TOMORROW X TOGETHER Reflect on the ‘Sense of Pride’ Collaborating With Jonas Brothers for ‘Do It Like That’
Tumblr media
The fast-rising pop collab connected two superstar boy bands, as well as OneRepublic hitmaker Ryan Tedder, in ways that go beyond music.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER‘s highly anticipated entrance into the music industry in 2019 generated immense interest as the latest addition to the esteemed roster of Big Hit Entertainment (now BIGHIT MUSIC), whose strong music history was laid by chart-toppers BTS and innovative singer-songwriter Lee Hyun.
Meanwhile, a cornerstone of TXT’s musical story has been the array of worldwide collaborators including global hip-hop stars (Coi Leray, iann dior, pH-1, Woodie Gochild), rising singer-songwriters (Salem Ilese, Seori, Lilas Ikuta), punk-rock icons (ModSun), EDM heavy-hitters (Alan Walker) and more. With TXT’s prime-for-pop-crossover smash “Do It Like That” alongside the Jonas Brothers, fans saw how the process goes beyond music.
Ahead of the July 7 release of “Do It Like That,” the K-pop stars shared a series of teaser videos to piece together their biggest Top 40 moment yet. Amid the U.S. leg of TXT’s Act: Sweet Mirage world tour, the quintet jetted off to meet OneRepublicfrontman Ryan Tedder in the studio. While the super-producer behind multiple Hot 100No. 1s already pumped some mainstream magic into the track, adding TXT’s Republic Records label mates in the JoBros expanded the song’s appeal to a broader generation of boy-band fans for maximum pop appeal.
With nearly 20 million views on YouTube since its release, the song is beginning to connect worldwide in its quest to become—as TXT’s eldest member Yeonjundescribes it—”the perfect summer track” for 2023.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and HueningKai‘s took a moment to delve into the collaboration with Billboard to share behind-the-scenes anecdotes, aspirations for the song, who would make the best TXT/JoBros sub-unit and the latest message to their fans, affectionately known as MOAs.
youtube
Billboard: Tell us more about how TOMORROW X TOGETHER and the Jonas Brothers came together for “Do It Like That.” Have you ever previously connected with Jonas Brothers, or was anyone a longtime fan?
YEONJUN: It was our first time meeting Jonas Brothers for this collaboration and I had personally been a fan of their music growing up and even practiced with their music as a trainee, so it felt surreal to be working with them. “Do It Like That” seemed like the perfect summer track and when Jonas Brothers also expressed their interest in the single, we met up in the States during the U.S. leg of our world tour in May to make this collaboration happen.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER has collaborated with several artists, but we got to see you meet, interact and record fun content before the song release. What was the vibe like? Any fun stories from the day?
TAEHYUN: From recording the track to shooting content, this collaboration was such a fun project. Jonas Brothers were even cooler in person and their friendliness helped us work together in a chill environment.
BEOMGYU: Jonas Brothers were incredibly welcoming from the moment we met. They were just as enthusiastic as we were about shooting content, which we really appreciated.
YEONJUN: We gifted Jonas Brothers our most recent album The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION! We shot a lot of content together, and I remember being pleasantly surprised by how good they were at filming TikTok videos.
Do you want fans to look out for anything specific in the music video?
HUENINGKAI: Viewers will be able to see how much fun we had on the set if they pay attention to TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Jonas Brothers’ facial expressions and gestures within the music video!
Fans loved Jonas Brothers’ sharing “concept photos” in the style of TOMORROW X TOGETHER on social media. Did you enjoy?
HUENINGKAI: We thought their concept photos turned out really well and felt a sense of pride seeing the positive reactions from fans.
In what ways do TXT and Jonas Brothers have similarities, and in what ways are they different?
TAEHYUN: I’d say TOMORROW X TOGETHER and Jonas Brothers are both artists who have a jam-packed discography with quality music. We, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, are not related by blood like Jonas Brothers, but the five of us are a band of brothers too and a family nonetheless.
What are your personal and professional goals with this single?
SOOBIN: It would be amazing to achieve good results on the Billboard charts with “Do It Like That,” but more importantly we hope that this single acts as a window for more people to discover TOMORROW X TOGETHER and get to know us.
Sometimes K-pop groups split into “sub-units” for certain performances or albums. What would be the best combination if one member of TXT and Jonas Brothers formed a duo?
BEOMGYU: I think HUENINGKAI and Nick Jonas would make the perfect duo because their vocals complement each other very well.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER has a lot of big things coming up: Headlining Lollapalooza 2023, a Disney+ documentary, of course this new single. What’s your message to fans as you roll it all out?
