86 Eighty-Six unveiled the cover for volume 12 of the Light Novel, drawn by illustrator Shirabi. The volume is set to release on February 10,2023. Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko is publishing the series.

The Republic of San Magnolia has been at war with the Empire of Giad for nine years now. Though it initially suffered devastating losses to the Empire's autonomous mechanized Legions, The Republic has since developed its own autonomous units, called Juggernauts, which are directed remotely by a Handler. Hence there is no more loss of human life – at least officially, anyway. In actuality, the Juggernauts are piloted by 86s, the designation given to minorities whohave been systematically dehumanized and forced to live in internment camps in the unofficial 86thWard. Only military service gives them any hope of bettering their lot.

Lena is a purebred Alba (the dominant race of the Republic) who at the mere age of 16, has earned the rank of Major in the Republic's military. She is assigned to be the Handler of the Spearhead squadron of the eastern front, an elite unit composed entirely of 86s veteran enough to have earned names. (86s are not otherwise allowed names officially.) It's also a unit known for scaring off previous handlers and even driving some to suicide. As she interacts with the squad and its leader, nicknamed Undertaker, she starts to learn the truth about the harrowing extent of the Republic's actual predicament, the horrifying extremes to which the Republic has violated the principles on which it was founded, and the dire reasons why the Republic can't afford not to take its persecution of the 86s to the logical endpoint.

Shinei sighed the hundredth time that day and it was already evening! “What’s on your mind Shin?” Raiden finally asked a tad annoyed. The male looked up at him “Nothing, just thinking.” He huffed from the couch.

He was laying there, their cat resting on him while he was staring at his book. Raiden was right next to him on the ground, having been leaning on it.

“It’s not nothing if you sigh every two minutes!” Raiden growled and turned around to face their leader. “I’m not sighing every two minutes!” “You totally are!” Shin sighed making Raiden smile slyly. “not sighing are you?” He asked smugly earning a pissed off glare from the other.

“No.”

Raiden hummed and squeezed their leaders waist- earning shockingly enough- a uncharacteristic high pitched shriek, making their kitten jump off.

The whole teams attention was now on them.

“Would you quit that?!” Shinei asked and was about to sit up only to get held down by Raiden who started to move on top of him. “No can do” he grinned “Undertaker.” Another shriek ripped from the young leader yet this time soft giggles followed “EhehEHEhey quhuhuihit it!”

Raiden grinned “not until you stop sighing like an old man!” He declared “AhaHahaha- I waHAhas Nohohot!” Shin cried through his hysterical giggles as he tried to catch the offending hands- without luck as Raiden decided to poke him randomly and sneak a few squeezes in as well— even his thighs and knees weren’t safe!

Shin was trashing underneath Raiden who was grinning down at him with playful eyes. The leader kicked out every now and then- why tickling out of all the things he could’ve chosen?! “AhAHAHAhahaha~ quhuhihit ihihihit— RAIDEHEN!” He repeated earning a chuckle from the man above “quit what, Shin?” He asked and moved to his stomach.

Undertaker jumped and almost bucked his friend off “NOHO! RAHAHAIDEN” “you didn’t answer my question!” Raiden grinned- both not noticing that Handler one just connected to them the second Raiden asked that.

“TIHIHICKLING MEHE!” Raiden grinned “you want me to tickle you? Sure thing~!” He sang and switched to his sides “NoHOT whaHAHahat IHIHi mEHEHEAnt!”

Reina kept quiet. She couldn’t see the situation but the laughter from Undertaker was making her freeze and listen to it. The boyish laughter which went up and down the whole time. She found it adorable.

“You two-“ Theo tried to get their attention- after all the handler joined in now, she was not supposed to be part of their banter!

Shin suddenly threw Raiden off- the taller landed on the table with a groan and Shin’s after giggles still poured out of him “youhu’re an ahass..” he murmured earning a chuckle from the other “then stop sighing!”

“BOYS!” Anju yelled, finally earning their attention. She pointed on their communication systems making their eyes widen. “Handler one?” Raiden asked

“Uh-huh?” The answer seemed shaky and flustered. Showing the two how long the girl had been there. Shin flushed bright red and Raiden chuckled at him.

“I- I just wanted to go though the plan one last time” Reina huffed and Shin growled at Raiden. “Sure..” he whispered and went off, disconnecting the team for awhile.

#I8: Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero (Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru)

I adored this show from the moment I watched it because throughout it all, it’s hopeful. These girls go through a lot. A LOT. A lot of horrible, horrible things, and yet they bounce back. These girls bounce back pretty much every single time and do anything to help their friends do the same. To me, that is insanely inspiring.

The cast of characters here are also insanely compelling. They feel like actual, real friends—doing things together, hanging out, comforting each other and laughing with them all the same. This point I feel helps that sense of hope this show has absolutely.

The character designs in general too are absolutely breathtaking, and are nothing like I’ve ever seen from any other magical girl anime. Also, one last thing: this show’s soundtrack is done by MONACA. MONACA is also known for doing the first two NieR games. Take that what you will :)

The characterization and character development in this show is amazing. It also has a very good depiction of survivor’s guilt/mental health, which you don’t see a lot. The animation is great and the soundtrack is done by Hiroyuki Sawano, who’s amazing and it’s one of the best soundtracks for a show ever.

