OC time!

I had an idea for a Precure team, named Cute Collection Precure, who's main Cures are based on past anniversary milestone seasons' outfits and such! This is Hanabusa Kocho, aka, Cure Yes! - She's based on Yes! Precure 5 GoGo.

I haven't drawn how their transformation item looks yet, because I'm struggling to work out on what kind of shape I'd like, etc, but the gimmick item idea is that they'd place in miniature versions of past Cure teams' transformation items, so Cure Yes! would put the "Chibi CureMo" in her transformation item to transform. She also has form changes, accessed through the "Chibi PinKyacchu", "Chibi Mikkomyu", "Chibi Hatokomyu", and "Chibi Kaakomyu"

Futari Wa Precure Blu Ray box set!

I ordered the second to last one from CD Japan, I had hoped to pre order it through Amazon Japan but they never stocked. I was living in Japan (in the 7th grade or so) when this season aired. the box art is truly beautiful I wish they could release Ojamajo Doremi Dokkan and Motto on Blu ray but considering it's older than precure and it still hasnt happened not sure it ever will. I do have their DVD box though it won't play on my devices like blu ray will. since it is universal.

Why Not Buy Bootlegs?

Today, we’re telling you exactly why people could - and should not - buy bootleg items.

We’re primarily looking at magical girl wands from series like Pretty Cure and Sailor Moon, but the below also applies to a variety of figures and props from across all kinds of fandoms and collectibles.

#1: The Cost

One of the biggest arguments people put forward about buying bootlegs is the price - but that isn’t as strong an argument as people seem to think.

Pretty Cure’s Flower Echo Wand retailed for just 1,300 JPY - that’s roughly 13 USD. Meanwhile, the most common bootleg of this wand retails for also 20 USD, and is primarily sold on Chinese exclusive websites. Yes, you read those prices correctly, it was originally more expensive to get the fake!

Now, this has been out of production for years, which does push up the market value a bit. But it is still significantly easier and cheaper to purchase secondhand versions of the real thing, going for as little as 15 USD new in box on secondhand sites like Mandarake, which ships globally, or Mecari JP.

And this isn’t exclusive to less well known franchises.

Bootleg versions of Sailor Moon Live’s clear Moon Rod go up to 30 USD. On the other hand, the real thing goes for as little as, you guessed it, 30 USD when in used but working condition, with new in box ones going for 50 USD. You can’t even buy two bootlegs for that!

That doesn’t mean all of the “real” items are always cheaper or easily obtained - perhaps ironically, series like China’s Balala are difficult to obtain official merchandising for when outside of China, but bootlegs of it are remarkably rampant.

Plus, any high-quality replicas such as Proplica items will typically cost anywhere from 10 to 100 times as much as their fake counterparts, and have the higher quality structure, screen accuracy, and gimmicks, that the fakes will lack.

#2: Accessibility

We’ve already covered above that these can easily be bough used on Mandarake - check out THIS POST listing tons of globally shipping anime merch stores - so this argument already feels flat for us.

But, there is some merit to it. Simple chibi style bootlegs can often be bought in local dollars stores for very little, while larger versions are easily found on underregulated conglomerate giants like Amazon and Aliexpress. On the other hand, the real thing takes a lot more patience for preorders and secondhand shop scouring, knowledge of stores - which again can be found in the link above - or even the use of proxies to purchase off sites like Taobao and Mecari. And, as mentioned above, some official items may be exclusive to their respective countries, which can require extra skills and resources.

While none of these things are truly difficult to learn, they can seem daunting and confusing to new collectors, and will put off people who prefer instant gratification.

#3: Cosplay & Kids

This, to us, is the most sensible and excusable reason to buy bootlegs. When it can be difficult, expensive, and time consuming to get your hands on the real thing, especially those that are vintage or limited edition, the last thing you want is for a child or cosplay pose to destroy it!

The same thing goes for wanting to paint it to make an OC weapon, especially given many bootlegs are already incorrect colour schemes that may work perfectly for your design without the need to deface and devalue the real item.