SOOBIN: We can’t spoil too much, but including our new single, we have a lot of exciting plans coming up for the rest of the year beyond what you mentioned. It’s a busy time for us, but we’re thankful and working hard to put our best foot forward for the many opportunities to meet our MOA. As always, we would appreciate our MOAs’ excitement and support every step of the way!

I saw the light….I can’t believe I was a Larrie for so long. I was a Larrie 2013-2022. To think they were dating these past few years is insane. Harry would cringe if he went to a Louis show. Louis’ music is trash; Walls wasn’t too shabby but FITF is a complete rip off of 2000s indie rock bands. No originality or artistry. And his voice sounds like shit, always has. I remember when i was younger I did like him but I could never get into his voice…it always made me cringe but I forced myself to like it. And nothing has changed. His voice is still bad. I will never understand how he has rabid fans that worship him. (Oh wait, most of them are delulu larries)
You’d think after all these years Louis could change but unfortunately he is surrounded by yes-men. No one is condemning him for drinking and smoking every single day of his life. So he’s gonna keep fucking himself up. Doesn’t know his own lyrics, always drunk, sticks middle finger to fans and curses like a pirate. He’s been a mess for a while now and no one is stopping him.
Hate to say this but with his family history and how unhealthy he is…he’ll be lucky to make it to 40. His fans encourage him too. They’re like “Oh he’s an adult, he drinks normally…” Babe it’s not normal to down 10 shots of vodka and multiple pints of beer everyday. It’s alcoholism, it leads to liver failure, and it kills 3 million people worldwide every year. He desperately needs rehab and therapy as well.
His sisters are more mature than him about their mother/sister’s passings - they grieved, post about their birthdays, and make sure to keep them in their memory. Louis on the other hand? Completely numbed himself out and has been doing so for the past 7 fucking years.
He’s such an asshole about being a chav. Always talking about eating junk food and thinking he’s too cool to eat sushi, drink wine, eat vegetables, etc. Shut the fuck up. You’re not a teenager, it’s not cool to act like immature about eating healthy. No one else can get away with what he does…getting off to young female fans ripping off his shirt, groping him, even sucking their fingers 🤢 He’s sick.
Glad that Harry is where he is right now, successful, intelligent, ambitious, creative, and the current biggest male pop star. Good for him. Niall, Liam, Louis are complete flops. At least Zayn has #1 hits. The rest will forever be known as the forgotten 1D members.
I will never understand why people call Harry overrated. He is an extremely hardworking man, and more of an interesting unique person than any of the other members. He is charismatic on stage and always makes the crowd laughs, he’s an energetic performer. And I will never understand how Louis has stans. Even when I was a Larrie, I didn’t like his behavior or appearance. Everyone knows he’s ugly but beats around the bush. He is a disgusting typical macho man who goes to EDM clubs every night and has no hobbies besides acting like a child. He’s so rude. He’s just talentless and ugly. Hate him 🖕
I cant believe I thought him and Harry were dating…Louis isn’t even able to have a conversation that isn’t about alcohol, nor is he able to go more than a few hours without cigarettes which Harry hates.
👏👏👏👏 Congratulations on shaking off Larrie after such a long time. Agree with every word of this.

Todd Rundgren at Andrew J. Brady Music Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, April 24, 2024
Todd Rundgren had nothing to say besides Thank you and We love you, Cincinnati at the end of the gig on Wednesday night in the Queen City. The typically talkative musician instead let a career-spanning collection of deep tracks handle communications with his audience, which on April 24 filled about half of the Andrew J. Brady Music Center’s 2,800 seats.
The Me/We tour is one for the faithful, with long-dormant tracks such as 1995’s subdued “Beloved Infidel” and novelties like 2004’s “Stood Up” returning to the setlist for the first time in ages. “Down with the Ship,” Rundgren’s 2022 joint with Rivers Cuomo, meanwhile, is just getting its sea legs and the goofy sea shanty works well alongside the eclectic sonic smorgasbord that found Rundgren conducting synth strings and soprano sax with a baton on the balladic “Kindness” from 1991, playing a searing guitar solo on 2000’s “Buffalo Grass” and proving his compositional prescience on the now entirely relevant rap-rocker “Fascist Christ” from 1993.
In a nod to any casual fans who may have attended, Rundgren began the encore with the first half of “I Saw the Light” segued into the bridge of “Can We Still be Friends?,” which led into the coda of “Hello it’s Me” before the dramatic fan favorite “The Last Ride” and “A Dream Goes on Forever” ended the gig.
Backed by five long-time compatriots - bassist Kasim Sulton and drummer Prairie Prince; Bobby Strickland on keyboards, woodwinds and programming; keyboardist Gil Assayas; and guitarist Bruce McDaniel - Rundgren played 24 songs over 125 minutes, as the black-clad band was bathed in white, red, blue, green and yellow hues from a generous light show that augmented the selections flawlessly.