A main subject of the show is racism. Active war, lots of violence. Character acts without regard for their life, so suicide was included. Child abuse relates to the backstory of a character.

-His homeland

-The blood in his veins

-The bonds he forms

-Lena can never have any pride in her despicable homeland

-Her alba blood is basically a source of shame since it's resented by the eighty six who suffered thanks to not having it & despised by the Federacy who learned of their atrocities.

-The only thing she has of the "three things that make a man" is the bonds she forms first with the spearhead squadron and then the brisingaman squadron and maybe others and even that was achieved through painstaking effort since she's always on the other side of the gran mur which forms a "wall" between her connection with the processors she grows close to and it was basically the only thing keeping Theo & Co from COMPLETELY thinking of her as a true comrade by the end of vol1/cour1(but that's resolved at the end of vol3/cour2 ofc).

(There's also how she's a pure blood celena which is the esper class of the Alba, but I try not to think about that too deeply if Asato decides to do nothing with it....I really wanna know what "intimidation" is tho....)

Was going nowhere with this. Just thoughts. Too little Lena I gotta fill the void with SOMETHING, y'know.

TickleTober 2022/Day 2 - Drawn On

Eighty-Six - Theo x Shinen

Despite taking Theo a stupidly huge amount of effort, he managed to convice Shinen. All the other remaining members of the Spearhead Squadron agreed in letting the blonde practice some bodypainting technique he found while looking for art books, all but one. However, things were just about to change.

Shinen sighed, not exactly distressed, but also not the most excited person with the idea. He knew he should play along and it wouldn’t be bad to do something different, but as Raiden said on other occasions, Shin could be “a little grumpy” sometimes. 

Taking his jacket off, Shinen sat down, with his back turned to Theo, who was already waiting for the brunette. After all, he wouldn’t leave Shinen waiting for a single second because he couldn’t risk letting the boy change his mind.

Just like the rest of the squadron, they both agreed on painting the old Undertaker’s personal mark and, maybe under a symbolic reason, Shin chose his neck to be Theo’s canvas.

“I’m going to start now, ok?” Theo said, pulling the other shirt’s collar down a little to have a little more skin exposed.

“Alright, go on.” He answered, keeping his gaze distant as he let the other do as he pleased.

Theo couldn’t hold back the excited smile on his face. Nodding, he picked up the pencil, making sure it wasn’t too sharp, and decided to first trace some rough drafts and, later on, start making the outline of the mark. 

But things weren't really working as he planned. At the very first line, Shinen fliched, slightly scrunching up his shoulder.

“Sorry, did it hurt?” Theo asked with a pinch of worry.

“Not really.”

“I’ll keep going then, alright?”

“Mhm,” Shin hummed and the blonde couldn’t help to hear as he sighed again, as if trying to relax himself.

Placing his hand on the back of his colleague’s head to stretch, Theo decided to be a little more gentle while tracing over his neck. Maybe his skin was more sensitive around his scar, so he should be careful as he drew on him.

But Theo had barely managed to finish a circle before Shin started trembling. There definitely was something off about it.

“Shin?”

“Y-yes?” He huffed, coughing as he tried to ‘fix’ his voice tone, “is something wrong, Theo?”

“I need to hold still, I can’t finish the draft like this.”

“Sorry, it tickled,” he tried to admit as naturally as possible, maybe trying to not spark the other’s curiosity, but it was unavoidable.

“It what?” Theo gasped, even stopping for a moment.

“I’m not repeating myself,” Shin snapped back, letting out an embarrassed huff.

“Right… Just try to bear with me a little longer, okay? I won’t tell anyone,” Theo giggled quietly before resuming the drawing. 

Shinen closed his eyes shut as he tried to focus on something else, controlling his breath and letting his body as loose as possible. But as soon as Theo resumed, the feeling seemed much other than before.

“P-pfft- Theheheo- mhmph- it tihihickles…” The undertaker giggled, making the blonde slightly blush behind his back.

“”I know, but you are doing well…” Theo replied, trying to hold the other in place as he continued to brush the pencil over his friend’s neck, “I will be done in no time, trust me ~”

Just as predicted, the lines ended up as messed up as they could. Not a single straight line in sight and all the round ends were roughly sharped. Shinen struggled to not giggle during the whole process and they had to stop constantly to let the boy calm down before the blonde would resume drawing on his neck.

Despite the many obstacles in his way, Theo managed to make a nice (and rough) looking mark on the brunette’s neck. 

“Alright, we are done with the draft,” the boy cheered, placing the pencil down.

“Ah, so we are over?” 

“Ahm, not really. That was only the draft. I need to draw the final outline and paint it…” He explained and Shin could feel the pleading-puppy-eyes staring at his neck.

“Alright,” he sighed, biting his lip as he mentally prepared himself, “go on.” 

