its really hard being a Goten fan

The summary of the new manga chapter came out, and its not good for Goten. Again. I knew it was coming, really I did. I called it from day one, people told me "just wait and see"!!!

But I knew. I tried to be optimistic but I knew it from day one lol. my expectations for Dragon Ball Super could not be lower, but the disrespect they give to my boy is awful

This "new arc" focusing on Trunks and Goten lasted three chapters. Everyone knew it would be short, but this felt a little tooo short if you ask me. but for an arc about "Trunks and Goten" its really "Trunks featuring some little cameos from Goten"

i made posts talking about the other two chapters, where it was 95% Trunks 5% Goten, but tbh I think this current one was worse in a way.

Trunks blows him off to simp for Mai. Again. and when Goten finally gets a scene to himself with his friends, ALL THEY FUCKING TALK ABOUT IS TRUNKS

THIS KID CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT BEING COMPARED TO TRUNKS

Fayra, a girl in Goten's class, even wants Goten to ask Trunks to ask her out to some dance.

The worst part is, from the little we've seen, he has so much personality and hes really expressive and tis cool. Theres really so much there but there just dont care. They dont give one iota about Goten as a character and its obvious

On top of that fandom ignores him in content. He's either little child as an accesory to Gochi, or Gohan related stuff, "Trunks friend," or some totally completely OOC shit, its an OC with Goten's name.

Okay! Tree-Monitor Person here. I have experience with corn snakes, ball pyrhons, Leopard Geckos and bearded dragons. I build my own bioactive enclosures and had good success breeding snakes so far ( I am in an extremly lucky position - befriended two non-chain exotic pet shop owners that are very happy they don't have to buy corns from mass breeders) but Tree Monitors - hoboi - differrnt ball park. I have found so many contradicting ressources. And I am scared af to buy 1.1 baby tree monitors for 4k Euros and them dying on me.

Tree monitors are super cool! Emerald tree monitors are in that very small handful of monitors I think it's ethical to keep as pets, but you're right that jumping into monitors at all is a big step!

They're also pretty tough. It's great that you're experienced with reptiles, but do you have any monitor experience at all? Tree monitors aren't honestly very good first monitors. You can do it if you're committed, but it won't be easy. If you can find anyone at all who keeps them, visiting their monitors and seeing how they've set up their enclosures and care for them is a great idea.

I've worked with emerald tree monitors in the past, and they're super cool! Here are my biggest tips to help you succeed:

Give them lots of climbing space! They're active, intelligent lizards who need to keep their brains stimulated.

A bored monitor is a bitey monitor. Provide lots of enrichment! Lots of climbing branches and space to explore are absolute musts. Lots of places to hide, including sky hides ideally, are good ideas.

You'll want your basking spot temp to be high, around 95 F, and the rest of the enclosure can stay around 82-85. A lot of people are tempted to keep them in cooler temperatures so maintaining the very high humidity they need is easier - that's the devil talking, don't do that, that's how you give your monitor a respiratory infection. Keep 'em toasty.

Humidity should stay around 80%. It's not, like, a crazy level to maintain, especially in a bioactive. Just make sure it stays there, and make sure you're measuring your humidity with a good probe thermometer.

Here's a tricky part. You'll want to make sure these guys always have nice big water bowls to drink from and soak in, but they can be super messy. Stay on top of changing out the water when it gets dirty - dirty water breeds disease, and they tend to be in it so much it can get them very sick very quickly if you're not diligent.

Don't over-handle. Tree monitors are mostly look-but-don't-touch lizards.

All the best! Tree monitors are super cool pets, but they're also tricky and fragile at the best of times. If you decide to move forward with them, make sure you get your enclosures set up and looking perfect well in advance!

A long post, mostly talking about fandom-things I’ve been up to I guess IDK

Only under a read more because it’s long, I don’t think there’s any Trigger Warnings.

Man, I miss expressing my opinions so I might try to get back to doing more of that...ha ha I know that sounds strange but like yeah..Like I used to write long-winded rants about what I watched or listened to or whatever I felt like... I kinda miss doing that.so I might try to do that more...