Strong visuals notwithstanding, sublime audio, from the band and the venue’s sound system, was the focus. Drawing from more than one-dozen solo and Utopia albums connecting 1972’s Something/Anything? to 2022’s Space Force, Rundgren, per his wont, also covered a diverse stylistic template, as he switched from lead guitarist to band leader who paced the lip of the stage sans instrument and tossed in some EDM in the form of “Flesh & Blood” from 2015’s Global for good measure.
Opening with 1974’s ethereal “I Think You Know,” Rundgren celebrated the nature of his fanatical followers on Utopia’s 1985 dance track “Secret Society” before showing off his grimy guitar and gritty growl on 2008’s “Weakness.”
The initial triptych set the evening’s tone as Rundgren, 75, used his deepened voice to bring the songs into the present while the band provided the backgrounds that tied them to their era. To that end, Sulton and McDaniel joined Rundgren around a single mic for the a cappella “Honest Work,” which hushed any grabbers in the house, and “Hawking” came off as a hybrid metaphysical worship service thanks to the veritable choir and a soaring saxophone solo from Strickland. The passage of time seemed to be a loose theme of the Me/We tour as Rundgren plumbed his discography for that explore the unknowable to come up with such tracks as “Lost Horizon” (1985), “Afterlife” and “God Said” from 2004 and “Worldwide Epiphany,” the 1993 celebration of figuring it all out.
The latter got the audience on their collective feet where they remained until the show ended.
Grade card: Todd Rundgren in Cincinnati - 4/24/24 - A

Searching for traces of dark matter with neutron spin clocks Cosmological observations of the orbits of stars and galaxies enable clear conclusions to be drawn about the attractive gravitational forces that act between the celestial bodies. The astonishing finding: Visible matter is far from sufficient for being able to explain the development or movements of galaxies. This suggests that there exists another, so far unknown, type of matter. Accordingly, in the year 1933, the Swiss physicist and astronomer Fritz Zwicky inferred the existence of what is known now as dark matter. Dark matter is a postulated form of matter which isn't directly visible but interacts via gravity, and consists of approximately five times more mass than the matter with which we are familiar. Recently, following a precision experiment developed at the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics (AEC) at the University of Bern, an international research team succeeded in significantly narrowing the scope for the existence of dark matter. With more than 100 members, the AEC is one of the leading international research organizations in the field of particle physics. The findings of the team, led by Bern, have now been published in Physical Review Letters. The mystery surrounding dark matter "What dark matter is actually made of is still completely unclear," explains Ivo Schulthess, a Ph.D. student at the AEC and the lead author of the study. What is certain, however, is that it is not made from the same particles that make up the stars, planet Earth or us humans. Worldwide, increasingly sensitive experiments and methods are being used to search for possible dark matter particles—until now, however, without success. Certain hypothetical elementary particles, known as axions, are a promising category of possible candidates for dark matter particles. An important advantage of these extremely lightweight particles is that they could simultaneously explain other important phenomena in particle physics which have not yet been understood. Bern experiment sheds light on the darkness "Thanks to many years of expertise, our team has succeeded in designing and building an extremely sensitive measurement apparatus—the Beam EDM experiment," explains Florian Piegsa, Professor for Low Energy and Precision Physics at the AEC, who was awarded one of the prestigious ERC Starting Grants from the European Research Council in 2016 for his research with neutrons. If the elusive axions actually exist, they should leave behind a characteristic signature in the measurement apparatus. "Our experiment enables us to determine the rotational frequency of neutron spins, which move through a superposition of electric and magnetic fields," explains Schulthess. The spin of each individual neutron acts as a kind of compass needle, which rotates due to a magnetic field similarly to the second hand of a wristwatch—but nearly 400,000 times faster. "We precisely measured this rotational frequency and examined it for the smallest periodic fluctuations which would be caused by the interactions with the axions," explains Piegsa. The results of the experiment were clear: "The rotational frequency of the neutrons remained unchanged, which means that there is no evidence of axions in our measurement," says Piegsa. Parameter space successfully narrowed down The measurements, which were carried out with researchers from France at the European Research Neutron Source at the Institute Laue-Langevin, allowed for the experimental exclusion of a previously completely unexplored parameter space of axions. It also proved possible to search for hypothetical axions which would be more than 1,000 times heavier than was previously possible with other experiments. "Although the existence of these particles remains mysterious, we have successfully excluded an important parameter space of dark matter," concludes Schulthess. Future experiments can now build on this work. "Finally answering the question of dark matter would give us a significant insight into the fundamentals of nature and take us a big step closer to a complete understanding of the universe," explains Piegsa.