“Heh, as you say ~” Theo said, not really putting effort in making his tools feel less ticklish on his Shinen’s skin. After all, if he ever asked the blonde about it, he could easily claim it was all about making the artistic process more… enjoyable, for both of them.

Pulled an all nighter but I finished volume 1 of EIGHTY-SIX after watching the anime adaptation to completion about a month or two ago.

I really can't comment on which is better - the anime directly adapted a lot of scenes, nearly word for word. What the anime did do, however; is give more time to breathe in both Annette's lab, Lena's room, and- of course- the Spearhead Squadron base. And I guess animate combat scenes. The tone fluctuates more in the anime, going from nigh slice of life antics/pace and pulse pounding action to make the tragedy and words laced with venom hit that much harder. But the novel feels more direct, more focused. A character death in the anime can feel drawn out to twist the knife, that same death in the novel coming in one line and only alluding to the character in question for perceptive readers before stating it is powerful in a different way.

Maybe it's simply to account for the differences in medium - because both were well worth the time, even knowing what would happen the second time around.

Though, I will say, some details are missing from both - or the anime may flesh something out in direct contrast to the terse description of the novel. The anime really seems to coddle the Republic comparatively, but also bluntly hits them with "Sinners who do not recognize their sin" - if I recall correctly. Though, this may be taken from a later volume. Meanwhile, the novel does a far better job of fleshing out the experiences that shape the core cast.

I found a typo where twin 12.7mm machine guns were replaced with 57mm cannons, leading to a very lopsided mental image.

The afterword hit me with echos of Full Metal Alchemist's 'Tiny Miniskirts' despite myself never having watched the show.

Very good. Highly recommend sacrificing sleep over it.

This is one of my favourite scenes from Eighty-Six, and it's from the third episode. One of the members of "Spearhead Squadron", one of the last lines of defense and most important units to the war effort is killed due to inaccurate maps and faulty data.

Context & thoughts below:

The protagonist, Lena, is one of the only citizens of her country that knows that the Eighty-Six are actually humans. The entire military are under the prevailing, eugenecist belief that they are unevolved humans more closely related to pigs, as such they are called "pigs" or "drones", and their deaths are not recognised as human casualties despite the deaths of millions during the war against the "Legion", an autonomous horde of robots/mechas. And the people they're conscripting to fight? Kids as young as 11. The majority of which don't survive their "term" (which is like five years).

Despite an idealistic belief that she can help the 86, by being a good commander/support to them, in the end, she is called out on the fact that she acts as part of a cog in the machine she supposedly detests, thinking that mere kindness and civility can distract from the fact that the 86 are actually enslaved, and subject to systemic racism (though eugenecist propaganda) which is resulting in long-term genocide.

This scene is unbearable, it's painful and awkward, it makes the idealism of one of our protagonists look pathetic - like a series of platitudes and a childish dream. She self-flagellates where all of them can hear her guilt, but they see it as disingenuous. No matter her empathy for their plight, in the end she's still a mechanism that sends them out to die. To fight for things that don't matter to them, for no reason other than that they have no other choice. The republic don't see the 86 as humans - and it doesn't seem like they ever will.

The point isn't to say that war is inevitable, or that they deserve to be treated the way that they are, but that her view of liberation and reaching equality are still formed from the comfort from her home inside the walls. Away from the battlefield, and away from the reality that her military sends millions of people out to die on purpose for no reason - all the while the military are actually getting wasted and having fun not caring about the war outside of the walls. When she goes to sleep tonight, he is right, she can just forget about it, and she doesn't have to look at the product of the war in the face. The produce of her country's sins. So it's mad easy to berate yourself, but at the end of the day you don't understand even a fraction of the weight of the pain you've inflicted on these people who used to be fully recognised citizens, that became slaves to a war they don't want any part in over night. They're treated as fodder, not as people.

Her kindness, is taken as her spitting in their faces, because when she stops issuing commands, they're still at risk of invasion. They're still at risk of death. They're still dying for a country that doesn't even recognise their humanity.

"Do you think we're out here fighting because we want to? You locked us out! Forced us to fight. You've caused the deaths of millions over the last nine years."

It's an uncomfortable confrontation that happens only three episodes into the plot because much like Ahsoka losing all of her squadron in Storm over Ryloth, Lena had to reckon with her ideals and how underdeveloped and childish they really are. You can pat yourself on the back and say you're a good and intelligent person, but don't say you want to fight for equality and spit platitudes especially to the people you're trying to help, but she is all talk at this point. An idealistic general, who is talking about how corrupt her government is, but she is as of yet, just a cog in the machine, just one that is nicer than the others who don't see the 86 as human.

If civility was enough to give them equity and freedom, then they wouldn't be so upset. They hear her as some privileged kid saying "man, injustice is so bad" and imagine her just going back to her regular life posting on IG & not giving a shit after it's no longer relevant to her. Her feelings about wanting them to be free are genuine, but the way she carries herself is self-indulgent and righteous without the development of a clear vision of how to free them from their enslavement by her government. And trust me, the journey you will go on from here is 100% worth it.