That and I’m kinda afraid to but I might share some OC things in the future? I debated about doing it because i feel protective of some OCs but I also want to share them at the same time so it’s quite a conflicted feeling XD. Seriously thinking of sharing info about my old YGO OCs even though I made them when I was 12 and only loosely updated them like 12 years or so ago? ...so they might contain some cringe...also I kinda abandoned all YGO ideas considering I can’t duel to save my life therefore I also can’t BS being good (i.e. I have characters that are competent duelists but I don’t have the skill to even pretend to be good and since YGO is like 95% Dueling it was hard to just ignore it and only write non-duel parts). But yeah, I always loved the YGO characters and the references to ancient Egypt which is why a part of me wonders what the story would have been like had he not completely turned it into a card game manga. I don’t dislike it but...you know a part of me really wonders... I guess I could have done something like that but *shrugs* So yeah, that’s why these OCs have dust on them but ehh might make an interesting thing to share?

It seems instead of trying Pokemon Legends Arceus I started a new Pokemon Platinum game. Yes, after chatting with Aisu about PKMN stuff I got the itch to play Pokemon Platinum again because I guess deep down that’s one of my favorite PKMN games. I have this huge ass strategy guide for it that makes me super excited to use every time, sometimes I just have it near me even if I don’t need it. I’m a huge strategy guide nerd guys, like the physical books type of strategy guides. Does that make me old? Ha ha! Anyway, I’m taking the game really slow though because my kid-self tended to just plow through the story and not train up Pokemon outside of my party and it made for a very narrow selection of strong Pokemon to use, so I’m trying to keep everyone at around the same level. I just now got the first gym badge since I had like 15 Pokemon I was trying to get to the same level. I wasn’t able to keep it even though, because the Abra I got via trade decided to start ignoring my commands at like level 11. I was trying to get everyone to level 12...so if he had just hung in there one more level it would have been fine...but no! It’s fine though...I’ll just get him caught up after I get the second gym badge. It’s funny to me though because I’d never experienced a Pokemon ignoring me in the game before.

Let’s see... my best bro and I have been watching Dragon Ball, Teen Titans, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. We made it up to The Demon King Piccolo arc which means we’re nearing the later half of Dragon Ball and this is all officially new territory for my best bro, which he’s pretty hype about, he was always curious about when in the series Dragon Ball shifted to be less comedic and more serious in tone. Can’t wait to see Piccolo Jr. again in the next arc (the Piccolo most fans think of when they hear Piccolo). In terms of the Cartoon Network Teen Titans show it’s so nice to share it with my best bro because before that I only shared it as a common show with an ex boyfriend of mine, someone who cheated on me, so it made me sad that I didn’t have any positive people in my life anymore to share the Teen Titans fandom with. Like, at the time i knew my best bro too (by like season 3 of the show) but he was a casual fan who would watch it if it was on and that’s about it. He’s become a fan of it too and he sees now why I love the show! It’s pretty therapeutic to watch this show again since it had such a positive impact on me at that time, it’s ironic because I’m to a huge superhero fan normally with only a few small exceptions. I’m eventually going to watch Batman the Animated series with him, probably when we finish Teen Titans.

As for Sabrina, yeah we both casually liked it as kids but because of life and infrequent airings we didn’t get to see the show in full. So, now we’re experiencing it together. We’re on season 3 and at this point the show gets a very slow decline, still good episodes, there are several jokes that aged poorly but overall it’s a nice wholesome sitcom that makes me miss some of the late 90s wholesome stuff, mind you I said some of it lol. We’re watching Teen Titans and Sabrina via DVDS btw. With Dragon Ball we are watching via streaming because well...we couldn’t find someone who sold the DB set altogether like we could for DBZ (which DVD will be our only option for because my streaming service only has DBZ Kai and I actually want to watch DBZ’s filler because it gives us more time to bond with certain characters).

Ha ha, I think that’s all I’ve got for now. Just out of curiosity would anyone be interested in a long-winded not-so-positive Mario movie review? I’ll try to mention what positive things I have to say too but overall yeah my feels for the movie aren’t great? Might write one of those when I feel brave. Anyway, if you made it to the end of this long post thanks for reading! I was trying to pass the time while a FOBG video was uploading!

