Daily update post:
Another one that I start with news of a terrorist attack. -_- This morning, a terrorist started shooting at several vehicles driving down the Jordan Valley, one of which was a school bus. The driver of this bus confirmed that the terrorist was wearing what looked like an IDF uniform. According to Magen David Adom (Red Star of David) there are at least 3 people injured, one is a 13 years old kid, another is in serious condition. The terrorist has not yet been neutralized.
Tumblr media
After Amit Soussana's testimony about being raped by Hamas, we also have a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist admitting during an interrogation that he had raped a woman in her home in an Israeli kibbutz. It's not the first such testimony, but these are important enough that when they're published, they ALL must be heard.
The prosecution against the terrorists responsible for the massacre of October 7 has been expanded to include clauses which could end with the death penalty (I found a link to a journalistic source online, then I accidentally closed that tab, and can't find it again, but it's been reported on TV. The following tweet recounts the indictments, though the headline is misleading. A death sentence has not been approved, it's just now approved that it's a possible outcome of the trials, once they take place).
Tumblr media
For those unfamiliar with the Eurovision Song Contest, it's an event that has been run since 1956, with the intent to help heal a post-war Europe, by allowing countries to have a friendly competition (instead of a bloody conflict), and also have a chance to get to know each other better through music. It's meant to be a unifying, and therefore also a-political fun music fest. This contest has since been expanded to include all countries that are members of the European Broadcasting Union, which means Israel also gets to compete since 1973, and has even won 4 times. I wrote this post about our entry this year, if anyone's curious. In recent years, the ESC has been used for annual anti-Israel propaganda, way before the war in Gaza. This year, a senior official in Israel's National Security Office had to issue a warning for any Israelis going to the competition in Sweden, to be careful and hide their identity as much as possible. I am passing along the warning, because wherever Israelis are in danger, so are Jews in general.
Tumblr media
After Canada, Sweden, Australia and Finland, now France is also declaring that it will fund UNRWA again, proving that no amount of complicity in anti-Jewish terrorism will stop some European countries from passing along money to those who have raped, maimed, tortured and murdered us. But no worries! France promises it will ensure that their money won't go to terrorism. I will just remind everyone that France brokered a "deal" to pass along medications to Israeli hostages with chronic illnesses in Gaza, in exchange for an additional 1,000 packages of meds for Gazans. It then said they got reassurance that the meds got to those hostages (meaning, France quoted Qatar, which quoted Hamas, so this is the international diplomacy version of, "Trust me, bro. I'm a highly reliable antisemitic terrorist"). When Israeli soldiers got to a hospital in Gaza, they found some of the med packages for the Israeli hostages in its pharmacy, unopened and clearly not delivered to the rightful address. So... IDK about you, but I'm pretty sure even the French know their assurances about the UNRWA funding are just empty words.
Tumblr media
This is 40 years old Mohammad Alatrash.
Tumblr media
He's an Israeli Bedouin Muslim Arab, and father of 13, including a one month old baby. He was kidnapped on Oct 7, and has been held captive in Gaza since. Mohammad's uncle said the whole family's life has not been normal since he was taken hostage. Despite that, today several families of hostages had a tour of the attacked communities in the south, with Israel's and Belgium's Foreign Ministers, his brother Salem said that they're okay with Mohammad being released later, as long as Hamas frees the female hostages. "It's hell what they're made to go through there." Just a reminder that Mohammad is one of the Israeli Muslim hostages that Hamas could have and chose not to release even during the month holy to all muslims, Ramadan.