The answers they have to all the questions regarding warfare are eloquent, well thought out and they don't fall into the trappings of horrific war writing that is hardcore fascist (cough AoT). The militaries are never portrayed as fundamentally good or necessary to explain why the slavery, eugenics, racism and all the other horrible shit is necessary. No, it's more relevant to focus on the trauma and development of the soldiers, while spinning up a larger narrative surrounding the war. I'd get into it more, but please, just check it out for yourself. I recommend just watching it on CR with any adblocker and you'll never have any interruptions.

This anime has an amazing delivery that critiques so many bad writing choices around war in fiction, and especially really bad shounen manga to be honest. It doesn't justify the war that they are in, and completely critiques so many things. I would go so far as to say that the conclusion reached by the end of the series is a better answer that Eren came up with in Attack on Titan (lol).

The story isn't about righteous sanctimony about what you should think and feel, it's about the journey of the spearhead squadron and how they come to make sense of their lives in a deeply corrupt and uncaring world that has treated them like complete garbage. Moments like these aren't to lecture you about what you should think or feel, they're to develop the characters into more mature and empathetic people who can imagine creating a world where the corruption and injustice can end. They clearly have their own ideas about war, but Asato Asato actually sat down and thought about it for more than 2 minutes unlike most war stories.

Seriously, the more I rewatch and think about this anime, the more I know it is a strong 10/10 by the time you watch all 23 Episodes.

Η Ακαμέ είναι επίσης πολύ Ισχυρή,είναι συγκρίσιμη με στρατηγούς στην Αυτοκρατορία. Είναι μια από τις πιο δυνατές της ομάδας Night Raid,κυρίως λόγω της εκπαίδευσής της από  παιδί. Επίσης ικανή στην μάχη σώμα με σώμα,όπως δε απίστευτα γρήγορη να αποφύγει πολλές θανατηφόρες επιθέσεις.Κατέχει το δεινό katana One-Cut Killer: Murasame γνωστός για την επικάλυψη με ένα εξαιρετικά θανατηφόρο δηλητήριο που θα μπορούσε να σκοτώσει όσους κόπηκαν από αυτό μέσα σε δευτερόλεπτα, καθώς το ίδιο το δηλητήριο δεν είχε αντίδοτο.

15.Shiki Ryugi -The Garden of Sinners(Kara no Kyoukai)

Είναι ένα κορίτσι καταγόμενο από μια οικογένεια που επι αιώνες εξολοθρεύουν Κακοποιούς Δαίμονες. οταν παθαίνει ατύχημα τίθεται σε κόμα επί δύο χρόνια,μα όταν ξύπνησε ενεργοποιείται το Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, μια υπερφυσική ικανότητα που επιτρέπει στον χρήστη να δει την εγγενή θνησιμότητα των πάντων(τόσο ζωντανών όσο και μη) με τη μορφή γραμμών. Ταυτόχρονα εμπεριέχει 3 προσωπικότητες. Στην περίπτωσή της, όμως, αυτό που βλέπει είναι η Καταγωγή αυτού που παρατηρεί. Βοηθά την υπηρεσία Garan no Do(που διευθύνεται από τον φίλο της Mikiya Kokutou και τον μάγο Touko Aozaki)στον χειρισμό παραφυσικών υποθέσεων όταν απαιτείται μάχη.Εχει αποδείξει επίσης ότι είναι Απτόητη,Υπερεπαρκής μαχήτρια,με απίστευτη ευλυγισία και ταχύτητα εκτελώντας παρκούρ από πύργο σε πύργο. Αρχων είτε της ένοπλης μάχης είτε άοπλης!

14.Vladilena Milize-Eighty Six

Η Vladilena είναι ένα υπέροχο κορίτσι, με ισχυρή διοικητική ικανότητα. Είναι ταπεινή και πάντα φιλική προς τους στρατιώτες της. Έχει μια μοναδική τεχνική ικανότητα να αντιμετωπίζει τις λεγεώνες. Πάντα έπαιρνε πιο σοβαρά τον ρόλο της χειριστριας . Είναι επίσης μια από τις λίγες που σηκώνονται και αγωνίζονται, τροφοδοτούμενη από τα ιδανικά της. Και βρήκε την ευκαιρία,τιμήθηκε να συνεργαστεί με τον Undertaker και την υπόλοιπη Spearhead Squadron,την ελίτ των μαχητών  εκ των 86. Η Λένα φτασς ένα τους εξοικειώσει και να τους συμπεριφερθεί με όσο το δυνατόν σεβασμό, μαθαίνοντας τα ονόματά τους, ακούγοντας τις ιστορίες τους και επικοινωνώντας μαζί τους. Έμαθε ακόμη και από το λάθος ότι αγνοούσε να ρωτούσε τα αληθινά τους ονόματα,έτσι μάζεψε την ισχύν να τους το ζητήσει. Είναι αδάμαστη, αδιάβροχη. Όταν κάποιος της λέει ότι πρέπει να αποσυρθεί, παλεύει πιο σκληρά. Όταν κάποιος της λέει να κάνει συμβιβασμούς, παλεύει πιο σκληρά. Είναι η πραγματική ενσάρκωση όλων των ιδανικών της San magnolia:Ελευθερία,Ισότητα,Αδελφότητα,Δικαιοσύνη και Ευγένεια.