Dragon Ball Super 059

Yeah, I don’t know what’s going on. Sorry.

Having deduced that Zamasu is probably planning to kill his master, the Supreme Kai of Universe 10, Beerus and Whis have returned for a second visit to Gowasu’s palace-temple thingy. They ask him if there’s been anything concerning about Zamasu’s behavior, and Gowasu seems mildly bothered by the question, but he insists that there’s nothing to worry about.

Then Zamasu enters the courtyard to serve tea, and he acts much more innocent than he did the last time these U7 guys came to see him. He kind of overplays his hand, though, since he acts much more polite to Goku, and even pretends to have trouble recalling his name.

Beerus isn’t fooled, but he pretends to be. He makes up a few excuses to get out of this place, saying that he only returned because Goku kept bugging him for a rematch with Zamasu. Goku doesn’t play along, because he’s such a himbo, but Beerus beats him up until he cooperates.

Gowasu might find all of this rather strange, but Whis distracts him with a gift of Earth tea and mochi rice cakes. And Gowasu’s blood is 95% tea at this point, so he’s too focused on the gift to wonder why they were asking questions about Zamasu’s recent behavior if all they came for was a pointless request for a rematch with Goku.

Here’s your latest pic of Gowasu sipping tea. This guy absolutely sucks. I wish he were evil, just because that’d be more interesting than his oblivious indifference.

In... space... I guess, the boys discuss their observations of Zamasu, and Beerus says he could sense malicious intent in Zamasu. Goku and Shin could not however, because Destroyer Gods are uniquely attuned to that sort of thing. And if Shin didn’t notice, then Gowasu certainly wouldn’t be expecting treachery. So why did they leave? Because Beerus can’t destroy a Kai like Zamasu without solid proof of wrongdoing. So they spy on Gowasu and Zamasu and wait to see what happens.

Meanwhile, in Future Trunks’ world, we find Zamasu and Goku Black sipping tea and congratulating each other on their awesome Kill Everybody Plan.

They live here, of all places, which... I don’t know what I expected, but this seems kind of dumb. They’ve been at this for seventeen years.

Back on the regular Earth, Pilaf tries to give Kid Mai romantic advice, but she isn’t interested. I haven’t been interested in anything the Pilaf Gang have said or done since 2014, but no one seems to care how I feel about it.

Meanwhile, Kid Trunks confronts his older future self, because he’s been down in the dumps over losing so badly. I just want to point out that this shot of Kid Trunks looks a lot like they drew Adult Trunks’s head on Kid Trunks’ body, and it’s creeping me out.

See? Once he turns Super Saiyan it’s like his head de-ages into what it should be.

Anyway, Kid Trunks starts attacking Future Trunks to try to shake him out of it, and it works, I guess.

Wait, hold on, I just received an important bulletin! Gowasu... is drinking... more tea!

Zamasu gets up from the table and walks behind him as he apologizes for his recent attitude lately. He claims to understand what Gowasu tried to teach him before. Sometimes evil is necessary to show beings the path to good. And so, evil can be required to bring about justice. Translation: It’s okay to murder Gowasu because that’s the only way to kick off Zamasu’s plan to murder everyone else.

So he fires up his energy hand thing, and you would think Gowasu could sense that, at least. As he strikes and kills Gowasu, Goku freaks out, but then Whis uses his power to reverse time by three minutes, undoing the murder and giving them a chance to intervene.

And this time, when Zamasu lowers the boom, he finds an oven mitt on his hand, which I assume Whis put on him in order to foil his strike. Maybe the oven mitt has special powers? Wait, yeah, this oven mitt could be like those centipede creatures in Star Wars that can cancel out the Force. Imagine if you stuffed Goku in a bigger version of one of these oven mitts. He’d be powerless!

So the good guys barge in and Gowasu’s like “What’s the meaning of this?” and they pull off the oven mitt to reveal Zamasu was weilding hand energy the whole time. Couldn’t Zamasu just... turn it off before he got caught?