Welcome to the Eurovision Song Bracket!
This will be a fairly large bracket, consisting of two "teams" of 68 songs for a total of 136 competitors!
The first team has been preselected, and will consist of all previous winners or popular vote winners if applicable.
This means that if your favorite song won, you do not need to submit them (a couple of exceptions apply, see list at the bottom/read more for details)
Submissions are closed!
Rules!
- Entries must have been a part of the main competition of Eurovision of any year (I might do a MGP mini bracket if the people want that)
- Once again, you do not need to submit winners, they are (mostly) automatically in. Again, see bottom for details and explanations.
- You may submit multiple songs, but please don't send the same song over and over.
- Propaganda is highly encouraged! There is a spot for it in the submission form, and adding it on to the poll itself or sending an ask is also allowed. You may send a DM, but I'll probably be slow to respond that way.
How it Works!
- There will be multiple brackets of 34 songs
- Each of the preselected winners will be randomly against one of the submitted songs. Pairings will be decided through number assignment and a random number generator.
- Vote for your favorite! I will include links to the songs in the poll so you can listen to both before voting. The winner will move onto the next round until we find the winner of that bracket.
- Once all brackets are complete, the winners of their individual brackets will go onto the finals to determine the (unofficial) Ultimate Eurovision Song Winner!
- There will be a preliminary around, as 1969 (hehe nice) had a four way tie, so we will need to determine which of those four will represent that year!
Tagging some other brackets to get the word out
@animalcrossingshowdown @ultimate-soup-showdown @least-sexy-man-competition @soulmatebracket @irlcats-bracket @little-cat-showdown @bestvegetablepoll @baby-brawl-bracket @died-but-not-dead-tournament @unusannusbracket
Click the read more for the list of songs that are automatically in the bracket!
(The colors are just to make it less of a wall of text and easier to read)
(Please let me know if a different color would work better)

Constantly thinking about how there's a great chance that Eurovision exists in the Spy X Family universe. So much is based on actual reality, and they're keeping the whole cold war thing which means there was probably a WW2 which means that there was probably someone who decided the best way to re-unite a post war continent was through the power of song!
And of course Eurovision began in 1956 so it fits perfectly within the Spy X Family time line and what I'm saying is "Loid has to take part in the song contest in some format and Anya tried to rig the tele-vote somehow in his favour whilst Yor has to try and assassinate someone back stage" would be an EXCELLENT plot line!

Eurovision Fact #495:
Tumblr media
The United Kingdom did not intend to participate in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest. Instead, they opted to take part in their own song contest called the Festival Of British Popular Songs.
In the following year in 1957, however, elements of the British song contest were incorporated into the Eurovision Song Contest.

Since 1956, performers from across Europe, Israel and Australia - who are performing their respective songs on the Eurovision stage....
However, there are those Eurovision men (most especially) who make ESC fans swoon and win the hearts out even because of their handsome or charming faces.
So without any further ado, here comes the 2nd batch on my list of the MOST HANDSOME MALE EUROVISION ACTS (just based on my choice or opinion & criteria which are: physical appearance, personality or attitude and presentation on the live stage. Then, its in no particular order)…
Again, you may agree or disagree with my list because I'm sure you have different taste tho. You can also put down your own list of them in the comment section below this post and of course, I totally respect it.
BATCH 3, COMING UP SOON….😁

My Eurovision opinions have crashed into each other so much.
It's like "As a swede I should be happy, but this felt so undeserved, especially with how much people rather wanted Käärijä" and "But hey we made history, first woman to win twice", while also "well, it could have been worse, imagine if Israel had won".
It's "Loreen could have said no to do this because she knows her status" while also "We should not blame Loreen, I don't even think she'd imagine she would win again, she's just here to perform and sing and has nothing but zen energy about everything ever" and "I didn't think she would win again, plenty of countries have sent previous esc winners again and it's not worked except for one time in the 80s, so I thought we were just overhyping it"
And right now I feel like. Well. Eurovision has been going on since 1956 and it's not the first or the last time the wrong song won, or the public thought different than the jury, or there's been some controversies. Something like this will happen again. And it's bitter now, but in a few years there's gonna be something new to discuss. And Finland, you're gonna get your revenge, I know you will. Trust me when I say we rooted for you more than our own country tbh. Don't listen to the swedish media, because they absolutely do not share the general public's views and tbh the "eurovision experts" we have are all like middle aged men who hates everything that's popular (even in our national competition they dislike every song that is a little out of the ordinary)
Also, another thing, of all the Sweden wins, I def thought we didn't deserve this, but the one I think we deserved the least was the one in 1999. Iceland could have gotten their first win if we didn't take it, and that song is the least memorable out of all of our wins. It's not bad but I really don't think it's winning material. Oh well, it was 1999... other types of songs were the jam back then.
