کرونا کے خلاف جنگ میں دوسروں کو بچانے والے ڈاکٹر اُسامہ خود کورونا سے چل بسے

پاکستان کے شمالی علاقے گلگت بلتستان میں ایک نوجوان ڈاکٹر اسامہ ریاض مریضوں کی سکریننگ کے فرائض سرانجام دیتے ہوئے خود کورونا وائرس کا شکار ہونے کے باعث چل بسے۔ ڈاکٹر اسامہ ریاض میں کورونا وائرس کی تصدیق چند دن قبل ہوئی تھی۔ یہ گلگت بلتستان میں کورونا سے ہونے والی پہلی ہلاکت ہے۔ گلگت بلتستان کے محکمہ اطلاعات نے اردو نیوز کو ان کی ہلاکت کی تصدیق کی ہے اور کہا ہے کہ 'کورونا وائرس کے خلاف جنگ میں ہراول دستے کا کردار ادا کرنے والے ڈاکٹر اسامہ ریاض جام شہادت نوش کر گئے ہیں۔ ان کو قومی ہیرو کا درجہ دیا جائے گا۔' ڈاکٹر اسامہ ریاض کا تعلق گلگت بلتستان کے ضلع دیامر کے علاقے چلاس سے تھا اور وہ گلگت میں ڈسٹرکٹ ہیڈ کوارٹر ہسپتال میں انتہائی تشویش ناک حالت میں زیرعلاج تھے۔ 

ان کی بگڑتی ہوئی صحت کے پیش نظر انہیں ونٹیلیٹر پر منتقل کر دیا گیا تھا۔ ڈاکٹر اسامہ ریاض گلگت میں پڑی بنگلہ جگلوٹ میں زائرین کی سکریننگ کی ڈیوٹی پر تعینات تھے اور جگلوٹ سونیار سکریننگ کیمپ میں خدمات سر انجام دیتے ہوئے کورونا وائرس کا شکار ہوئے تھے۔ گلگت بلتستان حکومت کے ترجمان فیض اللہ فراق نے بتایا کہ ’ایک نوجوان ڈاکٹر، اسامہ ریاض، ایران اور دیگر علاقوں سے آنے والے زائرین کی ڈیوٹی کر رہے تھے اور وہ کورونا وائرس سے متاثر ہونے کے بعد تشویش ناک حالت میں زیر علاج تھے۔‘

ڈاکٹر اُسامہ ریاض کون تھے؟ گلگت بلتستان میں ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر لوکل گورنمنٹ اینڈ رورل ڈویلپمنٹ ریاض حسین کے صاحبزادے اسامہ ریاض ڈیڑھ سال قبل گلگت بلتستان محکمہ صحت میں بطور ڈاکٹر تعینات ہوئے تھے۔ مقامی صحافی مسعود احمد کے مطابق اسامہ ریاض کے کزن جنید نے بتایا کہ ڈاکٹر اسامہ کا ایک بھائی انجینئیر ہے۔ خاندانی‌ ذرائع کے مطابق تقریبا ایک ہفتہ قبل ڈاکٹراسامہ نے ایف سی پی ایس پارٹ ون کا امتحان بھی پاس کر لیا تھا۔ ان کے متعلق محمد جنید کا کہنا تھا کہ کچھ دن قبل جب ان سے کہا کہ احتیاط سے کام لیں اور وائرس سے بچاؤ کی ہر ممکن کوشش کریں تو ڈاکٹر اسامہ کا جواب تھا کہ 'زندگی اور موت اللہ کے ہاتھ میں ہے یہ وائرس اس سے قبل کہ سوسائٹی میں پھیل جائے ہمیں اس کی روک تھام کی سرتوڑ کوشش کرنی ہے۔' ڈاکٹر اسامہ نے قائداعظم میڈیکل کالج سے ایم بی بی ایس کی ڈگری حاصل کی تھی جبکہ اگست 2019 میں انہوں نے پی پی ایچ آئی گلگت میں بطور ڈاکٹر کام شروع کیا تھا۔ انہوں نے اسی سال فروری 2020 میں ایف سی پی ایس پارٹ ون کا امتحان بھی پاس کیا اور جولائی میں سپیشلائزیشن میں انڈکشن کے منتظر تھے۔

Doctors, Nurses, Front Line Workers

Hi friends. I just read a post about Dr. Usama Riaz, a brave doctor who lost his life while treating patients with Covid 19, and it made me think about all the people world-wide putting their lives at risk during this crisis.

Perhaps there’s some way to memorialize those who have died working the front lines? I think it’s important to share the names. Doctors and nurses for sure, but there are also a lot of people whose jobs are essential who get little credit for the work they do. PSWs, grocery store clerks, garbagemen, transit workers...

I don’t know, I just feel their names should be known.

Pakistani Doctor Usama Riaz lost his life while fighting against Coronavirus

Gilgit-Baltistan Government has declared Dr. Usama Riaz National Hero for playing his role on the front-line of the battle against #COVID-19. Dr Usama, 26, was the first Pakistani doctor who got affected by coronavirus after dealing with suspected patients. He was in critical condition after being infected by the coronavirus purportedly during his duty of screening pilgrims at Jaglote area of Gilgit.

Usama was admitted at Gilgit District Headquarter Hospital on Friday morning after falling unconscious at home. He was on ventilator.. The young doctor was from Chilas area of Diamer district. Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has blamed the lack of protective facilities for Dr Usama’s exposure to Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, with the confirmation of 16 new #coronavirus cases on Sunday, the number of COVID-19 patients in Gilgit-Baltistan increased to 71.

According to private media source, the fifth case of coronavirus death has been confirmed from Gilgit Baltistan. Dr Usama Riaz lost his life who was tending and treating the coronavirus patients. He was admitted in DHQ Gilgit Baltistan.

Dr Usama was in serious condition as he faced issues regarding lungs and brain tissues. He was surviving on ventilator since last couple of days. Earlier, Zafar Mirza declared Dr Usama Riaz as 'front line warrior' against the corona virus pandemic.

In Pakistan, 108 new cases have been reported across the country. The latest surge has increased the coronavirus patients to 757.
