Note
Z (not Zachary, unless you don't have another Z-name), A, P, Q, X, D
(I don't remember which ones you couldn't think of before)
Zachary
Yeah my only Z name
Tw: abuse, fire
Zachary is the main & most salient antagonist of Syndicate. He is Terran's uncle. Zachary is a Gaian, meaning his magic comes from nature, and he specializes in fire. He uses that fire both as a method of assassination and to teach/punish Terran. While raising Terran he didn’t choose to do and somewhat resents, he does take pride in Terran becoming one of the best assassins. A while back, he fell in love with Ariel, though it never went anywhere, and when Ariel was killed he took it upon himself to take in and train Ariel's kids, Raymond and Mika. With them his methods involved more love bombing and emotional manipulation, but with a similar goal to train them. Zachary tends to be very calm and he tries to keep power in a situation as much as he can. He resents the current Judge (see below) and prefers to do the job his way.
Alexander
This probably isn't obviously known, but Alexander is the current Judge, which is the title for the leader if the Syndicate. He inherited the position and at the time had a lot to prove to ensure that the criminal empire followed him. Part of securing that support involved recruiting those who could be trusted to check up on subgroups (his "spies") and checking in on people who had been a part of it and had tried ti leave while having access anything that could threaten the organization.. and I'm not gojng to go into the detaila rn, but this did lead to Ariel's death, and thus pretty much the entire plot (and is one of a few reasons why Zachary resents him). Alexander is a Vival, which means his magic has to do with the body. Not gunna spoil quite yet what he does using that but it's coming up soon.
Peyton
Peyton and Caysel, the next one, are both part of a story that is not titled and is in my docs as "that unnamed fantasy sotry with Addie." Peyton is Addie's twin brother, and while his sisyer will babble on for hours on end, Peyton finds himself too anxious in any situation (outside of only with family or his gf, in private) to speak. He's very quiet, most don't realize his quietness is due to anxiety. For the most part he gets his schoolwork done and does what he's told. Their family has just taken in their cousin, Luke, whose dads are missing, which is weird for him because now even his home isn't as safe and even Addie doesn't fully get his anxieties. Also their family does magic in the home.
No Q, but you gave me an alternative: C
Caysel
Also from "that unnamed fantasy story with Addie," Caysel is from the high magic side of this story. Caysel is a prince of Caethlona, a fey kingdom. His cousin, Silvyr, is the one in line for the throne, and though Caysel has doubts, he definitely has political opinions-- about Iyorian-Caethlina relations, about the uprising of pixies, about people's rights, tradition, about sexuality and intermarriage-- pretty much everything. But in political meetings, no one listens to his opinions, they make decisions ignoring his ideas. He doesn't have power or any real experience, but he has passion, and compassion.
No X, alternative: W
Will
Will is from Immortal Souls, and is the incarnation of Kaine, living in the 1940s. He is a thrill-seeker and a risk-taker, confident in himself in a way most people around him aren't. He wants to have fun and enjoy life-- dying terrifies him, but not so much that he's not going to take risks. What he really wants is to keep living, remove that inevitably... something that isn't actually impossible, he knows, since immortal people exist and he's heard about some research they're doing for those in the know about magic. Things seems fantastic for Will, until it goes wrong and he's stuck, and his boyfriend is stuck with him and it's his fault.
Deanna
Deanna is from a play I wrote in HS, called An Open Book. In it, the MC, Clara, struggles with anxiety and uses narration in 3rd person to cope. Deanna is Clara's mom. She's a single mom and trying her best, but she doesn't understand why Clara is doing this and is constantly frustrated with her. She's sent Clara to multiple therapists who Clara insists do nothing.
Thanks for the ask!

This file name from your WIP folder game has caught my eye. Would love to know a little more. That unnamed fantasy story with Addie
This was actually a story I got pretty far in before giving up.
Multiple POVs. Addie lives with her twin brother Peyton and her older sister in basically our world, but their family practices magic, just quietly. Addie is a bit of a kleptomaniac, and was at a very boring party for her mother's freinds (So also mages) and swiped a figurine of a fairy. She then gave it as a gift to her crush, Holly.
Soon after the party, Addie & Peyton's cousin Luke came to stay. Luke lives in Iyoria, a country where magic is very common, where the population is all mages.
Luke's dads have gone missing. While the extended family doesn't know this, Jaison has been MIA on a mission to Caethlona, which is a country of fey adjacent to Iyoria. Cameron, Jaison's husband and Addie's uncle, has gone looking for him, sending Luke to live with his cousins.
Meanwhile, in Caethlona, Prince Caysel is struggling to get some authority. He also is secretly seeing Kieran, who works in the castle. Kieran is secretly 1/4 human, even Caysel doesn't know that, and Kieran is also Holly's cousin (Addie's crush), making Holly 1/4 elf, though Holly doesn't know that.
(Okay now I've gotten the characters down. Mostly. Rest of the plot under the cut)
Anyway. So that figurine that Addie stole? it was an aleady-stolen memorial statue for the pixies (smaller fey). Those pixies are creating trouble in Caethlona, which Caysel has Opinions about but is not given any power to resolve, and has to answer to his cousin Silvyr. They also have to do with why Jaison is missing.
So, while a black market sale amongst mage humans doesn't matter as much to the pixies, someone who is even partially elf stealing it becomes political. Holly is kidnapped and "arrested" for possession of the figurine/ statue. Which is Addie's fault. Whoops.
When Addie discovers this and ropes Peyton into helping her rescue Holly from Caethlona, Luke very quickly includes himself, hoping to find his dads there.
Meanwhil, Caysel is given some responsibility of prisoners, which Silvyr doens't care about. through this Caysel discovers Holly there, outrage at it all ensues... and this also leads Kieran to confess his heritage and relationship to Holly. Turns out that Caysel now is in the middle of war brewing.
Whn Addie, Peyton, & Luke get to Iyoria, they need a way to get to Caethlona, but transport is cut off due to political tension between the two. So they find a witch-- someone willing to do illegal magic, basically-- and meet the other major character, Josie. Josie is very motivated to fight, is Deaf. Her mom is willing to track Holly, but Holly isn't able to be found, so Luke asks for Jaison and Cameron. Josie's mom can't really facilitate transport, just tracking. But Josie is able to help them figure out a way to get them there, and suggests they look for Holly from the capital city-- they know it was likely that Holly was arrested.
However, Josie's transport hack doesn't super work. It splits them between 3 different cities-- where Cameron was last known to be, where Jaison, and the capital. Luke, on his own and near where Cameron was last seen, simply goes to look for his dad. Addie and Josie find themselves where Jaison disappeared, and interestingly where an uprising is about to take place. And Peyton... I know I haven't talked too much about Peyton yet. But this boy has some serious anxiety, very quiet, very difficult time with anything social. And he is now alone in the capital. He is able to find Holly though, sort of, which leads him to meet Caysel.
That is about as far as I got. I really likes a lot of the characters, only time I actually was writing an ensemble. But, I realized that I don't like writing some things, like politics and combat, which the story was wanting. So I quit.
Maybe one day I'll return to it