 13.Erza Scarlet-fairy Tail

Η Erza Scarlet είχε μια σκληρή παιδική ηλικία, αλλά μόλις έγινε δεκτή στη συντεχνία Fairy Tail, η πραγματική της ισχύς και τα ταλέντα της άνθισαν,τώρα είναι μια πραγματική δύναμη στη μάχη. Καυχιέται για απίστευτη δύναμη,αντοχή, τόσο σε σπαθιά όσο και σε στολές πανοπλίας, για να μην αναφέρουμε με αδάμαστη θέληση και απόλυτη πίστη σε όλους τους φίλους της. Αυτά δεν είναι τα μόνα πράγματα που την κάνουν εξαιρετική. Είναι θηλυκή, ντύνεται με πολύ θηλυκά ρούχα και της αρέσει να δείχνει χαριτωμένη. Ενδιαφέρεται επίσης πολύ για τα γλυκά και της αρέσει να τρώει κέικ φράουλας, της αρέσει να πίνει ποτό. Και η βαλίτσα της είναι γεμάτη φαγητά και υλικά μαγειρικής. Επιπλέον, ένα ζωτικό πρόσωπο είναι ο αγαπημένος της Jellal Fernandes. Ένα αγόρι(από τις ίδιες φυλακές με τους Erja και Natsu),που απαλλάχθηκε από την πλύση εγκεφάλου,έλαβε τη συμβουλή της Erza να συνεχίσει να ζει ότι μέσα από τη ζωή, μπορεί να βρει έναν τρόπο να επανορθώσει για τις προηγούμενες φρικτές πράξεις του (συζήτηση για μια σοφή συμβουλή από την μαχήτρια Erza).

12.Kikyo Inuyasha

Η Kikyo είναι δυστυχώς η πιο παρεξηγημένη χαρακτήρας σε manga/anime ,που είναι μισητή στα μάτια δυτικών θεατών.

Ηταν μια πανίσχυρη Ιαπωνέζα  ιέρεια,άριστη τοξοβόλος και φύλακας του Κοσμήματος Shikon.Εξολόθρευε κάθε yokai που επιχειρούσε να το κλέψει. Ομως έτσι βρέθηκε πια με τέτοιο αβασταχτο καθήκον να είναι συνεχώς σε επαγρύπνηση,να μην βρεί ποτέ την Αγάπη.Ερωτεύτηκε τον hanyo Inuyasha,του μίλησε ζεστά και του πρότεινε με την χρήση επιθυμίας του Shikon να εξανθρωπιστεί.Οπότε οι δύο θα μπορούσαν να ζήσουν μαζί,να γίνουν οικογένεια. Συμφώνησαν στο σχέδιο. Ομως στην ημέρα της συνάντησης  τραυματίστηκε θανάσιμα,εξαπατήθηκε από τον Naraku, η Kikyō τoν  Inuyasha στο Ιερό Δέντρο με ένα βέλος σφράγισης και θυσίασε τη ζωή της για να εμποδίσει το κόσμημα να γίνει εργαλείο σε χέρια  κακών.

Λίγο αφότου το κόσμημα επέστρεψε στη φεουδαρχική εποχή,η Kikyō αναστήθηκε από την Ogress Urasue. Αφού έμαθε ότι ο Naraku( ο πρώην Onigumo)είναι ο ένοχος και του θανάτου της, αποφάσισε να τον καταστρέψει και να καθαρίσει το Κόσμημα Shikon.

 Στην πορεία έλαμψε ο γνωστός της χαρακτήρας:Λεπτή,κομψή και συμπονετική.Γι’αυτό παρείχε Θεραπεία στον Saint Hakushin,στον Kohaku επίσης.Επίσης θεράπευσε τον Miroku από το θανάσιμο μίασμα του Naraku,επίσης έσωσε την Rin από τα νύχια του αιμοβόρου Suikotsu. Έδωσε επίσης στην Kagome το τέλειο βέλος(από τις στάχτες του σπηλαίου του Onigumo)για να σκοτώσει τον Naraku(στην κατάλληλη ώρα). Θα περνούσε ένα «τέρας» από ιδιοτέλεια μέσα σε τόσες πολλές περιπέτειες ; Ευτυχώς η ιέρεια απέδειξε την Συμπόνοια και Ανιδιοτέλεια της:)

11.Mikasa Ackerman-Attack On Titan

Η δολοφονία των γονιών της δεν την πτόησε ποτέ. Αναδείχθηκε μια άθραυστη γυναίκα, είναι τόσο ικανώτατη μαχήτρια,μπορεί να σκοτώσει τόσους πολλούς τιτάνες με ευκολία,επίσης είναι τόσο οικεία.Μετά την αποφοίτησή της και των συντρόφων της στο 104ο Σώμα Δόκιμων, ο Κολοσσαίος Τιτάνας εμφανίστηκε στην περιοχή Τροστ και γκρέμισε τον τοίχο. Μια ομάδα Τιτάνων άρχισε να σκοτώνει ανθρώπους και οι νεότεροι νεοσύλλεκτοι στο στρατό έπρεπε να πολεμήσουν για τη ζωή τους προτού καν αποφασίσουν σε ποιο κλάδο θα ενταχθούν.