Review: Earth to Cheska’s dominant new single ‘Power’ displays bold self-confidence in a thrilling dark-pop sound
The fierce indie-pop artist Cheska has been writing music since her childhood, writing heartfelt teen angst anthems for her band at only twelve years old, but now her work carries all the more force going solo. Embarking on independent releases, Cheska began Earth to Cheska in 2022 with a dream of being the superhero of her own life and embracing a badass alter ego - one that we’re perhaps starting to think is just the real Cheska. Through epic singles and a worldwide audience, she’s well on her way to making heads turn and dominating stages wherever she goes.
With all that said, if you’ve ever yearned for a track about reclaiming your power and confidence, then look no further than what Cheska has to deliver in her new single ‘Power.’ Thrusting high-energy right your way, this experience will shake you to your core and leave you wondering why you ever doubted yourself to begin with, radiating with a liberating sense of finding yourself and ignoring the opinions of others. From edgy guitar plucks that feel distorted and unlike any typical performance, the lead in to ‘Power’ is one rooted in a sense of unease and trepidation, at first stripped-down but evidently at the start of what’s going to be a bold evolution. With the verses beginning, you’re also introduced to Cheska’s slightly hushed vocals, a performance that’s clearly held-back and awaiting the perfect moment to slip out of her sweet and sultry spoken-sung levelling for something more in-your-face, keeping you on your toes and your adrenaline high before the track is even ready to burst yet.
It’s not long before that development starts though, slowly picked up by intrusive booming bass twangs that almost feel like the beats of the track before the drum clashes come into play. Louder, twisted vocal lines are morphed with electronic contortions too, all the while scattered beats seem to rise in an EDM-like build without the drop, connecting back into the next few verse lines. This constant sense of rising and falling is what makes ‘Power’ that much more addictive, always leading you on and leaving you waiting, and it’s sincerely worth it when you finally reach that high.
Brought in by a well-established momentum and instrumentals at their peak, the chorus finally drops, fading out for Cheska’s drawn-out ‘oh god’ that you can’t help but feel in your bones. The booming drums accompany her every line, a moment that’s reserved just for backing electronic chatters and a stripped-down palette, making her lines the front and centre of what you’re here for. The bass-filled chorus outro doesn’t let it down either, offering more warped vocals, resounding guitar and pounding bass that’s just as intense as the underfloor shaking at a concert.
That’s not all ‘Power’ has to deliver though, weaving in a message that’s mirrored by the sound - when we fall down, we get back up! If you’ve ever lowered yourself down, felt small or afraid, or just found it hard to take up the space you deserve, you’ll find that ‘Power’ packs a punch in reminding you of everything you have to give, and why the hell you shouldn’t give it up without a fight. Cheska’s here to push you to own your power and take on the world, hyping you up when you might not be there to do it for yourself. Between the rowdy sound, she reminds ‘I love myself louder, if you need a deity then I’m your higher power’, a claim that’s filled with the oozing self-confidence we can all do with taking on. Continuing ‘you act so innocent, but I know what you’re after’, there’s also a sense of vengeance and reluctance too, no longer allowing others to walk over her or bring bad intentions her way.
The soft closing segment is a complete shift from everything we’re used to in ‘Power’ though, no longer hiding behind build-up walls or perhaps a facade that’s clinging to more confidence than is really wielded behind the scenes, instead reminding that we’re all human and a little afraid. Through the acoustic tones and more childlike vocals, we’re brought down to the sensitive side that’s hidden behind closed doors too, revealing the pain of losing a partner that either held them back or left them feeling a shell of themselves in their breakup: ‘heaven’s gone and I don’t know what to do, cause heaven looks a little bit like you.’
Whether it’s the dominant energy, the meaningful message or just Cheska’s infectious attitude, you’ll find something to love in ‘Power’ and that’s a guarantee. Keep listening for yourself here, you won’t regret it.

Unlike old-fashioned DJ sets, Stay Home features live instrumentation, lines, and a seamless mixture of pre-recorded and real-time aspects, creating a wealthy, ever-changing sonic landscape.
The Stay Home Knowledge: In the middle of the Stay Home experience is the synergy between the artist and the audience. Performers craft intricate units, mixing styles, tempos, and textures to construct a sonic trip that takes the crowd on a euphoric ride. The stay part presents an element of unpredictability, with artists often improvising and responding to the power of the room. The end result is a unique, one-of-a-kind efficiency that distinguishes Stay Home from different digital music genres.
Technology and Invention: Breakthroughs in engineering have performed a critical position in surrounding the Live Home landscape. Artists now have access to a large variety of digital instruments, controllers, and software that permit them to produce complex, split compositions in real-time. Aesthetic elements, including synchronized mild reveals and immersive predictions, further elevate the physical experience, transforming Stay House events into multi-sensory spectacles.

