paramedics to come and save her from her family's car that had been attacked by the iof. hamilton/hind's hall was also occupied in columbia's 1968 simultaneous anti war and anti gentrification protests, this reoccupation of the same place all these years later is so powerful.
edit: hamilton hall was also occupied in 1985 during protests against apartheid south africa, it was renamed mandela hall at the time.
And maybe I don't know them personally, but I want to know them. I know they should be alive. I should know them. We should all know them. The empire will never escape our wrath.