 Όπως ανέφερε ένας στρατιώτης η Mikasa ισοδυναμεί με 100 στρατιώτες. Η ίδια ήταν ένας από τους πιο εξυπηρετικούς στρατιώτες σε αυτόν τον αγώνα, φροντίζοντας οι πολίτες να φτάσουν στην ασφάλεια και οδηγώντας τους συντρόφους της αφού κάθε ελπίδα φαινόταν χαμένη. Χωρίς τη βοήθειά της, η έκβαση αυτής της μάχης θα ήταν πολύ χειρότερη.

Υπάρχουν πολλά περισσότερα γι'αυτήν: Είναι τόσο πιστή στον Έρεν. Η ειλικρίνεια των συναισθημάτων της είναι ένα σοβαρό καλό χαρακτηριστικό της,είναι ένας από τους πρώτους ανθρώπους που θα πει στα ίσια την γνώμη της(δεν κομπλάρει να τα πεί),δεν θα κάνει πίσω.

10.Yonsa, Balsa – Seirei no Moribito (Moribito – The Guardian of the Spirit)

H Balsa είναι μια πρόωρη γυναίκα πολεμίστρια μετατράπηκε σε σοβαρή σωματοφύλακα. Αποδέχτηκε την εργασία να προστατεύσει τον νεαρό πρίγκιπα Τσάγκουμ, ένα ευγενικό μέλος της βασιλικής οικογένειας που φέρονταν ότι «κατέχεται από ένα κακό πνεύμα νερού»,έκτοτε στοχοποιήθηκε για δολοφονία από τον ίδιο του τον πατέρα (τον Αυτοκράτορα). Αρνείται να σκοτώσει, γιατί εργάζεται αποφασιστικά για να αναπληρώσει 8 νεκρούς, έναν όρκο να σώσει τον ίδιο αριθμό ζωών που είχε αφαιρέσει ο κηδεμόνας της,Jiguro,για την προστασία της. Έξυπνη, με την ισχυρή αίσθηση ότι ένας ήρωας μπορεί να είναι οποιοσδήποτε σε ένα χώρο δράσης για να βοηθήσει αθώους χωρίς προσωπικό όφελος.

9.Victoria, Seras – Hellsing Ultimate

Η Σέρας είναι μια γυναίκα  Hellsing με ισχυρή θέληση, και προφανώς ήταν πάντα από την παιδική της ηλικία, κάτι που επιβεβαιώνεται από τις αναδρομές της. Ο Seras θεωρείται συχνά αγοροκόριτσο.Μια πολύ γενναία, ισχυρή και ηρωική νεαρή γυναίκα που συχνά απορρίπτει τις εντολές του κυρίου της που διασταυρώνονται με τις προσωπικές της πεποιθήσεις. Σε μια απέλπιδα προσπάθεια να σώσει τον Alucard, προσπαθεί να εμποδίσει τη ξιφολόγχη του Anderson να χτυπήσει την καρδιά του Alucard, κάτι που θα σκότωνε εντελώς τον Alucard.

 8.Chane la forett- Baccano

H Chane ήταν ό,τι πιο κοντινό σε πολεμική μηχανή. Ειδικεύεται στα μαχαίρια και είναι μια από τις πιο ικανές μαχητές της σειράς. ‘Αξια ν’αντισταθεί  σε ισχυρούς μαχητές όπως ο Ladd Russo,ο Graham Specter και η Maria Barcelito. Είναι αθλητική και ανάλαφρη στα πόδια της, όπως αποδεικνύεται όταν αγωνίζεται πάνω σε ένα τρένο με ταχύτητα. Οι ίδιες μάχες μαρτυρούν επίσης τη δύναμή της: δεν πτοείται όταν εκτρέπει κατά λάθος μια σφαίρα με τη λεπίδα της, και όταν ο Λαντ την κλωτσάει από το τρένο, είναι σε θέση να ανέβει γρήγορα μόνο με τη δύναμη του βραχίονα.Ακολούθησε τις εντολές χωρίς δισταγμό και δεν έδειχνε κανένα συναίσθημα ή αίσθημα προς τους άλλους. Ωστόσο, μετά την εξέλιξη των γεγονότων στο Flying Pussyfoot, υπέστη πολλές αλλαγές. Κάτι που φαίνεται ξεκάθαρα βλέποντας τον φίλο της τζακούζι και τη Νίκαια, αλλά και βλέποντάς την ερωτευμένη με τον Κλερ.