Justin Bieber
Justin Drew Bieber (/ˈbiːbər/ BEE-bər; born March 1, 1994)[1][2] is a Canadian singer. Regarded as a pop icon, he is recognized for his multi-genre musical performances.[3][4][5] Bieber was discovered by American record executive Scooter Braun and signed with RBMG Records in 2008, gaining recognition with the release of his debut seven-track EP My World (2009) and soon establishing himself as a teen idol.
Bieber achieved commercial success with his teen pop-driven debut studio album, My World 2.0 (2010), which debuted atop the US Billboard 200, making him the youngest solo male act to top the chart in 47 years.[6] The album spawned the internationally successful single "Baby" (featuring Ludacris), which became one of the best selling singles of all time in the US.[7] His second studio album, Under the Mistletoe (2011), became the first Christmas album by a male artist to debut at number one in the US.[8] Bieber experimented with dance-pop in his third studio album, Believe (2012), and went on to become the first artist in history with five US number-one albums by the age of 18.[9] From 2013–14, Bieber was involved in multiple controversies and legal issues, which had a drastic impact on his public image.[10]
In 2015, Bieber explored EDM with Jack Ü as a lead vocalist on "Where Are Ü Now", which won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording.[11][12] The song's musical direction played an instrumental role in his fourth studio album, Purpose, which produced three US number-one singles: "Love Yourself", "Sorry", and "What Do You Mean?". He became the first artist in history to occupy the entire top three of the UK Singles Chart.[13] Bieber diversified on numerous collaborations between 2016 and 2017, including DJ Khaled's "I'm the One" and his remix to Luis Fonsi's "Despacito"—both reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 a week apart, making him the first artist in history to chart new number-one songs in consecutive weeks.[14] "Despacito" was named the greatest Latin song of all time by Billboard and earned Bieber his career-first Latin Grammy Award. In 2019, he released a country collaboration with Dan + Shay, "10,000 Hours", which won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.[15]
In 2020, Bieber released his R&B-inspired fifth studio album, Changes, which debuted at number one in both the UK and US, and a standalone duet with Ariana Grande, "Stuck with U", which debuted atop the US Billboard Hot 100.[16] Bieber returned to his pop roots on his sixth studio album, Justice (2021). It spawned the worldwide hit "Peaches" (featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon) and debuted atop the US Billboard 200, making him the youngest soloist to have eight US number-one albums, a record held previously by Elvis Presley since 1965.[17] The same year, Bieber released "Stay" (with the Kid Laroi), which became his eighth US number-one single.[18]
Bieber is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated sales of over 150 million records worldwide. He is credited with four Diamond certifications from the RIAA.[19] He has received numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards, one Latin Grammy Award, eight Juno Awards, two Brit Awards, one Bambi Award, 26 Billboard Music Awards, 18 American Music Awards, 22 MTV Europe Music Awards (the most wins for any artist), 23 Teen Choice Awards (the most wins for a male individual), and 33 Guinness World Records. Time named Bieber one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2011, and he was included on Forbes' list of the top ten most powerful celebrities in 2011, 2012, and 2013

FIIZ Transcends Reality With Enchanting New Single “ALL MY WORLDS” and Dance Edit
Tumblr media
Riveting electronic pop duo FIIZ returns to ignite dance enthusiasts with their energetic new single, “ALL MY WORLDS.” Influenced by a profound quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, FIIZ entrances listeners on a dazzling journey through the realms of imagination, questioning the boundaries between reality and the power of the mind. The track and its dance edit are now available to stream and download on all platforms. The mesmerizing duo draws inspiration from the concept of the multiverse, fixating on the endless possibilities that lie beyond our perception. The song takes root from the pivotal scene in the final Harry Potter movie where Harry assumes he is dead and has one last conversation with Dumbledore: “Tell me one last thing,” said Harry. “Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?” Dumbledore beamed at him, and his voice sounded loud and strong in Harry’s ears even though the bright mist was descending again, obscuring his figure. “Of course, it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” “ALL MY WORLDS” forefronts the duo’s consistent pursuit of knowledge, enlightenment, and the liberation of both the mind and body. FIIZ invites audiences to embark on a sonic voyage through the multiverse—an idea that has long captivated their creative spirit. Embracing the notion of parallel lives, the fluidity of time, and boundless energy, the track becomes an anthem, chanting a powerful mantra, “All my worlds are real, all my dreams are true.” FIIZ challenges conventional limitations placed upon the human experience, encouraging listeners to expand their horizons beyond mere facts and reality. Delving into daydreams, nightmares, and transformative journeys, “ALL MY WORLDS” transcends the expectation of everyday life by releasing what we know to be true and pursuing the desire to fulfill the many versions of ourselves in all dimensions. It urges us to release the constraints of logic and reason, allowing our imaginations to soar