So Zamasu tries to fight his way out of this, but Beerus calmly destroys him before he can do anything.

Yeah, this is pretty nice. Too bad it’s not going to be that easy.

So as far as Beerus is concerned, the case is closed. By destroying Zamasu today, before he could kill Gowasu and steal the Time Ring, there’s no way for Zamasu to create Goku Black, or terrorize the Earth in Trunks’ timeline.

But Trunks isn’t convinced. We saw this play out in the Androids Saga, where he warned Goku about the heart virus so he could survive and fight the androids, but Trunks’ own world wasn’t affected by those changes. If that principle holds, then Beerus’ actions in this timeline won’t have any bearing on the events unfolding in Trunks’ world.

Beerus insists that it’s not the same at all, because he’s a god, and when he destroys someone they’re gone, no matter what alternate timelines they might be in. Trunks wants to believe this, but he can’t be sure. Well, more importantly, he lives in that world, so he’d need to go back anyway just to go home. But also, he still needs to check.

Here’s what sucks. We already know how this is going to go. If Beerus had actually eliminated the threat in this episode, then the story is over and it ended in the most anticlimactic way possible. That would suck, so it’s a safe bet that Trunks will go back and find nothing has changed. That would also suck, because it means nothing that happened in this episode made much of a difference. I mean, they saved Gowasu, but Gowasu sucks, so that doesn’t matter to me.

So the cliffhanger of this episode is basically “The next episode is going to suck, but which way is it going to suck? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Super!”

And that would be bad enough, except we don’t even get to wonder, because the next-episode preview gives the whole thing away. It shows the gang going back to the future and finding Black and Zamasu there waiting for them.

The Zamasu Saga is awful.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania Review

Hey what's going on everyone?! Dan here and today I'll be reviewing Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

First review of 2023 and what better way to kick off the first review than with a Marvel movie? This movie is a mix bag of feelings, on one hand I do enjoy the humor, VFX (at times) and the actions while on the other hand it lacks in areas such as writing/plot, VFX (at times), and settings. I'm just as mixed on the characters and how they're portrayed so hopefully I can express how I feel about each of these elements.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

The Humor, its your typical MCU quirky humor which has bee in these movies for the last decade. However, it works when you give it to someone like Ant-Man who was always established and best used as a comedic character especially combined with the charm and comedic timing of Paul Rudd. I just don't like how everyone has to be the comedic relief. I did not work with Thor: Love and Thunder, was terrible in The Eternals, and it did not work well in She-Hulk due to poor writing. But in Ant-Man, it's not as jarring since Ant-Man has been a comedic character since the beginning. Though they do try to have his side cast be comedic at times too, its more blink and ya miss it quick witted humor rather than a joke every 5 minutes. Though I am upset that were missing some key side characters of the Ant-Man franchise (one we all love in particular) but the actors I'm sure are busy with other projects so I can't be too upset. The humor does work better in this movie though the writing does make it hit or miss at times.

The action for this movie was decent, let me tell you guys that I don't think anything can top The Eternals action sequences where they were basically waving their hands around thinking that was gonna do something or use energy attacks like its Dragon Ball Super, it was entertaining to see Ant-Man and his team obliterating Kang's army and fighting Kang (for the most part). Scott teaching an inexperienced Cassie was pretty cool to see and watching her get progressively better in the movie especially when she fights MODOK in the movie.

Now to the Visual effects, I'm very mixed on this area because at times they do a great job while other times they do things that I could have done in photoshop. The Quantum Realm looks visually stunning, It's almost as good as the VFX from the Doctor Strange movies, but then this version of MODOK looks like they just enlarged his head to max. It's bad but its also hilarious I can't take it seriously. Overall the VFX looks nice but I can definitely see some of the areas it either feel rushed or just got lazy in.

The settings is an area I ultimately felt they feel short in. Like I said the Quantum realm is visually appealing, but this is where 95% of the movie is set in while the other 5% percent is on Earth (or above as they say). I don't have an issue with it being solely in the Quantum realm obviously that's where the movie has to be, it's just the lack of variety in settings in the Quantum realm. I though we'd be seeing various places here but I think all we had were three different settings.