Sometimes, the real thing just isn’t realistic, at the end of the day.

#4: Sometimes They’re Just Cool(er)

We’d love to own that ridiculous spider-man crossover wand, and this blog’s owner couldn’t resist this telescoping Cardcaptor Clow wand made of metal. So many bootlegs, especially the crossovers, feature strange and cool new combinations of characters, art styles, colours, and even product materials.

The vast majority of official items also have very standardized gimmicks, especially when buying from within a franchise. This can feel boring very quickly! Many bootlegs have additional or unique tricks, such as all these different bubble blowers, or the ones that work as remotes to control a spinning doll, that make them feel more interactive and fresh.

That doesn’t mean the real thing can’t be fun or innovative, but they are often limited to what is depicted on screen on order to make sales.

#5 Art Theft

At the end of the day, bootlegs are art theft. When you choose to support theft over artists, them and the companies producing their work miss out on money. And without money, shows end.

Sailor Moon's sales were credited with providing the necessary funds for new seasons, not the actual viewership or manga sales. If that money had been spent on bootlegs instead of the real thing, the reality is, the Sailor Moon anime may have ceased to exist. So it is essential, especially for smaller ventures, for fans to purchase the real thing and not the fake in order for the series to thrive.

#6 - Market Value

You may be surprised to learn that bootlegs, in and of themselves, have a surprisingly active market and fanbase that’s separate from the real wands.

As we mention on the post about this Korean Sailor Moon bootleg, all the good factors above, along with the virality, age and location of the item - which adds to scarcity - can lead to a bootleg being just as, or even more valuable that, the real thing. Banned items like the Evil Stick, which find notoriety outside of magical girl spheres, can often be worth far more than their original dollar store tag.

However, all value is relative, and as trends come and go, the price of bootlegs tend to fluctuate far more than the real thing.

blossoming heart precure is the first fanseries I've ever tried making into a proper story and I'm really excited about it! this blog is where most of the information will be stored (though it also has a page on fancureparadise) so if you're curious about the plot or any characters, feel free to have a look through :) the story starts when the perennial kingdom is invaded by the evil rotting king and his three minions. he successfully corrupts it and sends all citizens (including the royal family) into a magically-induced sleep, and only the princess's knight is able to get away, fleeing to earth with a small collection of powerful objects known as bloom boxes. with the rotting king setting his sights on earth as his next conquest, a group of heroes must rise up to protect their home! our cures are: ✿ morimoto honoka/cure rose ✿

a 13-year-old girl in her first year at shizen boarding school. shy and socially awkward, but has a deep love and passion for flowers of any kinds and can talk about them for hours. she carries around a notebook with information on flowers and their symbolisms, and can often be found hunched over next to flowers she passes so she can sketch them in it. when she transforms, she becomes cure rose, the pretty cure of passion and joyous appreciation. Her theme colour is red, and her outfit is themed around roses. ✿ hidaka nao/cure sunflower ✿

a 13-year-old girl, and honoka's roommate and fellow student. she is bubbly and extroverted, but can sometimes be insensitive or careless in her ceaseless enthusiasm. she loves cute clothes and accessories, and puts a great deal of effort into planning outfits and customising all her belongings to be visually pleasing. when she transforms, she becomes cure sunflower, the pretty cure of warmth and positivity. her theme colour is yellow, and her outfit is themed around sunflowers. ✿ oshiro izumi/cure bluebell ✿

a 14-year-old girl who is the head of many clubs at shizen boarding school despite only being in her second year. she is quite serious and academic, but sweet at heart, and uses a manual wheelchair (or crutches when she is at home) due to having weak joints. her family is wealthy and well-known, and she feels she has a lot of pressure on her to fulfil the high expectations they have. when she transforms, she becomes cure bluebell, the pretty cure of kindness and constancy. her theme colour is blue, and her outfit is themed around bluebells.