unencumbered. FIIZ was born from the deep bond between best friends Fiona (Fi) and Isabelle (Iz) during shared quarantine, and a desire to fearlessly represent the LGBTQ+ community, defying norms in pop culture. United by their friendship, they champion queer empowerment through music, challenging heteronormative standards with unapologetic expression. FIIZ’s unique synergy comes from diverse musical backgrounds, fusing electronic-pop, hyperpop, and EDM into a groundbreaking sound, which can be heard in their latest single. With an upcoming EP on the horizon, FIIZ has amassed over 75k streams on Spotify and has received praise from notable outlets such as them., Grimy Goods, INTO more, CelebMix, and Acid Stag. With its pulsating beats, ethereal synths, and thought-provoking lyrical concepts, “ALL MY WORLDS” is poised to capture audiences worldwide. Hailing from the diverse and kinetic music scene of Brooklyn, FIIZ has once again encapsulated its prowess in creating electrifying pop anthems that resonate deep within the mind space of its audience. Stay tuned to their musical odyssey by following @FIIZmusic on Instagram. Read the full article

an honest review of the world ep fin: will from musical and conceptual observation (not proofread)
opening remarks: hi hi hello! for real, i didn't follow much of the main teaser promotional era because i was and still am busy with college and trying to get myself to write cause ughh it's so hard. but the fact that this is the end of the strickland era is melancholic for me... i think that the world era shaped ateez's sound so much as edenary + hongjoong mingi is now more taking their edm sound towards country and latin sound that is outside of the realm of pop music as we know it.
concept-wise, it's the same strickland concept but a more military style? like if guerilla is them creating the conception of the rebellion, bouncy is them going undercover, then crazy form is their battle song. and it definitely shows how both treasure fin and the world fin are both full-length albums with their battle song as the title tracks. i also really enjoy how they incorporate comic book influences into the concept, like i still don't know if they are ateez, halateez, or a new persona. based on the unit songs, we might hear various genres from the quick to the slow. if that is right, then track sequencing will be important too
let's do this!
1.we know: why does it sound so spacey? like the level of their battle has reached orbit level. but then the bass comes in and drags you back to earth. oh i love how the low-range timbre members shine here + jongho and his belting of course. it's slow yet has a tame chaotic vibe to it, like a motivational speech vibe. i also like how they're not shy to repeat the chorus multiple times to double down that yeah... they know, they know that you know they will catch you ;)
2.emergency: that bass synth line in the chorus is so SICK! i can hear a more chiptune vibe from this especially the synth line in the chorus, like something i can hear in a 16-bit video game. and the fact that it is gone in the last chorus really hits you hard with the drop. based on the lyrics, this song is literally about them and how they still have to be careful(?) with it. like they seem confident but also insecure at the same time especially with the repeat of "who has got my back". it's like the second part of the motivational speech that we know has started like "who is coming with me?" hyping ppl up in a battle against the world.
3.crazy form: ateez as always spoiler songs in their mv! and we get it! this definitely shows how meticulous their art direction has been planned. they might even is currently an album that might be released in 2025 because of how intricate their planning is (makes me wanna see the behind the scene process cause i think they're one of the best idol company in korea rn, especially since i consider that ateez is a indie kpop artist.
like bouncy, i like how they incorporate the korean instrumental sound in it. never letting go of their origins even if their music is going worldwide. this song isn't as brash as guerilla and bouncy. like it is made subdued for a reason. even ppl are confused if the chorus should be a drop or an anti-drop because of how subdued it is. also the hwawooyunyeosan chorus line is just *chef's kiss*. the refrain istg i agree with them so much. and what i love with how subdued the verses are is that they're going hard on the outro. i kinda want another chorus after the outro cause it just ends so abruptly, like the exciting counterpart of the default chorus with the bass just booming in my ears.
also, just a comment for the marketing team who is trying to make this just as a famous challenge as bouncy is: not all title track can be a challenge. other than it is a lightning-in-a-bottle situation, the song and choreo doesn't hit as hard a challenge song as bouncy. i'm thinking that they have to focus more on the performance aspect of the song rather than trying to make it viral, go to shows like studio choom to showcase the performance more.
4.arriba: the latin/hispanic influences definitely show with this song, from the lyrics to the rhythm and choices of chords and melody line. like i can definitely hear a clave playing in the background if they push more towards the influence. it definitely is a sound that the usamericans like, as latin is literally taking over the music there.
what i want to comment is WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT RHYTHMIC NOTATION IN YOUR RAP MINGI?? THAT'S TOO COOOL. definitely the highlight of the song for me. you're definitely going odd signature with it and i love it so much. (i count a 6/8, but i think it definitely has either a 5/8 or 7/8 in it.)
