How to choose the right US universities to apply to as an Indian student
Tumblr media
With over 4,000 accredited universities and colleges in the USA, choosing where to apply can be overwhelming for Indian students. You need to thoroughly research each university's rankings, programs, location, costs, scholarship options, and support services for international students. #universitysearch
Aim for a balanced college list of ambitious, match, and safety schools based on your profile and budget. Check out university rankings on sites like US News to shortlist the top schools for your major. However, don't rely entirely on rankings - also talk to alumni and current students to understand the on-campus experience. #balancedcollegelist
While big names like Stanford and MIT are great if you get in, also consider public state universities which offer quality education for much lower tuition fees for internationals. Often universities with over 12% international students can have good support services too. #publicuniversities
Pay close attention to application requirements, deadlines, visa policies, as well as post-study work opportunities specific to each university while making your final list. Having contingency options in the same state often allows you to access in-state tuitions if you don't get into your first choice school later.
