I think we can all agree that watching the cast of The Quarry getting grilled by the cops Until Dawn style would’ve been INFINITELY more interesting than that hellish podcast (then again, that’s a low bar 👁👁).
Until Dawn had PLENTY of flaws don’t get me wrong, but the credit sequence was fucking genius. You’re just sat listening to all these poor kids recapping the most horrifying experience anyone can go through, and you can see exactly how much they’ve changed since the beginning. Just imagine the interactions we would’ve gotten out of it! WAY more closure story-wise, and it could’ve been used to drive home the consequences of your actions through different dialogue options based on player choice.
I liked how it was used before and I think it could’ve given us further insight into our characters, the newspaper clippings could’ve been used in conjunction to communicate the outcome they faced after the interrogation and how the evidence collecting mechanic effects the ending.

Until Dawn’s Fifth Birthday
Welp, congrats Until Dawn, you’re officially old enough to start kindergarten. You’re off to learn to read, tie your shoes, recite yous ABC’s, and learn to count to 100. Your such a big kid now, and I’m proud of you for making it this far.
I know I have done literal jack shit for the entire month, but I have been immensely enjoying the things that everyone’s been putting out for this month. So I’m gonna make this text post, not just because of it’s the five year anniversary, but because it’s actually a post I’ve been wanting to make for a while.
So here it goes:
I first learned of Until Dawn when it first came out hilariously enough. My roommate at the time had boughten it for her ps4 and I had been seeing it all over my dashboard on tumblr at the time. I didn’t play it myself though until close to a year later, when I finally had my own ps4 and I bought the game used for like $20 or something from my local game rental store. And I was hooked.
I remember jumping the first time the UD logo pulls that jump scare on the title screen. And laughing because I’m normally pretty good with jump scares, but that one managed to get me because I hadn’t been expecting one before I even started the game. (The one thing in the game that manages to make me jump every time is the mine cart you stop as Mike. For whatever reason it doesn’t matter how dark my room is when I play the game or how many times I’ve played it, I can never see the mine cart until its literally on top of Mike and the QTE is almost up and I squeak in surprise every fucking time.)
Of course I didn’t manage to save everyone during my first playthrough, I definitely lost Matt to the hook and Ash to the trapdoor (RIP darlings), and for the life of me I can’t recall how the lodge scene at the end went. I’m one of those players though that try to make choices that the characters I’m playing as would, I throw my feelings by the wayside. For example, being in the shed when the game’s making me choose Ash or Josh, and I was debating on whether or not Chris would save the girl he’s had a major crush on for a while at least, or his best friend for the last ten years. I distinctly remember wincing and sucking in air through my teeth and going “Sorry Ash, bros before hoes” and choosing Josh. And then being confused and convinced that I misunderstood the instructions? I mean I wasn’t complaining, just really, really confused. I definitely choose Ash to live at the gun one though, like there was no hesitation. I watched the whole ‘only thing I’ve ever wanted to do with my time’ scene and talk and the moment control was given back to me, the gun was under Chris’s jaw and I fired.
I’m also one of the players that didn’t know that Josh had been behind everything until the reveal either. I had gotten Sam captured so I never got any of those clues and I managed to miss the other clues that hinted at it being a set up (like the bundle of newspapers). So until the reveal I was still convinced that someone was out there killing all of them. Listen, I like mystery games but I’m not very good at connecting the dots okay.
I think I stuck around for a couple of months, gorging myself of fanfiction (all ff.net stuff by the way, I can’t remember if I knew about ao3 at that point or not) but like all interests do with me, the obsession eventually faded (helped in a large part by the rampant Ashley hate going around at the time) and I moved on.
Until February of this year. I was trying to kill time till the end of March when Persona 5: Royal released and I decided to try and see how many games I could platinum until that point. I had made it through the ps3 tomb raider games, Prince of Persia 2008, and decided on replaying the Uncharted games because the ps4 collection didn’t have multiplayer trophies. I hadn’t even thought of replaying Until Dawn. I mean, I had looked at the case and I remembered the game fondly, but that was it. There was no urge or want.