5.silver light: CYBERPUNK TEEZ!! ooh that reverb synth hits hard. i can definitely hear the synthwave sound with this especially when the chorus hits. the outrun aesthetic definitely shows up in my mind. that descending bass synth sheesh, before it became such a fat sound.
the sound mixing is a bit messed up cause the vocal swims with the instrumental with the part where there are so many layers. like i can't hear yeosang's voice that much because the eq is too similar...
6.crescent part 2: ISTG i miss answer with this so much! (i'm gonna listen to it after this) the piraty sounds uGhgh before it became waltzy. istg if this is the real ateez and we've been following halateez D:
7.dreamy day: right after the interlude, we're introduced to a brighter sound. as if as they have done what they're doing in strickland and retire to the beach aka their second home honestly. gives off aurora vibes but also eternal sunshine. but its like its a shade darker especially coming from what they've done in strickland, like it's not a bright as wave. istg this song definitely shows me how ateez found their sound in both darker and lighter spectrum of sound and i love them for that.
8.matz (98 liners): BRO THAT DROP! okay we're doing cypher style huh? this song encapsulates matz so much tho like "hey, this is who we are and fuck you for thinking otherwise." gosh my ears are blessed to hear rapper seonghwa in this. it reminds me of the bts rap line songs though it doesn't hit as hard for me, imo. (like ugh, cypher pt 3, ddaeng, it's just too good man.) that last chorus gives off old-school 90s rap tbh like. this is just me but like they give off such a kpop twist to madvillain's madvillainy album. like they see themselves as vigilantes and i like that so much!!
9.it's you (yeowoosan): ooh club song? ooh yeah definitely. i can see this song playing in like a dark, steamy type of club where all you can see is objects being highlighted with red. it definitely matches with yeowoosan so much as them sexy boys. oh, reading the lyrics i can understand the innuendos, like using peter pan and neverland as references to the high of sex? fuck you for that.
10.youth (yungi): lo-fi rnb song! LET"S GOO! i thought it's gonna be like vmin's friend but the sound is more like namjoon's indigo (which definitely suits them more), especially since it's talking about their youth and how adulting is hard I CAN FUCKING RELATE gosh yun's voice is so good here, like if my boy make songs akin to crush/zion t, i will definitely support you so much. it definitely combines a bit of their hip-hop side with the drum sample so it's a bit like bedroom pop song. oh gosh, it does sound like bedroom pop :D
11.everything (solo jjong ftw): ooh when the chords hit, i thought it's gonna be like youth, but the bpm slowed down as jongho's voice pushes forward. jongho and k-ballad: match made in heaven honestly. i also think that this such a good song for winter and at a time you just wanna to reminiscent of the year. that modulation ffs and the percussion. GET IT JONGHO ISTG the fact the his vocals pushes the instrumental to follow him. i'll pay to watch this perform live asvdhfdvj
12.fin: will: outro track! it's more like trance but it's very light because of the synth sound which i think it's more like strings. istg my guy maddox with his soft voice before the instrumental just barges you with so many colors as they're harmonizing. definitely an end credits type of song. and a happy ending as they now faces a new world... or is it?
closing remarks: coming from two darker album, this one definitely gives a brighter glow as it implies that they "won" their battle.
how do you finish a sci-fi cyberpunk concept albums? by giving it a melancholic happy ending and hope. it reminds me of the sci-fi stories i know like serial experiments lain, star wars, etc that when it ends it has a melancholic way. like it seems that once they've finished their journey, their tired selves shows as they retreat back to the beach, celebrating just within them as they see the aftermath of what they're done. it definitely shows music-wise.
when it comes to track sequencing, it is definitely done well. i can trace how the heroes journey is going as they enter the third act of their rebellion and how after crescent, it shows the epilogue after what they've gone. it definitely hits me more profoundly when i think more of it. definitely giving of answer vibes so much.
the highlight of this comeback, for me, is san. it's like he's in his peak right; physical-wise, skill-wise, and more. i love how he plays around with his vocal timbre from the lowest he can go to the highest he can sing. a very versatile performer as his skill grew and continue to grow from the last five years. san's going crazy with it and he deserves it so much. the boys deserve their success so much and i'm happy for them.