Cure Nyammy haul ♡

Yeah. Yes. I'm officially a cat girl's stan! I simply love her! So when the Precure Pretty Store merch dropped I knew I had to start my collection. And since Nyammy won't officially debut until my birthday month… I have plenty of time to save some money and buy a bunch of Bandai stuff then! But for now it'll be just PPS (also I love cat Yuki's design too but I prefer to wait until her getting merch with her as a human, so I'll pass on merch with cat form). I ordered a set that had the clear file + holographic acrylic keychain + otedama plush in it. I never owned an anime clear file before so I'm pretty impressed on how huge it is! I think I'll order another one to use for uni since I'm keeping this one for my collection and i don't even know if I'll get this out of the plastic package because it looks too cute!! The design choices are definitely peak!! As for the keychains, one of them is holographic (with a pleasant pinkish tone that matches Nyammy a lot, which I love) and the other one is the classic SD one from the Pretty Store. The packages are so nice and cute I don't know if I'll ever get out of them either! And the holo one even uses the beloved anime tourism site's background ᵒ̴̶̷᷄꒳ᵒ̴̶̷᷅ ! Last but not least the otedama. I'm so obsessed with them, I started with the intention of only get one Nyammy but the set was on a nice deal so I went with it. As always you can't go wrong with the otedamas! Now I can build a sort of an oshi tower…

Wonderful Precure First Impressions!

I stayed up until way past my bedtime for the reveal (it was hard, I'm way too much of a morning person for this). I'll go go character by character first:

Cure Wonderful/ Kumogi

She is indeed a dog! And a cute one, the plushie leaks didn't do her justice. She's Friendy's pet, but i wonder if she's a magical dog that ended up as a pet, our if she's similar too Mofurun i.e. a normal dog that acquired speech/a human mind recently. I love her civilian design, it's really fun and cute, i love the ponytail.

Cure Friendy/ Iroha

When I first saw the leaks I was afraid that she was going to be too close to Mashiro in terms of personality, and we would have a similar dynamic with the lead than last season, but i was completely wrong! She looks like a pretty extroverted and energetic character! Also i like that she have a pretty different hairstyle than her cure form. She gave her last name to Kumogi, so I'm guessing they'll end up with a sibling like dynamic?

Cure Niammy:

Most likely a white cure with a blue subcolor. Probably my favorite design, she looks like she has a fun personality too, a bit full or herself. She's definitely the white cat Yuki-chan, even if it hasn't been confirmed yet. I'm very curious to see her civilian design too!

Cure Lillian:

Obviously she's Mayu. She look maybe a little bit older than Iroha. On the promo pic she's taking pictures of Yuki-chan so I'm expecting her to be the kind of person that is obsessed with taking picture of their pets (she's just like me for real).

Miscellaneous :

So we have those to character Satoru and Daifuku, and it once again it's pretty obvious who our midseason cure(s) will be. I'm expecting Satoru to have a similar supportive role to Ageha in the early episodes and to become a cure on his own later. Like Toei is going to pass the occasion to make a bunny themed character/mascot! And his outfit is suspiciously color themed (There's a quote on Cure Soleil's Wiki page where that says that yellow/orange cures are bit more free to be experimental than the pink and purple who have to be more marketable, so I think that's why he'll have a similar color to Wing). His design instantly reminded me of Yukito from Card Captor Sakura, and apparently the character designers does a lot of Clamp fanart that might actually be an inspiration.

The kirarin animals are the other mascot that will be included in this year tamagochi like toy. I'm expecting them to have a similar role to the star princesses or the elements spirits and that they will give the cures specific powers to collect as they rescue them etc.

About the merchandise it seems that we're getting different transformation item/wand for each pairs (RIP to the collectors wallet), so no hope to find the Mid season cure there, it's probably absent from the mirror pad update, just like majesty was, so it seems that they're hiding them well... The wonderful pact is really pretty I love how shiny it is!

There seems to be a lot of women in the staff this year which is really cool to see!

I think the season looks super adorable, and i can't wait for it to start!