Now to the Writing/Plot, the plot of the movie is Cassie made a device that can send signals into the quantum realm and unfortunately her signal reaches Modok and sends Scott, Cassie, Hope, Hank, and Janet into the quantum realm where they see entire civilizations that Janet said was deeper in the quantum realm. Here we see Kang imprisoned here and is ruling the quantum realm with an iron fist and he wants Scott to help him escape or he kills Cassie. It's a good plot but the way it's written is questionable to say the least. Cassie had time during the blip to study the quantum realm and when Hope, Hank and Janet came back, they essentially helped her learn more and helped her build the device to send signals. That same device is used in the end where we were getting a pretty dramatic moment with Ant-Man, The Wasp and Kangs final battle. I thought this was gonna be a huge sacrifice moment, a passing the torch moment to Cassie where she works with Hank and Janet while trying to figure out how to save Scott and Hope from the Quantum Realm. But no, They pulled an MCU Peter Parker moment with her where she has her machine suddenly able to open the portal to save those two and it really down plays the big dramatic moment. This also raises questions like how did Janet get to where they could reach her in the Ant-Man and The Wasp movie? Did Cassie find the quantum realm research in the Pym household? Why did Kang suddenly get nerfed in the final battle?

Last thing I'll touch on is the characters, Scott is Scott you know, he's charismatic, he's an average joe and he's Paul Rudd. I made a joke about how Ant-Man and The Wasp should have been changed to "Everyone loves Scott" because it seemed like everyone just loves him even his enemies, Scott just rizzes everyone up the moment he enters a room. Cassie is like every young character in mainstream media now. She's a protester, a SJW, she knows everything and she comes off entitled at times. In endgame she was just glad to have her dad back, now she resents him a bit because she thinks he's a complete sellout. I mean you can argue that but I think after everything Scotts also been through, he deserves some type of break. At least she did have real development during the movie where she did own up to taking responsibility for them being trapped in the quantum realm and saw the real dangers of her dads lifestyle and why he wanted her to stay away from it. It wasn't so much he didn't care about helping fight Kang, it's more that Cassie is his daughter and one of few things that matters most in his life as well as she was inexperienced in combat so she would be in danger. Hope is still the same but now she's trying to connect with her mother but even that side plot felt a bit rushed. Janet is real inconsistent in this movie, one minute she's like "why didn't you ask me about the quantum realm Cassie?" to "I can't tell you Hank and Hope about my time in the quantum realm". I can see shes still trying to function in society again so when this stuff comes back to her she goes into some PTSD but it still doesn't help she's a mixed bag. Hank I felt got the shaft here, he was an integral part of the first two movies, but he's treated here as a side character and a bit of a old joke up until the final battle where he gets his moment to shine with his Ants. Kang is a great Villian in this film, he is a tyrant and he's gonna lead to something big (watch the post credit scenes to know what I mean). Though I do feel he was underutilized at the end. He got nerfed in the final battle and he was defeated twice. Temporarily by Hank and his Ants, then his final battle with Scott and Hope and that was a more satisfying defeat though still felt he was nerfed. Modok is just a henchman to Kang and he's literally a big joke. He was introduced as a real threat but quickly went away as soon as we saw that god awful Photoshopped head which is sad because Modok is a real threat in Marvel. He can be a serious threat but is normally used as a Joke Villain.

Overall, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was a bit underwhelming but a fun time to watch. I'm told this is meant to kick off the next phase but so far I'm not sold on the next phase being anything great. Endgame should have been the end of the MCU and would have gone out with a bang. But Disney I'm sure will leech out as much profit from the MCU as it can until they can't. I'd say this movie can definitely be a so bad its funny type of movie which is still better than Black Panther: Wakanda Forever or The Eternals which were more on the boring side.

Rating this I'm giving it:

6.5/10

It's a Mid-Tier movie and a weak start to the next phase but its still a fun time to watch with friends and family if ya need something to do on a Friday or Saturday night.
