D Pharma, specifically Diploma in Pharmacy, is a 2-year vocational course. After doing the course, you will be able to practice your work as a Pharmacist. This course is the minimum qualification required to take up a pharmaceutical career.
Students who are entry-level and want to carry out a long career in the medical field of pharmaceutical sciences are fit for this course.
This program is made to draw the candidates under the invigilation of a certified Pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other pharmaceutical-related provinces. Students can also complete their M.B.A. Pharmaceutical Management after this course and a bachelor's course in Pharmacy.

Eligibility for the D Pharma course:
· All the candidates who completed their 10+2 from a recognizable board with a score of a minimum of 50% are eligible to apply for this course.
· The candidates must have a science background. For example, they should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. Now, Mathematics is optional, but all the other three subjects should be in your higher secondary exam.
· The merit list will be ordered based on % obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
· You can pay your course fee through the online payment option. First, you need to go to the institute's website and click on the pay fee portion. You don't have to roam around in the institute or university's campus during this pandemic.
· When this course ends, students will be able to practice pharmaceutical work both in the public and private sectors.
· After completing this course, students will be eligible to become scientific officers, Quality Analyst, Production Executive, Medical transcriptionists, etc.
· The completion of this D Pharma course will make the students eligible for higher courses or the B Pharma courses available at the university or institute.
· Documents which are needed for the admission are certificate and mark sheet of High School\Intermediate\equivalent and Graduation, Transfer certificate, Migration certificate from concerned Board or University, Medical fitness certificate from C.M.O. or C.M.S., Character certificate, Passport size photos 7, Income certificate if it is less than 1 lakh per annum and Category certificate such as SC\ST, O.B.C., Minority, General. You must bring the original and three self-attested photocopies of the documents as mentioned above.
Syllabus of D Pharma Courses:
The diploma in pharmacy course instructs in 2 years' respective curriculum. The D Pharma course's syllabus becomes slightly different in different Universities. Different Universities follow different curricula.
Normally, the subjects taught in the 1st year consist of Pharmaceutics 1, Pharmaceutical Chemistry 1, Biochemistry clinical Pathology, Human Anatomy Physiology, and Health Education Community Pharmacy.
The 2nd year consists of Pharmaceutics 2, Pharmaceutical Chemistry 2, Antibiotics, Hypnotics, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Drug Store Business Management, and Hospital Clinical Pharmacy.
Pharmaceutics is the basic subject of D Pharma courses. In subjects, the students are trained in many ways. Some of them are dispensing prescriptions for preparation like emulsions, suspensions, solutions, creams, ointments, Inhalation, salves, syrups, mixtures, pastes, powders, and suppositories. They are given the training to prepare aromatic water, syrup, spirits, solutions, glycerin, mouthwashes, ear and nasal drops, elixirs, etc.

Other than the D Pharma course, there are also B Pharmacy and B Pharmacy LEET courses available in respective D Pharmacy colleges.
To be a good pharmacist, you need to do your D Pharma courseor any other Pharmacy courses from a well-known college or university. An university or college should have well-certified Pharmacists under whose invigilation you would be able to learn the pharmaceutical activities. It must have good labs with all the equipment so that you would not feel the lack of anything.