I was halfway through Among Thieves when I was bored and chilling time on Youtube. And because I had been watching a couple of videos for the treasure locations in Uncharted, one of the recommended videos for me was a game sins for the series. I decided sure why not, and watched it. And watched a few of his other ones as well, Until Dawn included.
That’s right, what got me back into the series wasn’t fond nostalgia for the characters or story. It was a fucking Game Sins video. I’m so sorry.
I was devouring UD content again. I spent like 2 or 3 weeks reading everything Chrashley (with the hyper-fixation for the game back came the ship, what can I say) based on ao3 that I could get my hands on. I was back into the tag on tumblr, going through art I remembered seeing way back when and looking at usernames that didn’t mean a thing then, but mean the world to me now. And then near the end of February, when the obsession was once again starting to flag, I decided to hell with it, and clicked on the The (Almost)s.
I’m not going to expunge all my praises for the story, everyone else has done that better then I ever could. But guys, it was so good. So so good. I was hooked back into the series once again, just as I was starting to flag. And when I saw that @queenofbaws had mentioned that she was tumblr... I didn’t do anything right away. Too scared really, figured she might find it creepy, so I didn’t do anything for like a week. And then I decided fuck it, sent a message about Chris giving Ash his sweater, and following her.
And that was it. I figured I would stick around to see the story completed and just dip. Not even make a splash, just enjoy the content from the sidelines and no one would know that I was here in the first place. Same old, same old. But that was also when I started turning around the kernel in my mind that Baby It’s Cold Outside (so hold me tight in your arms and don’t let go). I didn’t even intend to write it, it was just going to be the fanfic that lived in my mind for me to stew on before bed every night. But I couldn’t sleep one night, my brain was too on and the words just weren’t stopping, so I pulled out my computer and wrote the first part from Chris standing in the snow outside to him reaching the lodge at like 3 in the morning.
I started becoming more involved in the fandom when queenie started her wip wednesdays and asked to be tagged. Hilariously enough, those days are what started me cross-stitching again too, I hadn’t touched the pattern in months at that point. So I started posting snippets of my writing, and that one day a week was the only thing pushing me to continue writing. By that point, I had stopped hanging around the edges, now trying to push myself closer into this little fandom circle.
The day I posted the story, I was fucking terrified. It wasn’t my first story, not by a long shot, but I had always considered my writing to be shit. I thought I had good ideas, but I never felt that I was able to truly bring them to life. English and grammar had never been my best subject, I was always more of a math and physics person growing up. But then that first comment from @elliepollie came in and I almost burst into tears. I couldn’t believe that someone out there liked it so much, that they were willing to leave me a review in the first place. I’m still so blown away that she was willing to recommend it as a Chrashley story for other people to read. I think that was the point I stopped hesitantly pushing my way through, and I just kicked down the doors and just yelled ‘Hey fuckers! I’m here now and you are going to fucking deal with it!’.
That was the event that opened the floodgates for me. Suddenly I was talking to people, I had friends online with the same interests as me. I’ve written more in the last six months then I’ve done in the last ten years! I’m feeling inspired to create again. I actually went out to do the first commission I’ve ever requested (speaking of which, please please please go commisson @fudgeroach. I cannot wait until he can post and show you guys the stuff he drew for me. It was worth every fucking penny let me tell you.)
I’m going to be honest, Until Dawn isn’t my favourite game. Sure it has some of my fav lines (it had been years since I played the game, and the moment Jess started her rant outside the guest cabin I was screaming it along with her) and great characters, as horrible people as they all are, but it’s never been my favourite game and likely never will be. But Until Dawn has the best fandom I’ve ever been in and I’m so, so happy to have met and known every single person here. I seriously love every single person here so, so much. You all make my life better and I’m so happy to have all of you in it. Just to quote Chris because I can: “Every second I spend with you is all I ever wanted to do with my time.” This is how I feel. This is how I feel every goddamn day now.
So yeah, I got back into this fandom from a stupid Game Sins video. But by god if it wasn’t the best choice I’ve ever made.
(PS: for those wondering, I never did finish Uncharted 2. Maybe one day...)

