As part of Eastern Bloc Songs: Party, Pop and Politics and #Uprising68 we are hosting Resistance ’68: A Beginners Guide to the Art of Resistance (Screening & Presentation) by Darryl Georgiou & Rebekah Tolley-Georgiou

Inspired by rebellion, counterculture and the possibility for art, music and education as creative weapons for resistance against political repression.

Georgiou & Tolley take as their departure point their recent broadcast: Resistance '68: A Radio-Film for the Mind's Eye. Weaving sound through archival fragments of music, documentary, news and pop culture. Looking for patterns and joining dots to the contemporary issues and realities of today.

Travel Reminiscence Day 25 #Germany The #BerlinWall is behind me. Taken nearly 20 years after its fall. This was the second time I had been to the wall. The first time it was definitely in use. I had to enter East Germany through #CheckpointCharlie. After taking colorful pictures of the western side of the wall, I decided to take a picture of the eastern side of the wall. The East German soldiers were not pleased and they shot at me to scare me. Then then the police in their trench coats came and interrogated me. Then they emptied my backpack and threw my items asunder. Definitely one of those memories I was glad to live to tell about. A much more relaxing time in this picture. Now to go visit North Korea.