7.Touka Kirishima-Tokyo Ghoul

Οι νέοι βασικοί χαρακτήρες έχουν συχνά στιγμές ενηλικίωσης, μερικές από τις οποίες είναι πιο τραυματικές από άλλες. Όταν η Ghoul Touka είναι μικρή, ο πατέρας της σκοτώνεται και η οικογένειά της διαλύεται.Γι’αυτό νοιώθει πραγματικό μίσος για τους ανθρώπους, που πιστεύει ότι ευθύνονται για τον θάνατο του πατέρα της.¨Όμως η αποφασιστικότητα και η δύναμή της, καθώς και η σκληρότητά της, πηγάζουν από τον φόβο να χάσει άλλους ανθρώπους που αγαπά,ειδικά τον Kaneki στον οποίο καιρό με τον καιρό ζεσταίνει. Έχοντας αυτή την καθοριστική στιγμή, η Touka είναι μια γερή υποψήφια μαχήτρια. Η ίδια και ο Kaneki έχουν πολύ καλή χημεία μαζί.

6.Saber – Fate/Zero

Η μεσαιωνική βασιλιάς  της βρετανίας Artoria Pendragon έγινε Servant,ώστε να αποκτούσε το Holy Grail στην διάρκεια των Holy Grail Wars. Δεν ακολουθεί τυφλά τις εντολές, συχνά αμφισβητεί τις βιαστικές και ακραίες αποφάσεις του Kiritsugu Emiya . Επιπλέον, φροντίζει ευθέως να το λέει στον Shirou ότι οι επιλογές που κάνει δεν θα είναι το καλλίτερο για αυτούς,ή όταν πιστεύει ότι θα κινδυνέψει κάνοντας κάτι. Το να είναι ειλικρινείς μαζί του είναι ένας πολύ καλός τρόπος για να τον κρατήσει ασφαλή. Είναι επίσης ένας λαμπρή στρατηγός στη μάχη,αυτό αποκαλύπτεται όταν αναλύει τον Lancer στον πρώτο της αγώνα του Zero. Ενώ ήταν Βασιλιάς ένιωθε προσωπικά υπεύθυνη για τη μοίρα του Βασιλείου της, και μετά την πτώση του ένιωθε ότι ήταν δικό της λάθος, που την οδήγησε στο να γίνει τελικά Servant. 

 5.Amira – Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis (Rage of Bahamut:Genesis)

Η Āmira είναι ένα κορίτσι μισό δαίμονας/μισό άγγελος,φανερώνεται ότι κατέχει το μισό κλειδί των θεών (που μπορεί να απελευθερώσει τον φρικτό δράκο). Σκοντάφτοντας πάνω στους αντίπαλους κυνηγούς επικηρυγμένων Favaro Leone και Kaisar Lidfard, το τρίο σύντομα εμπλακεί σε μια επική σύγκρουση μεταξύ μυθολογικών φυλών. Είναι κορίτσι με εξαιρετική ευγένεια,τόσο με διάνοια όσο και αποφασιστικότητα να σώσει τον κόσμο από τις κακές δυνάμεις. 4.Riza Hawkeye- Full Metal Alchemist

Η  Riza είναι η προσωπική βοηθός και σωματοφύλακας του συνταγματάρχη Roy Mustang. Μια ειδικός αιχμηρή σκοπευτής και πυροβόλων όπλων,η υπολοχαγός Hawkeye είναι ένα ανεκτίμητο πλεονέκτημα για τον Συνταγματάρχη τόσο στο γραφείο όσο και στο πεδίο της μάχης,λειτουργεί ως η πλησιέστερη και πιο υποστηρικτική υφιστάμενη του.

Ήταν επίσης αυτή που τράβηξε τον Ρόι από την απεχθή επιθυμία του να σφάξει έναν ανίσχυρο Envy . Χωρίς την καλή καρδιά και το επίπεδο κεφάλι της Ρίζα, ο Ρόι σχεδόν σίγουρα θα είχε πέσει σε ένα πολύ σκοτεινό μέρος! Είναι πανούργα(δεν πρέπει να προκαλεί έκπληξη) δεδομένου του πόσο ο Ρόι την εμπιστεύεται και τη σέβεται βαθιά ως Υπολοχαγό του. Και όταν ο Pride παρακολουθεί από τις σκιές,η Hawkeye χρησιμοποίησε έναν κωδικό για να στείλει στον Roy ένα ζωτικό μήνυμα: «SELIM BRADLEY IS HOMUNCULUS». Ο Ρόι κατάλαβε αμέσως. Όταν ήλθε αντιμέτωπη με τον Gluttony,απλά αρχίσε να πυροβολεί ασταμάτητα.Τι μαχητρια!

Oταν η Envy πήρε τη μορφή του Roy,η Hawkeye τον σημάδεψε με το όπλο,ευθύς τον ξεγέλασε λέγοντας πώς ο Roy την αποκαλεί "Riza" αντί "Υπολοχαγό" όταν είναι μόνοι. Αυτός ο ισχυρισμός ήταν ψευδής, αλλά η Hawkeye χρειαζόταν μόνο τον Envy το πιστέψει, έγινε. Η μεταμφίεση έπεσε!Η