Can you tell us about your Until Dawn au?
Gladly! It’s not anything spectacular, but it’s a fun idea totinker around with, anyways ^^
So it’s basically just Until Dawn with all the UD charactersreplaced with the Pokemon characters and a few changes to the storyto fit around the world of pokeani, with the character roles going asfollows:
Ash - Josh
Misty - Sam
Brock - Mike
May - Ashley/Chris (interchangeably, ‘cause in some instances I want her to be in Ashley’s position, and in others, Chris’s, for reasons I’ll get into in a bit)
Dawn - Jessica
Jessie - Emily
James - Matt
Meowth - Chris/Ashley (same thing as May)
Pikachu - technically serving both the positions of Hannah and Beth, but namely Hannah
and then the old flamethrower man dude can be like an older, rugged Officer Jenny who’s long since retired lol
Oh, I should probably mention that everyone is in their 20′s orolder at the time of this au. Also, since I came up with this aubefore I watched XY (and I never bothered with BW whoops),unfortunately those travel companions will not be there. So let’sjust say, for the convenience of the story, that they had otherarrangements and couldn’t make it
From here on out, this is gonna get super LONG, and super SPOILERYFOR UNTIL DAWN. So if you don’t know jack diddly about UD, and youdon’t want to be spoiled, I’d recommend holding off on reading thisfor now. So I’m gonna put the rest under a read more so I ain’tclogging up anyone’s dash with my dumb au
So basically, instead of a bunch of rowdy college kids staying upat a cabin to party and sex each other all day and all night, it’sgonna basically be like this:
Ash won a pokemon league and became a pokemon master (finally),and won a cabin on top of Mount Silver…? I think was the place Iwanted him at…?
ANYWAYS, he’s celebrating, all his friends are there (at leastthe ones I mentioned above), they’re all having a fun dandy time, and eventually Ash conks out from exhaustion. During this time, whoelse but Team Rocket decides to stick their noses where they don’tbelong in hopes of ‘congratulating’ Ash by means of stirringup trouble and capturing Pikachu. (they do mean well, and they areactually super happy for him, butchaknow–they’re kinda the mastersat fucking things up royally)
As they’re trying to make their epic getaway, though, thesnowstorm outside blows them way off course, and they end up droppingPikachu just before they crash into the trees. They’re all fine,Pikachu included, but Pikachu’s a far ways away from the cabin now,and has to try and make it back on his own, cause the others sure asfuck ain’t gonna find him in this weather
On the way, though, some monstrosity catches sight of him andchases him to the edge of a cliff. Pikachu ends up falling off (Withthe old Officer Jenny trying to save him and failing), but hesurvives the fall. Unfortunately, he has no way of letting the othersknow of his location, since he’s so far out and so far down intothe depths of the mountain, so he’s deemed missing by theauthorities
Fast forward a year, and suddenly Ash is inviting everyone (TeamRocket included) back up to the cabin to celebrate the memory of hismissing/probably dead best friend. Everyone is a bit unsettled goingback, but go anyways, if only just to try and help out Ash in any waythey can.
A couple problems they notice through the night, though, are 1.Their pokeballs don’t seem to work (Ash claims that cell towersrecently put up on the mountain are messing with the technology) and2. There seems to be a certain bloodthirsty killer up on the mountainwith them :o
Throughout the night, the eight are eventually split up intopairs, partly because of their own volition, and partly because ofTeam Rocket being there and causing suspicion. For instance, Dawn haslike zero sympathy for the Trio and doesn’t want anything to dowith them, so Brock takes her up to the guest cabin. Jessie and Jamesgo out on their own (either exploring or James forgot a bag orsomething, I haven’t decided). Meowth doesn’t deem it necessaryto accompany them (the trip there wore him out, he claims–inreality, he’s just fucking lazy), so he sticks around with May,Misty, and Ash.