SNAILS LMAO just like u and me sable.............. she saw a bunch gather together in her dog's bowl once and cried and had to get her dad to empty it out. she doesn't like bugs very much in general but thats not that unusual. i think she has normal fears that are the Horrors

8.Do they collect anything? If so what and why? Erina is a shopaholic so there are various things she will buy but not enough to start a real collection of, may think of starting one but falls through after realizing sh has a hoarding problem and is not an actual appreciator of things... like she loves cute toys, will have an abundance of plushies but then they fall on the floor because she rolls around so much in her sleep and forgets to pick them up. But even tho she knows this about herself she will continue to buy things like keychains and statuettes that could possible turn into a collection but are thrown around carelessly

10.Do they have any regrets? I think Erina has a lot of regrets... she is both nostalgic and a secret pessimist so there's a lot of regretting and anxiety in her past actions. Like in college she regrets trying to social climb and still felt lonely with no close relationships. She will regret a lot of friendships that have come and gone. She regrets her first and only relationship before osomatsu, where it ended really fast and poorly because she wasnt ready for the emotional weight (was too paranoid and dishonest with her feelings, was with someone out of pressure, and ended up getting more sad because her ex ended up moving onto a new relationship very fast.) etc etc she has many regrets that she feels were her fault

31. What superpower would you choose for them and what would they choose for themselves? If they have one would they choose something else? hmmm ive thought of erina maybe having villain powers like if bottled up feelings rolled off her and manifested as little bugs or imps that turn other people into funny monsters (precure style)... but if theyre good feelings theyre little fairies that look like her and give u little kiss <3 .. and about what erina would choose... erina is only about aesthetics so she chooses powers based off what outfit she would wear as a superhero, so she would be like "i wanna be a puppy makeup hero and summon a big bone weapon and its really sexy like *draws outfit*"

50. What is your favorite thing about them? I love that she is... silly cutie... LIKE trying to be a flashy party goer but inexperienced and naive and overall cringe fail. it is cute... gap moe wild peppy gyaru is a virgin loser too... a little innocent, is cute <3

She's finally here! The last Cute Collection Precure OC!

She finally arrives, making her debut! The Pink Cure Lead of Cute Collection Precure! Everyone be sure to greet Sakizaki Kaiko, aka, Cure Memoir! She isn't representing any past anniversary seasons, but rather Precure Anniversaries, Precure's Birthday, and Special Precure Events worth Celebrating as a Whole! She transforms using a miniature version of Cute Collection Precure's transformation device, which she places inside the full-size device!

Kaiko was born in Yokohama, and her parents made Memory Boxes for each year Kaiko was growing up, until Kaiko was old enough to continue the memory boxes herself. Each birthday, she starts a new Memory Box for that year of her life, containing photos, items, and other things important to her from that year. She has not missed a single year's memory box.

However, due to her mother's work, Kaiko now has to move away from her friends in Yokohama, start a new school, and begin from scratch. She of course brings her Memory Boxes with her, but this new school and new town is the first time she's ever moved to a new place, it'll be tough for her.

However, her energy and attitude alerts an evil group to her presence as someone who's rumored to have the potential to become a Precure, they try to interfere to prevent the powers choosing Kaiko before anything happens... but Kaiko's desire to protect everyone's precious memories and connections with each other ends up with them being the catalyst for her becoming Cure Memoir.

Along the way she'll make friends at school, who'll become her team... Cure Yes!, Cure Charge, Cure Hug, and Cure Hero - forming Cute Collection Precure!

Cure Cobalt 💎 🌠

Finally have the third Star Spark Precure Cure done! May I introduce Mari (She/Her) aka Cure Cobalt!

She's the same age as Percy and June and attends the same school (?? still unsure what to call it, it's like if a summer camp and boarding school were mixed together) She'd join the team a bit later, around episode 10-12, only interacting with the two others once or twice before joining the team.

Despite being blunt and finding it difficult to get across her thoughts without sounding rude she has incredible emotional intelligence and is quite sweet. She loves cute things and love collecting cute figures and plushies even if she doesn't know what show they're from.

She finds one of the Spark Pacts on the camp grounds and just sees it as a cute toy so she keeps it, it's not until she recognises the trinket on the precure does she realise what she's actually picked up.