3.San – Princess Mononoke

Η San(Princess Mononoke)είναι ένα κορίτσι που οι δειλοί γονείς το πέταξαν στη θεά-λύκαινα Moro για να γλιτώσουν.Η Moro την μεγάλωσε μαζί με τα παιδιά της,γι’αυτόν τον λόγο η San έμαθε να μισεί τους ανθρώπους και να είναι ένας λύκος μαζί με τα ‘αδέρφια’ της.Μισεί ιδιαιτέρως όσους μένουν στο Iron Town και εκμεταλλεύονται εγωιστικά το δάσος της.Στη μάχη εναντίον των ανθρώπων,έδειξε αδαμάντινη αποφαστικότητα και ηγετική ικανότητα.Η San από αγρίμι ‘μαλακώνει’ απέναντι στον εξόριστο πρίγκηπα,πολεμιστή Ashitaka και τον αποδέχεται, παρ'ότι είναι άνθρωπος. Είναι έξυπνη,παρατηρητική και δυναμική.Δεν χρειάζεται κανέναν για υπερασπιστή,δεν αλλάζει τα πιστεύω της, πολεμάει για να σώσει αυτά που αγαπάει,ακόμη και αν θα πεθάνει.

2.Pandora – Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas

Η Πανδώρα είναι μια ενδιαφέρουσα κοπέλα ,οξυδερκής,αφοσιωμένη στον αδερφό της Άδη. Τον υποστηρίζει στα σχέδιά του,θα κάνει ό,τι χρειαστεί.Τόσο δραματική προς τα πνέύματα,όσο  και στην σύγκρουση μπορεί να νικήσει χρησιμοποιώντας την τρίαινα. Ικανή να εκτοξεύει ριπές ενέργειας αρκετά ισχυρές για να σπάσει μια Χρυσή Πανοπλία και να δημιουργήσει εκρήξεις του να αποτρέψουν την επίθεση ενός θεού. Αλλά κυρίως, το κύριο όπλο της είναι η άρπα, της οποίας η μουσική είναι ικανή να βασανίσει όποιον άτυχο την ακούει, έχει επίσης ένα δαχτυλίδι που υλοποιεί τα φίδια να κρατούν τους αντιπάλους της. Όταν αναγκάζεται να δραπετεύσει, η ταχύτητά της είναι σχεδόν συγκρίσιμη με αυτή του Λέοντα, τηλεμεταφέρεται με την ταχύτητα του φωτός οπουδήποτε θέλει.

1.Revy – Black Lagoon

Revy Two Hands. Τόσο ικανή πιστολέρο,μια πολεμική μηχανή,που πυροβολεί και με τα δύο χέρια!Έχει ενδιαφέρουσες, μοναδικές σχέσεις με πολλούς άλλους χαρακτήρες της σειράς.

Έχει ένα τραγικό (και σε σοβαρό βαθμό καλυμμένο με μυστήριο)παρελθόν, το οποίο διαμόρφωσε την σημερινή της προσωπικότητα. Ξεκίνησε στην Αμερική,η αδιαφορία,η φτώχεια και η κακοποίηση ήταν όλα όσα βρήκε.Ηταν Κινέζα Αμερικανίδα που έκλεβε για να ζήσει.Ετσι οδηγήθηκε να γίνει άθεη και να έχει πρόβλημα με την εμπιστοσύνη στους άλλους. Είναι επίσης ένα μυστήριο ποιος της δίδαξε τέτοια ποικιλία στα όπλα και άλλες δεξιότητες. Ο κ. Chang είναι περιστασιακός εργοδότης της,ουδέποτέ ήταν εκπαιδευτής της.

Η ίδια και ο Ροκ είχαν αρχικά μια δύσκολη σχέση. Ωστόσο, κατά τη διάρκεια της σειράς ζεσταίνει η μια προς τον άλλον.ως συνεργάτες και φίλοι, με τον Rock να βοηθά να εξισορροπηθεί η καυτή, παρορμητική και βίαιη προσωπικότητα της Revy. Η Revy τον βοηθά να αποκτήσει την απαραίτητη αποφασιστικότητα για να επιβιώσει στην πόλη που ζουν.Δηλαδή η Revy αποδεικνύεται και tsundere.

Just got up to the episode where the surviving members of Spearhead Squadron go off the grid and say goodbye to Lena for the last time and yeah it’s just as cry-worthy as the first time

The scene of her realizing what they’re about to do and that she’s never gonna get to hear their voices again or even know if they’re still alive, and then sprints out of the building and takes off down the street to stay within communication range for just a little longer, it’s just perfect. And then eventually she gives up and stops in the middle of the street and just, breaks down sobbing. It had me in tears

It’s always when a character is just bawling like that that gets me to cry too. It’s always times when they’re just sitting there crying. They’re not in the middle of some intense battle or struggle, they’re not trying super hard to accomplish something, there’s no epic breakthrough; that’s not what gets to me the most. It’s when they’re just kinda there, and there’s nothing left do do but let it all out

What I didn’t remember was that earlier in the same episode there’s also a scene of Shin crying and letting his feelings out too. When he finally defeats his brother he’s finally able to relax, he’s not only able to save Rei and put him to rest, but now he’s able to be at peace also; he’s no longer hearing his brother’s voice haunting him, the weight lifted off him must be unimaginable. He’s been so closed off the entire series and now he’s happier and able to joke with his comrades a little and just, smile.