AND THAT’S WHEN SHIT GOES DOWN
Dawn and Brock are the first to be attacked, unbeknownst to theothers, and Dawn is presumed to be dead by Brock (shes fine tho) bythe time he reaches her. He then goes on a quest to find theperson(?) who hurt his friend to bring the great fist of JUSTICE downon them. The quest leads him through an abandoned pokemon hospitalwith a very shady past (which, admittedly, I haven’t put too muchthought into), and also delves into the mysterious transformation ofpokemon who have died into a very vicious and hostile ghost-typepokemon that has only ever been spotted on the mountain (and you cansee where this is going for a certain mouse pokemon who has beenmissing for over a year)
Back at the cabin, Misty takes a bath, and Ash, May, and Meowthplay with the spooky spirit board that tells them that Pikachu’sdisappearance was no accident, but was actually planned (which makesMeowth suuuuper uncomfortable and guilty). So Ash has anunderstandable reaction to this thing that he believes the other twohave made up in some attempt to make him feel better (?), and May andMeowth eventually get knocked the fuck out by Mr. Spooky Clown Man.
May wakes up a little later and finds that Ash and Meowth are bothmissing. After some searching, she finds them in a shed outside, bothtied to a wall with a buzzsaw aimed right at them. Mr. Spooky ClownMan comes over the intercom and tells May that she can only save oneof them from being ripped in two. So she’s sobbing cause shedoesn’t want to have to make this decision, Meowth’s sobbingbecause he knows that he ain’t the one she’s gonna choose, andAsh is sobbing because LOLL WHOOPS EVEN THOUGH MAY CHOOSES TO SAVEASH, SHE ENDS UP SAVING MEOWTH BECAUSE THE BUZZSAW SAYS SO
So uh. May’s super traumatized and heartbroken about watchingone of her best friends getting killed. But. She’s also growing ateensy bit suspicious of Meowth, seeing as how she distinctly choseto save Ash instead of him, and how Jessie and Jamesare conveniently away from the area during theattack and show up conveniently after said attack. So in her mind, she comes up with this elaborate hypothetical schemethat she believes the Rockets are planning, and tries to take theinitiative in stopping said plans by keeping Meowth along with herwhile she tells Jessie and James to go find help (under the guisethat she’s keeping Meowth with her as insurance that they don’tgo ditching everyone).
Jessie and James go on a little adventure over the mountains afterdiscovering that their balloon has mysteriously been torn to shredsand all the fuel has been mysteriously emptied out. After discoveringthat the cable car house leading up to the cabin is in shambles, thetwo come across a radio tower. They manage to get a hold of somehelp, but that’s when the tower decides to suddenly keel over andtrap them in the mines, oh fun!! In the mines, Jessie is holding onfor dear life to the rail of the tower, and James tries to pull herup, but can’t reach her. He asks if she trusts him, and that hebelieves he will have a better chance at reaching her from the ledgebehind her. She hesitantly says yes, and allows him to jump, but thejump is the last bit of force needed to send the tower tumbling tothe abyss, Jessie along with it. YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW FUCKINGDISTRAUGHT JAMES IS.
Jessie’s fine tho. Turns out she got caught in the wires duringthe fall, and manages to make it to safety afterwards. Then she goeson a spectacular, fun filled adventure through the mines discovering bits and pieces asto what happened to Pikachu after he went missing, and also runninginto Rugged Ol’ Jenny.
May keeps her suspicions to herself until the very end of the Mr.Spooky Clown Man escapades, where they’re both put into anotherdeath trap, and Meowth ends up being the one with the gun. Then itall comes out, and you can imagine how pleased Meowth is to hear thatthe only reason May separated him from his friends and quite possiblygot both of his friends killed during this horrific night was becausethat she thought they devised this whole thing.
THEEENN THE TRUTH COMES OUT, AND MR.SPOOKY CLOWN MAN IS ACTUALLY ASH, WHO’S APPARENTLY LOST HIS SHITAFTER LOSING PIKACHU. SO UM. HE’S FUCKING PISSED AT TEAM ROCKET FORTAKING PIKACHU AND PROBABLY GETTING HIM KILLED. AND HE’S ALSO FUCKINGPISSED THAT HIS FRIENDS DID PRETTY MUCH NOTHING TO HELP PIKACHU.
IT’S DURING THIS TIME THAT MISTY ANDBROCK MEET UP WITH EACH OTHER, THEN MEET UP WITH THOSE THREE.
YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW FINE AND DANDYEVERYONE IS TO HEAR THAT THEY’VE JUST BEEN THROUGH THE WORST NIGHT OFTHEIR LIVES JUST FOR A STUPID PRANK THAT ASH DECIDES TO PULL ON THEMIN A SICK FORM OF REVENGE.
Anyhoo, Brock breaks the news thatDawn’s fucking dead (supposedly), he and Misty decide that Ash is notallowed to be on his two feet for the rest of the night until helparrives, and Meowth decides, ‘fuck you guys, you’re all awful, immago find my friends’
During which time, Jessie manages tomake it back to the cabin after being attacked by the Hostile GhostPokemon, and Rugged Ol’ Jenny is not far behind, quite literallycarrying Meowth back with her, cause 'nah you’re not allowed to beout on your own at this time of night—dontcha know there bemonsters?’
Annnnnnnnnnd the rest of the storybasically pans out just like how Until Dawn pans out.
SORRY THIS WAS SO LONG. I JUST NEEDEDTO PUT IN MY CHANGES IN ORDER FOR EVERYTHING TO MAKE SENSE. BUT YEAH.THAT’S MY DUMB UNTIL DAWN AU.
I partly reallllllly wanna write itout, but also—that would require writing out and reworking thebackstory  of the penitentiary/mines. And also somehow incorporatinga sense of choice in the story. Which I don’t think I have the skillto do lol
I have some ideas about possibleoutcomes, such as what it’s like if a character dies, if some die butnot others, if no one dies, or the emotional and eventual impact ofsaid deaths (for example, if Brock shoots Jessie after discoveringthat she has been bitten by Hostile Ghost Pokemon, Meowth will be soovercome with shock and grief and anger that he’ll lose allsensibility and rational thought, which will eventually lead to hisown demise at the hands of a Hostile Ghost Pokemon mimicking James’svoice; versus if Brock doesn’t shoot her, and both Rockets are justsuper livid and untrusting of the twerps for the rest of the nightand Meowth has enough sense to make good decisions about suspiciousJames-sounding monstrosities), but I won’t put y'all through any moreof that lol
While I don’t plan on having this beingsuper shippy, I plan to have mentions/small discussions ofPokeshipping pining (possibly, haven’t decided whether I want thisone or not), Lustshipping, Contestshipping, Appealshipping,Rocketshipping pining, and Krazyshipping pining (lol whoops)
I also have a couple other au’s withinthe au, one of which Meowth takes the position of Beth and fallsalong with Pikachu at the beginning, and another where Pikachu iswith the group and someone completely different falls. But both ofthose au’s are very underdeveloped; this is the only one I’ve put any real thought into lol
but yeah. I think I’ve said all I cansay about this. It’s a dumb idea, but I think putting charactersthrough horrible situations is a great way to explore their psycheand toy around with what kind of decisions they might make instrenuous situations. Or at least I like to tell myself that in orderto justify myself for putting my favorite characters through absolutehell and back.

I know you've mentioned your headcanons for children of the UD gang, but could you describe their kids in more detail? Like appearance, personality etc
Okay anon, myheadcanons are very much always in flux and I have differentversions of most. Especially in the ‘after the game’ category.  Sojust as a heads up I’m basing this on THIS version of my UD childrenheadcanons because it is the only one that I have a detailedheadcanons for and really it’s the only one of them that isgenuinely happy.
Josh (Jay) has onetrait in common with his mother Ashley, her green eyes. They bothcried over it a lot when he was very young because sometimes lookinginto his green eyes was extremely painful as they are also the samecolor of his namesake’s. He’s a Joshua with green eyes and thathurts, so they decide to call him Jay instead. Chris still cries overit sometimes but much less often. Other than that Jay could not bemore his father’s son. In looks or attitude, he literally looksnothing like Ashley. He is a serious show off and know-it-all far toomuch smarter than his peers. He has quite the obsession with buildingthings in the garage. Unfortunately like hisblow-torch-out-of-a-deodorant-can-to-melt-army-men andshoot-the-tank-of-a-flamethrower-hoping-for-the-best father, he isclever but not the least bit careful. Chris and Ashley spend so muchtime at the ER, Chris jokes they should see if they can get aspecial, permanent parking spot. Ashley does not find this funny. Jaydoes not have too many other interests outside that, school and videogames. He isn’t a trouble maker in any other way and is anintrovert with few friends. He’s gay, which as his brother istransgender Chris jokes he and Ashley must have queer embedded intheir DNA as they’re both demisexual and nb themselves. Ashley doesfind this funny.