for the cons: suffice it to say that i know we're gonna get a brighter sounding album when i see that there's gonna be unit songs. but i think the album suffers from continuity of sound because of how both ep 1 and ep 2 has sounded. i thought we're gonna have more songs like halazia in the b-sides before the interlude because it will definitely hit harder with the cyberpunk sound. and because of that, this album just doesn't hit me as much as treasure fin. it's like they're trying to refurbished treasure fin but with a more electronic sound rather than marching band, especially if we wanna compare wonderland with crazy form. and since we have like 3 eras with the same beat through and through, i actually can feel the fatigue now when you realize it.
but, i'm still very much happy with the world's concept, marketing cycles with their guerilla marketing and so forth. they deserve to be called one of the best kpop acts active right now.
final ranking:
12.fin: will
11.crescent part 2 (i miss the pirate orchestra sound)
10.it's you (i'm in the ace spectrum so i tend to get repulsive towards steamy club song lol)
9.matz (madvillain wannabes honestly. could be executed better)
8.youth (istg pls collab with j-hope if you can i beg :3 i wanna see yungi with hoseok)
7.everything (give jongho more solo ballad songs istg)
6.silver light (yes, i'm also getting exhausted with poppy synthwave)
5.dreamy day
4.emergency (not me thinking of the hwa wip i have because of the chiptune song. it can be more lemon demon if they commit to chiptune/breakcore)
3.we know
2.arriba (now i understand why this is the second-highest streamed song in the album...)
1.9024 kick that drum / my ego in this show / to the moon we go / hey, this is some crazy form!!
small conclusion: now i wanna listen to answer, and am now petitioning ateez to do an instrumental album, one for orchestra and another one for edm/dnb. who's with me??

ZURICH LONDON LOS ANGELES
Bryan the G is a professional producer of emerging reggaeton, dancehall, Latino pop and electronic music. The Zurich, Switzerland native made his professional solo recording debut in 2022. A newly-signed deal with Los Angeles-based XX Records in hand, he has quickly established himself as a leader of the Latin American lo-fi movement. His debut single, “Dance with Me (feat Luana)” generated Bryan the G a lot of attention on YouTube and social media platform TikTok. Fans around the world are connecting with his unique blend of Reggaeton, Hip-hop, Latino Pop and EDM. The prolific producer has teamed up with two old friends on his latest single. “La Vida Real” is the brand-new single from Bryan the G, released worldwide via all major streaming services on December 4, 2022. He is joined on the track by American artists Raul Rodriguez and M. Sanchez. The Trio met a decade ago when Bryan was a college student in San Francisco, California. United by a shared love of Latin dance music, dancehall and hip-hop, the three musicians would make music for fun in their free time between classes. Now, a decade later they have come together again to create a smooth, Latin reggaeton banger. “La Vida Real” is a laidback and sexy dancefloor serenade set to a romantic tropical groove. Check out “La Vida Real” on your favorite streaming service. Follow the link below to connect with Bryan the G. Get on his profiles and get in the loop on all of the music to come from this exciting new international talent. Visit the site today at https://www.bryantheg.com to see the latest! Now that you know more about Bryan the G – Dance Dance Dance with me, let’s talk about the rise of Latinopop popularity. While it may seem like a recent phenomenon, the rise of Latinopop has been steadily building for years. As streaming Zurich London Los Angeles into a major revenue stream for the music industry, and fans are able to discover artists and playlists across genre lines, the popularity of Latinopop is set to continue to grow. While many are unsure why this shift is happening, it’s clear that the industry is embracing a more inclusive sound. Unlike in the past, when popular pop music was dominated by American singers with limited Spanish-speaking skills, Latino pop artists are now finding success with their fusion of genres. They find fame with a mix of traditional pop, Latin rhythms, and dancehall styles, and the resulting sounds have caught on globally. Streaming’s popularity has also given rise to new artists who previously may not have had the resources or distribution channels to break into mainstream music. The internet allows for new artists to find an audience, and with a little hard work, a single video or song can go viral and start a career. As the popularity of Latin music has grown, it has taken over from country and EDM in terms of album consumption. Last year, Latin albums ranked fourth on the Billboard Top Albums chart. This is a huge accomplishment, especially as they have surpassed both country and EDM in the process. There’s no doubt that Latin music is here to stay. With artists enjoying worldwide success with their blend of genres, it’s hard to imagine a time when Latin music won’t be the dominant force in the world of pop. You’ll find sultry acoustic guitar rhythms to dancehall roots; these compilations offer a diverse array of genre-fusing hits that reflect the growing global influence of Latinopop. Latin styles and Spanish-language music have developed a strong presence in North America and Europe, with revenues from the Latin segment of the music market outpacing those from EDM and country in 2022. In addition, the genre has experienced a growth rate of 22% year-over-year, which far outpaces the overall industry average of just under 10%. Now that you know more about the rise of Latinopop popularity, it is time to go back to the website of Bryan the G to get in the loop on all of the music to come from this exciting new international talent.