Jackson (Deadname:Jacqueline) was named for Flamethrower guy after Chris finallytracked down his real name. That’s because “He saved my fuckinglife, Ash.” Coming out was weird for him because Ashley respondedby saying both they and his father were trans too and asked how hehadn’t noticed. To be fair, he was 7. He looks far more like acombination of his parents. His hair is a perfect blend of red andblonde. He reads a lot. He has about as many books as Ashley does.Chris and Jay would much rather they used kindles so the house wasn’tas crowded with bookshelves. Unlike Jay, he’s extremely embarrassedby his parents, but most especially by his father and Chris takes somuch joy in purposely embarrassing him. Ashley finds it as funny ashim. He might not be interested in anything that is not Entomology(thestudyof insects) or Cryptozoology(thestudyof mythical Creatures).Even as young child he had an avid interest in creepy-crawlies andmyths. This massively bothers Chris and Ashley but they can’t tellhim why and don’t want to force him to change hobbies. SometimesAshley cries over it and Chris will sometimes yell at him. (thoughboth are exceedingly rare). They do try steer him towards insects asthey’re terrified a career in the latter will lead him into a dangerthey both know is very real.
Grace is very muchlike Jess, as well as being basically a spitting image of her. Shehas Mike’s lips and his body more like his. She is almost tall asher father. So Grace is straight banging! We are talking model prettyhere. She is also fit and strong af. Girl’s got a six-pack thatwould put every guy in her grade to shame. Mike is more than a littleproud his baby girl could definitely kick a grown man’s ass andprobably shoot a deer from 200 feet away, killing it in one shot. However survival training skills are hardly her only interest andhonestly she really only does it to stay in shape and keep up theskills. Mike instilled this habit in her from a young age. He willnever allow what happened to Jess happen to his children. Grace wouldmuch rather like to pursue a career as a professional dancer and Jessnot only supports it, she loves it. Mike suspects Jess may be tryingto vicariously live though their daughter but she doesn’t push iton Grace so he lets it go. She dreams of being a back-up dancer tosomeone famous like Arianna Grande or Beyonce (not specifically themas they may no longer be stars in her time, but someone as famous.)She is quite talented. She’s skilled in everything from hip-hop toswing to salsa although Mike would prefer if she didn’t like themore sexy styles of dancing as much as she does.
Mike Jr. (MJ) looksa lot more like Jess than Mike but he does have his father’s faceshape and jawline. He is very different than the rest of hisout-going, extrovert family members. He is trained much like Grace insurvival skills. So he is strong and fit but much less so than hissister. He forgets to keep up with his work outs and training. Heremembers enough to still be pretty skilled at all of it but he wouldrather do much more quiet endeavors. He likes practicing the guitarand far more musically inclined than he is anything. He is an A+student much like his father was though unlike with Mike Sr all ofhis teachers would rather he participated more. Mike tries to be okaywith this. He really does, but he is more worried than he is upset. He is afraid MJ is going to have a hard time in life because despitebeing physically strong his is too emotionally weak. This also upsetsMike because it reminds him of Hannah. Jess doesn’t really see it,so she is often comforting him over it. He also doesn’t seem tointerest girls but he also doesn’t seem to interested in boys. Jessand Mike aren’t too worried about that as they think he might growout of it. Even if he doesn’t they don’t want to force anythingon their children. Jess is secretly happy her son is this way. Sheworries Grace’s attitude will get her into trouble like it didJess.
Riley obviouslylooks nothing like either of her parents. She’s Latina though asshe has been with Matt and Emily since she was just a baby shedoesn’t speak Spanish. She is almost the perfect stereotype of aspoiled rich girl. But she’s spoiled sweet not rotten. Matt hasmanaged to instill in her his kindness and gratitude for life. Emilyhas encouraged to be a good student. So while she has a bit of askewed view of the world as she has rich and semi-famous parents (herfather especially) she’s not a mean girl. She was born 5 yearsafter the youngest of her parents’ friends’ kids (Jack). In fact she’squite sweet if naive and a little out of touch with reality. Sheisn’t naturally smart like Emily is. But she studies hard and itpays off for her. That and she attends the best school Emily couldget her in. Even though she’s a girly-girl she is a daddy’s girland dada was her first word. Matt is more than willing to play dresswith her and play with her dolls and do her hair when she is little. He often falls for the puppy dog eyes when she is a teenager and willbuy her anything she wants. Emily asks him if he is aware she isplaying him and Matt always says “Yeah, but look how happy she is.”Emily is quite proud of her daughter’s work ethic and her sense ofstyle. She is also thrilled Riley wants to go into fashion design.
SPOILER: I’mhoping (*fingers crossed*) to write a Sam fic based on this next headcanon so if youwant to read that if and when it comes out do not read any further asthis contains a major spoiler. If you don’t care, read on.
Sam has twochildren, twins born around 9 months after the events of the game,Hannah-Beth Giddings and Christopher Giddings each of them namedafter their parents’ best friends. For those of you who can’t seewhere this is leading to. They are Josh’s kids as well and Sam wishesshe could’ve told him about it before he “died” (Wendigo-Joshcanon). They, quite unfortunately for everyone, look exactly like allthe Washingtons and literally nothing like Sam. As to avoid anyconfusion they call Christopher by the nickname Kit. They are theoldest of all the kids in this generation for obvious reasons.
Kit is, much likeJay, his father’s son. Though unlike Jay he is a terror in everyconceivable way. Sam is constantly being called in his school becausesurprise, surprise Kit is in trouble. He is though a very well likedkid. He has many friends but honestly his best friend is of courseHannah-Beth, but he likes all his mom’s friends kids. He does notlike the outdoors. He does not like animals. He does not likeclassical music. He does not like pretty much anything Sam likes. This makes it hard for Sam to bond with her son. He would much rathergo to a house party or play video games and (“don’t you daretell, mom!”) build models. Again since he is a Washington at hearthe is drawn to most creative pursuits. Film, painting, singing. Hehas many artistic interests and talents. It might be all of theseinterests that make him so many friends with a wide variety of peopleand he is considered a heartthrob. He also inherited the dreadedWashington trait of skilled lying.
Hannah-Beth, usuallyjust called Hannah also looks all Washington though this means shelooks more like Hannah and Beth. Sam is unsure if her daughter islike her or if her daughter is like Beth. The two of them had a lotin common. She has almost the exact opposite interests as Kit. Sheloves sports and the outdoors and most of all she loves animals. Shewants to be a vet. Personality wise though she is very much like herbrother. An out-going extrovert with a lot of friends. Sam’s kidsmight be the most popular ones in their school. Hannah plays softballand she wrestles. She got Josh’s sense of humor and his love ofmaking people laugh. She and Sam spend a lot of time together and shefeels she connects more with Hannah than her son. Hannah thinks shehas the coolest mom too which granted she might. Much like herbrother Hannah is considered a knock-out. She is fiercely stubbornthough. She is going to get her way, just like Hannah 1.0 always did.
Christopher andHannah-Beth also have the most important Washington trait of all. Undyingsibling love.
Ages: Kit and Hannahare the oldest with Jay about a year or so younger then Grace twoyears younger than Jay then MJ under a year younger than his sister withJack a year after MJ. Riley is the only one still a child when theothers are teenagers being 9 years younger then Kit and Hannah. WereRiley 1 year old then Kit and Hannah would 10, Jay would be 9, Gracewould be 7, MJ would be 6 and Jack would be 5
Extra headcanon: At some point Kit and Jay start dating and eventually get married too. (Chris is a little happy his and Josh’s kids ended up together.)
